Hi All, Someone, please direct me to the thread on this (if it exists already). I've looked around but didn't see anything on this potential bug yet. My problem is that after fighting with the enemy, some of my AI planes in other groups that are following me home will start to slow WAAAYYYYY down (like below 100mph). They will lose altitude slowly to the point of splashing in the English Channel (Normandy Map). They don't join formation when asked to. I'd attach a file, but it would be too large since this only happens at the end of the sortie. I'll set up the same mission in Nevada and Caucasus to see if this happens there as well. Anyone else seen this weird AI behavior towards the end of your sorties? ChuckIV

Hi FlightControl. I've been watching your YouTube videos and I'm trying to get a handle of this MOOSE scripting. I'm a person that learns by example. I need to see some simple Lua coding and MIZ files that go with it. Right now I would like to make a simple MOOSE driven miz file that has nested F10 menus to tell my squadron (my group and 2 other AI groups) to get into certain squadron formations. For example, I might ask YELLOW GROUP to go echelon left TOP COVER. ...or I might ask RED GROUP to go line abreast starboard LEVEL height. Can you get me any simple F10 menu lua scripts already written that I can model and make my own? Also, I would like to know how to use the formations and follow functions with the F10 menus. Thanks in advance, ChuckIV

Can someone point me in the right direction here? I'm looking for a lua script that will have my AI friendly pilots tell me, "HEY STUPID, YOU'RE ABOUT TO GET A LEAD ENEMA!" After a dogfight is over, thinking all enemy aircraft have been destroyed, I'm flying around thinking Oh, how kind. My AI buddies are forming up right behind me even without asking. I feel really safe now knowing my six is covered. Only to discover two seconds later, that my AI buddies were in fact chasing an enemy fighter that was about to make a deposit in the ChuckIV Suppository! Any help would be greatly appreciated finding this lua code that's hopefully already been created; a script that tells the player that an enemy is RIGHT BEHIND THEM and about to BLAST THEM. P.S. I know, I know, that's what the mirror is for right?! Sigh..... I also posted this in the DCS 2.5 section as well. ChuckIV

bump I've had the disappearing reticle for a while now. Last night even. Stable version here... after cleaned and repaired... ChuckIV
-
Addendum... I also did the clean and repair - no workie.
-
Me too Yep, me too. The aiming reticle disappears at random times and does not come back unless the mission is quit and restarted. Then it disappears again. I'm using the STABLE version as well. Hopefully, this will get fixed very soon. ChuckIV

Bump - same question Same question... I've done the same exact thing Habu. What's up??? ChuckIV P.S. Still flying planes in RealFlight??

Try these steps... GABY330, While climbing for altitude, make sure to check your OIL PRESSURE. If the oil gets too cold at higher altitudes, you get HIGH oil pressure causing the stall. Turn on the OIL DILUTION for about a minute (adds petrol to the oil) - check periodically for too high an oil pressure. I like to keep my oil pressure around 90-100 p.s.i. Also, keep supercharger pressure to 8 lbs. while climbing below the 2nd stage altitude. Once above the 2nd stage (orange supercharger light comes on), I run the pressure up to about 10 lbs. Keep engine RPM to less than 2800 RPM while climbing. Keep the OIL and ENGINE temperatures down!! Open the radiators. These last few things will help prevent the engine from seizing up. If you are using a drop tank, then make sure you do not climb too steep (too high a climb rate). This will cause engine fuel starvation and a stall. Do these simple things, and you will VERY RARELY have an engine stall on you. Good luck. ChuckIV

Download from the USER FILES You can also look up USER FILES in this excellent website. Download the ones you want involving WWII aircraft, and waalaaa - you're ready to go! ChuckIV

Pretty sure this is an Open Beta bug - let's wait to hear from ED; don't start messing with page filing, etc. ChuckIV
-
I think we all need to stop messing with our computers and wait to hear from ED. I'm pretty sure this is an Open Beta bug that will be fixed soon hopefully. Maybe ED will let us know soon so we don't all start making it worse for our systems. ChuckIV

I wish ED would post something, or send us all an email regarding this crashing lately. This should be done so we don't all start messing around with OUR computers thinking the problem is on our end. My first instinct was to start changing my pagefile system. I've tried everything. I tried a fixed pagefile size for my two SSD drives and one regular drive. I tried NO pagefile size for both drives and left enough of a pagefile in case of complete system crash. I tried a combination; I let Windows run the pagefiles; nothing stops the continual crashing. I removed the fxo and metashader folders and restarted the program to rebuild these. I removed all mods, cleaned and repaired a few times. This continual crashing is making EVERYONE freak out. I've even read on the forums that some have gone so far as to purchase more RAM, larger video card power supplies, upgraded or at least updated video cards/drivers and purchased new systems altogether, etc. Don't get me wrong. I completely understand the Open Beta concept, and I'm enjoying being on the cutting ED edge! I would be the first to volunteer receiving courtesy emails regarding ED changes that might cause program crashes for a certain amount of time. That would be perfectly OK with me. It would also prevent me from being a danger to my own computer system! :o) ChuckIV

Hope this bug is fixed very soon - I'm on Open Beta, I've tried many things; removed all mods, cleaned and repaired several times, looked at the logs. There are numerous errors related to the F-14 and the Christen Eagle in the logs. I'll try to remove my Christen Eagle, but I suspect it won't help due to the F-14 (which I don't even own by the way). There are other errors in the logs that I have no control over. I'm thinking about going back to the stable version to see if it has this continual crashing after either clicking the fly or exit back to editor buttons. This is really bad timing for ED's sale right now. Why purchase another model if I'm going to get crashes after crashes right now? ChuckIV

Please do Goose - it's really annoying for us mission designers who have to restart the program after every single test. ChuckIV

Yeah, not working for me either Reflected. I even reinstalled EVERYTHING - no luck. ChuckIV

First, please lead me to the thread that may have already reported this bug. I searched but didn't find it as of yet. Secondly, here's what's happening... At 24,000 feet altitude upon spawning, I notice that my boost gauge is at zero lbs. pressure. Pushing the boost lever back and forth has no affect, but I leave it in the max boost position anyway. I open my radiators manually and push the petal to the medal!!! Full throttle!! The RPM settles right at 3,000 RPM at level flight. The boost goes up slightly to 4 lbs. Oil pressure is 120 psi. Temps (oil and water) good. Fuel pump on. Gear and flaps both up. Finally, I take note of the speedometer - 240 knots. I know that when pressing the F10 map option, the speed is reported as slight higher than the gauge in the actual cockpit, but we are still WAY off top speed. I also notice the radiator flaps have not opened manually - never did open during the speed test. According to the research online, the LF Mk IX is capable of so much more; 404 mph (650 km/h) at 21,000 ft (6,400 m) to be exact. This would be pretty close to 350 knots. I'd be thrilled with even 300 knots level flight. Do I need to install a big nitrous oxide bottle? :megalol: OK, don't beat me up too much, I'm sure this was already reported right? Please guide me to the info - I'd appreciate it very much. ChuckIV

....another option... Why cant the developers create it so that the settings are LEFT ALONE after we get out of our aircraft ???? I have to raise my seat, move it forward a bit, adjust my rudder trim, open all the button covers, etc., etc., etc. Can't there be a simple way to just leave ALL settings the way they were in the previous flight??? [REPORTED] Spitfire - strange engine failure
ChuckIV replied to Reflected's topic in Bugs and Problems
I found that by diluting the fuel with oil at high altitudes (a.k.a. VERY cold), it brings the pressure back down and the engine does not fail. Works every time for me. ChuckIV P.S. Reflected, have you gotten around to fixing the level 1 objectives in The Big Show yet? I shot down a 190 and lived to land back at base - but I was a disgrace to my country. -
After loading numerous radio transmissions, several late spawns stop working, and simulated bombing stops as well. When I remove all the radio transmissions, everything works fine again. Is this a reported BUG? ChuckIV
-
I've been working on a multi-role SP mission. I noticed that ever since I added a bunch of radio transmissions, I've had some problems arise. The first problem is that many late activated groups stopped spawning altogether. Even the ones that only have a simple TIME MORE than condition. Also, my simulated bombing stopped working when a unit enters zones. After REMOVING these radio transmissions, everything works fine again. Does anyone know of this issue; that of things stop working after radio transmissions have been entered as triggered events? Is this a BUG? Any info would be greatly appreciated since I spent a LOT of time creating all the radio transmissions for this mission. This would be a really GREAT mission if I could get it all working! ChuckIV

Pilots, Can you help me REMOVE the glass reflections from my GAUGES and CANOPY? Which file(s) do I need to edit for these? Please see my attachments below... Thanks in advance! ChuckIV

remove this moderators please

I have an intermittent problem that I have no idea how to fix. Maybe some of you pilots have had the same thing happen. While in a SP mission, I ask my flight to engage bandits. They do engage the bandits after saying "2 engaging bandits, 3 engaging bandits". The only problem is that once they start chattering this message, it NEVER STOPS. They will repeat "engaging bandits" until I land and end mission. Anyone else have this bug? Were you able to fix it? Let me know, thanks thanks! ChuckIV ****** I may have stumbled across the problem. I'm noticing it's when I ask my group or wingman to "Cover me!", they say, "Engaging bandits" repeatedly until the mission is complete regardless if there are any enemy planes in the sky. I will confirm soon. *******
