  1. Interesting, that one is news to me. I hadn't seen anywhere in the manual about when to turn that on. Shouldn't the yellow light come on if fuel pressure is low? If that indeed helps with engine temp while dogfighting that would be very useful.
  2. Ah, right. Didn't know that. Thanks!
  3. Thanks! It seems to only let me zoom out a little when I do this. But it's close enough I suppose.
  4. Hey guys, Sometime I accidentally hit enter and it zooms in heavily on my gunsight. I can't for the life of me see where this key is binded under adjust controls. Nor can I figure out how to reverse it. Advice please?
  5. Thanks! If you saw all my landings you might not be so impressed :) I'm really tempted by the warthog HOTAS but I just dropped a fair bit of money on a trackir. It looks so sexy though, and now I've just grabbed the f5e module I'm suddenly very short of buttons... I'm not in a rush though. I'm only a third of the way through the f5e manual and have heaps I still want to do with the spit before I really dive into the 70s.
  6. Agreed. I've spent roughly 90% of my time just practicing the landings. It feels so good when you really nail a 3 pointer but I still get the occasional ugly bouncy one.
  7. Thanks all! Have confirmed that enough level flight corrects it. Also, it definitely does slump at low power on the ground then correct itself when I power up and takeoff again. The "limited panel" IF I find awfully tricky though in clouds. Will take a lot of time until that feels natural I'm sure. Impressive that people can do it.
  8. Thanks for that. I'll give it a go and report back.
  9. Ah, thanks! How do I do that? I don't see a clickable zone.
  10. Hey guys, Has anyone else been having issues with the artificial horizon of the spit? To begin with I barely used it, but the Operation Epsom Campaign has a bunch of missions where you have to fly through cloud and I really need it to be spot on. It's usually ok, but sometimes I find it clearly showing you as banked when you have a visually straight horizon. Here is a screenshot I took while I was on the ground.
  11. Sorry, bit of a blog post: I've always been in love with the spitfire and decided to get back into simming a month ago. Grabbed a Thrusmaster HOTAS 4 and rudder pedals and have already done many take offs and ~150 landings. The next step was to get Normandy/WW2 assets/Operation Epsom. Strafing was a new skill for me, and I ate the trees a couple of times on my first couple of attempts. Decided to concentrate, be conservative and focus and do it properly today. Just managed to get back from the first mission of Operation Epsom with all 4 of my wing intact. I checked and got 27 hits on supply trucks (and definitely heard myself get hit by a couple of rounds of ground fire on 1 strafing run). Between us we got 9 kills on trucks. It was such a rush turning north towards the end, realizing how much flak was in front, and successfully turning/diving/avoiding at high speed with everyone intact. The landing wasn't perfect but I managed to get it under control without bouncing or scraping a wing. Can't wait for the other 11 missions. It felt so good letting the merlin cool down and shutting it off.
  12. Thanks so much for this! I've recently gotten back into simming after 20 years away. I've spent many hours over the last month living out a childhood fantasy and getting to grips with handling the spitfire and was looking to play out some more combat situations. What a fantastic experience getting to taxi out with an armada of B17s!
