  1. Still hard to finish it, huh? :P After I made the changes to the mission, I actually didn’t try it, but I had offer from another forum member to test the mission, which he did. He passed it (but not too easy) on the first try I believe, and he sent me his .trk file. I watched it and it was very good flying, and good outcome of the mission. BTW, I have checked in the mission editor, and actually Russian defensive forces are already skilled as “Excellent”, while Georgian attacking forces are already “Average” (being lowest standard) or “Good”. So not too much space for changes here. My intention was that this mission is not too easy. The idea was to make pilots really sweat to pass it. I think I achieved that goal! ;) If you want I can find and attach the .trk file of the mission tester (of course with his permission). Really good flying and you can learn many things on being the flight leader of three-ship from it. What about the other missions in v1.1? Have anybody tried some other mission?
  2. OK, here is the link for (uncompleted) v1.1. http://www.mediafire.com/?k031z24utzentii Just for your info missions 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 are debugged and tuned with some changes (I can provide you a list of changes if you want). Missions no. 2, 5 and 14 are untouched. Missions 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15 are changed but not fully finished. So, check this version and if there are spoilers, report, and I will see what I can do… BTW, I was just looking trough the full list of changes that I wanted to implement in v1.1 – much is done and not too much left. Lately I’m extremely busy to do anything about that, but maybe if there is a volunteer with extra free time and some mission building skills… ;)
  3. OK, I will try to upload it this weekend. Hmmmmm, strange... This is the first time I hear about that kind of a problem on that mission. IIRC triggers are set in such manner that no Mi-28 or Mi-8 flights are activated before you take care of the air defense. There is definitely some mess with the triggers, but I think that mission was fully fixed (and slightly changed) for 1.0.2, so you can try it after I upload it.
  4. I’m glad that you guys enjoy the campaign, but still feeling bad that I can’t provide you bug free, and polished version of it. It is off my desk for some time, so I must check what work has actually been done to adapt it for BS 1.0.2. If I remember correctly it was at least 70% fixed, so if you want I can upload those corrected missions in hope that you will have less problems and bugs than now. Besides bug fixing and tuning, some other things that we didn’t like in the first versions are changed.
  5. That could be one of the problems that have occurred when 1.0.2 patch was released. With it, many things in BS are improved, but the changes made in AI behavior and the sound engine produced some problems with previously created missions/campaigns. Unfortunately I never had enough free time to re-work the campaign for the new patch, and now it seems pointless to even start such project when in near future we are expecting compatibility patch with the A-10C. That will certainly change BS dramatically.
  6. Well, I can’t promise anything at the moment, but just to inform you that already for some time I’m working on the new map. It is supposed to be completely new map, not just extension to the east.
  7. Oooops, sorry! Check your PM now. S!
  8. AFAIK it depends on the success of the printed version of TC-1, and community’s attitude and desire for the second version of the map. BTW, it is not only that the new map need to be expanded to the east, there are also some other changes that need to be made and features that need to be added on the entire area.
  9. Windows 7 32-bit, correct.
  10. Strange... If you paste all the missions and the .cmp file in ...Missions/Campaigns you should be able to see it in the list of campaigns. Anyone else having this problem? Plus I must point out that couple of missions are updated: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=818547&postcount=97 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=825115&postcount=104 and v1.1 of the campaign is in work (some polishing and bug cleaning is made). Also I've noticed different AI behavior with BS 1.0.2 so I've started to test and adjust all the missions. Unfortunately due to extreme lack of free time it is going very slowly, but I'm not giving up yet!
  11. I also had the same problem (and got used to Alt+Tab every 10minutes), but after trying Mustang's suggestion - it works. I just had 2 hours of continuous flight with no error, so I suggest you try it your self. Mustang, thank you mate for this!!! PS one of my friends with the same symptoms also confirms it works.
  12. Excellent job!
  13. I laminated mine myself (http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=936955&postcount=62), but a friend took his to graphic material store (which also sells self adhesive transparent foils), and they laminated it for 10,5Euro.
  14. It is true that IRL radio communications are very often causing difficulties for the pilots. Background noise, weak radio links, pilot’s concentration focused on something else… you will have to deal with all of that and get used to “listen to the radio with one ear” all the time. To be honest I didn’t tried the VG campaign yet (I only saw one track file), but having in mind that this campaign is based on keeping the high reality level, I agree with =FG=Schtuzer on the way the problem with radio communications is worked out. Of course, in the simulator you don’t have the opportunity to request “say again” if you didn’t hear/understood your last transmission, so having short written description could be the best solution. Otherwise it is probably true that players would get too relaxed and rely too much on the subtitles. Train your ear and concentration, and you will have no problems. Regarding the maps, maybe you should consider getting TC-1 Tactical Chart. Having one would give you possibility to better prepare for a mission (draw your route, front line, target locations, friendly positions; examine terrain features in the target area…), and with it you will have full DCS/FC2 area covered on one sheet. If you are not familiar with this map, here is the link.
  15. One small correction. ;) On the second picture, Fixator flight should probably be "Mi-24V" instead of "Mi-24B". BTW thumbs up for the great work!
  16. This two posts regarding the use (and lamination) of the map could be interesting for you. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=937532&postcount=66 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=936955&postcount=62 S!
  17. Hi pyro, Thanks for all your comments on the campaign! I’m glad you enjoy it, and at the same time, I’m sorry to hear that some missions are frustrating you. I’m working intensively on v1.1 of the campaign, where most of your remarks are already been done or listed for changes. Regarding to some issues on enemy strength it is under testing, since after patch there is difference in AI behavior, and during the creation of the campaign the biggest problem (and time spent) was on balance of Red and Blue AI. Now I have to test it and make some changes for the version 1.1.
  18. The first post is updated with the most important links, so you don’t have to look around if you need to find something. Once again I want to thank you all for supporting this project, respect to the TFC/ED for standing behind it, and special thanks to JimMack because he is the man responsible for the availability of the printed version of the map. S!
  19. Finally! OK gents, As Jim said, the map is finally available for sale! For those who will buy it just follow the Jim’s directions and DON’T rush it! The Cover The TC-1 map As we promised the high resolution png format of the map is available for download. You can download it from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?gyj44wnmdiz or soon from www.digitalcombatsimulator.com from the download section. I wish us all many enjoyable flying hours with the map and improvement of coordination and effectiveness. S! :pilotfly:
  20. @ Frederf Very nice and simple explanation.
  21. You will easily know when you have to do something (like go to new position defined with coordinates) by listening to radio communication. Remember that your callsign is “205” for the whole campaign, and listen for the given instruction. I also recommend that you have pencil and paper with you all the time, since some things here are not pre-planned, and you will have to write them down. Regarding the “how-to” operate PVI-800 and ABRIS, the best way to do it is to read next chapters in the manual (you can find pdf version in Doc folder of the simulator): COCKPIT CONTROLS Section: - PVI-800 Navigation Control Panel ABRIS Section: - MENU/PLAN Sub-mode - MAP/ERBL Sub-mode I hope this helps. S!
  22. Probably you can fly it in game mode, but you will only get simplified flight model. Regarding to extensive operation of PVI and ABRIS, you will have to learn it. Otherwise, you will not be able to find your objectives in some missions.
  23. Yes! :D Thanks Crunch! EDIT: When can we expect Ka-50s to be available at Sukhumi/Maykop?
  24. Crunch, would you consider at least to put half of the Ka-50s on Sukhumi/Maykop? That way if you want to work the ground targets you can use Kutaisi/Krymsk, and if you want to go deeper into the enemy territory, you can use Sukhumi/Maykop. It would save at least half hour to fly from Kutaisi/Krymsk to Sukhumi/Maykop (or much more if you want to stop-by and work in the target area). Yesterday I was on my way to do some damage at Maykop with Ka-50, but just when I was some 50km from Maykop (after 2+ hour flight) server restarted. If I could start again from Sukhumi, it would be much easier.
  25. Bigdog, just copy and paste the Geogian Havoc folder to Campaign folder. After that start DCS, select Campaign from main menu, and you will have the option to start Georgian Havoc campaign. Good luck!
