As a sidenote I'd like to add that Heatblur's lead Cobra is also a graphics guy, could be that he's just too busy leading the dev team through the project and managing the company to keep having to update the visuals, and just rather uses placeholders until the final product can be featurelocked. I'm not saying Cobra's Heatblur's only graphics guy, I can just imagine that ED has the larger team between the two.

If it helps to identify the issues noted: please see my specs below, no fps issues for me. The last few weeks I've built missions flying 2.5 through the mountains, trees and low ground level amongst multiple (>20) ground vehicles and/or boats. Both nighttime and daytime, and in the twilight hours. Dropping high-drag M/71 >100m and watching the explosions and launching RB-04Es don't drop frames noticeably. I realise I have an upper-aspect GPU, but do note the nowadays inferior CPU.

I've been looking around in the search queries and have only found that answer being asked before: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3362105&postcount=4035 No answer yet, though, they've said multiple times it will be the most thourough simulation to date, if your research says it should have FLIR in the HUD, it'll get FLIR in the HUD. *EDIT* Should be via ATFLIR, nite hawk etc. not planned What I DID find was that they're planning on reworking the FLIR technology to be more authentic.

They're still implementing core features like the radar, and just finished A2A refuelling, I take it it's mostly just internal testing.

Very interesting loadout indeed! I wonder why they would choose to double rack the AMRAAM on 1 pylon, and remove the other one entirely instead of having one on each pylon. Those amraams must have a lot more drag effect than the TGP which is closer to the fuselage. I'm guessing they're also using the TGP more as a FLIR, since it wouldn't make sense keeping it around if they're also cutting on pylons. -
All I can now say is I've tried missions both pre-last patch and post-, both trim out fine, tried it just now. Very sorry to hear you're going to return this magnificent plane. I'll have to admit it's currently very buggy in 2.5 OB for me, but that's to be expected from a beta. Is this also the version you are using?

Completely agree, and on a personal note I'd like to add it also gives me some perception that when it takes a while for the next update to get out there, the team ran into a difficult problem to tackle. Really gives me another level of understanding of the huge project of realising this f/a.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! -
It's been... inconsistent for me at times when i just got the aircraft, I really don't know what has changed. Try trimming after 'whiping the controls' like you would with a fly-by-wire; :joystick: max out every axis on your stick and then apply the trim. Let me know how it goes!

You'd have to find a Thunderbolt that still flies, and it'd have to be of the same type they're looking to create. Additionally, the way The Fighter Collection models their planes might not rest on the same dev techniques/tools they're using for the Yak-52. On the other hand, maybe they are testing the tech out on the Yak-52 for validity, to see if it could be used for the P-47 also. No way to know for sure 'till we hear anything new on the P-47.

It just means it won't be added in Early Access, maybe its added for full release.

I think QuiGon is referring to the in-game fact that jammers in DCS just muck up your ability to tag specs in TWS, and they don't return IFF in that specific case. That's what popped up in my head when he complemented my comment anyhow.

What I expect: the same ECM limitations that the rest of DCS currently has; ECM mostly just increases lock-on time, or the range from which they lock onto you

To be fair on the resources bit, they have dedicated folks making these videos now. Though I'd really like to be able to buzz my friends over the airfield with epic sounds, I was just worried this might give the wrong idea. Also, they have plans in the works for giving Combined Arms more attention, and external sounds might just get a whole lot more relevant then. :D -

Really nice vid, though I really dislike the post-added sounds. If I'm seeing in-game footage I want to hear in-game footage. Strikes me up the same alley as "In-engine footage" does for all those triple A games that look like shite on release. -

Amazing video! -
Last official nod was that they lacked wind tunnel data or somesuch. Nothing has changed if they don't post an update that they actually have additional data to go on.

Co-op campaign? *sploosh*

Used the guide mentioned above to get to 2.5 OB from my 1.5.8 stable And I have to say I'm really amazed with the new map! Between the new trees, the arfield ramp numbering for mission editors, all of the amazing changes between seasons... Thank you ED! Now I'm really keen on flying the Hornet on both Caucasus and Hormuz :prop:

Can't find the post in the subforum anymore, but they're looking into a C-130, no promises yet.
-
And it paves the way for future cargo planes  Like the one razbam is looking into

Hi, I don't know much about the F-5 or it's radio presets, but from a mission editor's point of view: Make sure the AWACS is actually 'on mission'; check the waypoint where you want him to start, and press: -> Advanced (Waypoint Actions) -> Start Enroute Task -> Action (AWACS). Hope this helps!
-
My guess; No, it's in the core of the game to include Caucasus. I understand your concerns, I mostly play SP as well, though 3rd party Campaign creators have had the better part of january for all their 2.5 fixes, so I hope there won't be as many problems. Most of the issues arisen from the 2.5 merge were placement issues with the new forests iirc.
-
Not necessarily, then you're just sent in low i would guess. 5+ tanks for a Warthog is a pretty good deal if you're about to get routed. I base this on absolutely nothing by the way, it's just my opinion.

Tally another price thread.. I can remember spending 70e on some arcade flight game about 10 years back, I think it's safe to say the Hornet will have twice as much effort into it then some Xbox game ever will. If you don't think it'll be worth the price, wait for a sale a year or two for now..
