  1. Uhhh, it would be very difficult, and probably too sterile. I suggest, as dooom said, joining a good squadron, of finding a solid online group and directly communicating via Ventrilo or TeamSpeak would be much more realistic, and fun! Absolutely! :music_whistling: Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with creation of MP missions/campaigns. I know that there are some differences in triggers, and mission goals. Actually on couple occasions I modified some of the missions simply by changing helicopter's status from "player" to "client" and by adding couple more "clients", and it worked. But I'm not sure is that all I have to change in order to work properly...
  2. Slug88, thank you very much on your nice words of the campaign, but even more on the critiques. That is exactly what I need to make the campaign even better! So far you are pointing on some issues, I was having doubts too. First let me say that I was trying to get best balance between reality and gameplay. Sometimes it is hard to achieve both. I also took in mind previous pools on ED forum where people were voting on how they would like a typical mission in DCS: BS to look like (can’t find the exact thread). Things like would they like to fly 30minutes to target area (realistic), or few minutes (unrealistic)… Precisely on that mission where you are tasked to capture an enemy airfield, and then land there immediately after capturing it, yeah, completely unrealistic! But I was thinking that probably most of the people would hate to fly back all the way to base after mission success. Personally I also support RTB after mission success. Let’s see what the others will think on this one. On the mission you are now flying where you have to stop Georgian counter attack after you took Senaki airport, quote “with no real threat to ourselves”, you probably showed discipline on received orders. ;) Other way you would probably face some unpleasant triggers. He, he, he, I’m glad that you like the mean old Ltc (call sign “200”). That is actually me, and you will hear more from “him” in this campaign. Finally, I’m VERY glad that you like Georgian Havoc. Keep on flying (I’m impressed that you succeeded to finish so much of the campaign in so short time) I’m sure that you will find more interesting missions as you go further, and most important, don’t hesitate to share your critiques! Salute!
  3. OK, then I would appreciate all observed bugs of Georgian Havoc campaign to be reported here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=48328 or as PM to me, if that is not against the rules of the competition. ;) Thanks!!!
  4. This campaign is made to be part of "Official ED Campaign Creation Competition". You can see all the details in the campaign introduction and briefings. There is total of 15 staged missions. We tried to make good briefings and interesting and non-repeating scenarios in each mission. There are a lot of recorded communications, and like in real life you will have to listen carefully because, sometimes you will be retasked in air from your original task. Also you will have to take a good look at the mission briefings, since many crucial information are exactly there. I wouldn’t call this campaign “expert difficulty”, but in some missions you will have to be able to enter new point in your PVI-800 based on received coordinates (very easy thing to do), or edit a new point in your ABRIS according to received bearing and distance from a known point (also easy to do). Therefore, I would recommend that you always have a paper and a pencil with you if you fly this campaign. I hope you will like it and enjoy in it (or you can completely hate it ), but still there may be bugs in it, since testing time was extremely short, and when you test something you made your self, a lot of bugs can pass undetected. Therefore, be free to write your comments and notes, and if needed, V1.1 of the campaign can be produced. Team participated in the campaign: Igor “=MAF=Mongoose” Chkorov Ilija “=MAF=Loaded Dice” Panov Dragan “=MAF=Dragan” Cvetich Stefco "=MAF=Hercul" Tashovski You can download the campaign here: http://rapidshare.com/files/31869366...Havoc_v1.0.rar If you If you encounter some problems or find some bugs, please report it to me. Thanks!!!
  5. Everything is here, I hope! http://rapidshare.com/files/318693668/Georgian_Havoc_v1.0.rar

  7. Hey! Do we have information how/where/when to submit our campaigns? It seems a bit quiet on this issue lately…
  8. This BMP-2 driver is big Spiderman fan, or had too much Vodka last night. :D
  9. Great! Good luck with your mission(s)! Looking forward to try it.
  10. Sure! Just put a minute or so Time hold for that air unit. It will do the job. And, with that Su-25s problem. Check once again that you have associated correct units to that trigger. That it is "you" in "Unit damaged" trigger, and that it is "Su-25 group" in "Activate Group". Sometimes I complicate my life to much with putting so many units in my missions and eventually I mix them up. Especially if you don’t change their names so it would be easy to recognise them in trigger editor. You know what I mean? :D Will you participate in campaign building contest?
  11. Su-25s are maybe not showing immediately if you choose them to "start from ramp". Then it might be possible that they are still starting up in the armored shelter, they have to taxi to runway, take off... It takes time. Try choosing "Start from runway"/ Air units (aircraft and helicopters) don't have "visible before start" option like ground units. They will be visible only after they are activated. If you want to use moving trigger zone, just create one zone anywhere on the map, assign a name and radius, and then you can use "unit inside/outside moving zone" trigger, by choosing unit that zone will be attached to, and appropriate zone. It is not necessary to set 23 hours of hold time. You can set any hold time you want for a unit to be activated on trigger. But if you set, let's say half hour, and it is a long mission, after 30 minutes in the mission the unit will be activated even without trigger. That is why it is 23 hours - it is very unlikely that your mission will last that long to activate the unit without the trigger. I hope this helped. S!
  12. Hi, I have tried to make this modification (also I made BackUp file of the old me_units_list.rar), but right on the first mission I tried to implement this mod, I received Error message (showed in attachment). Then I restored my backup file, but anyway, every time I try to open that specific mission, I always get the same Error message. :( It wouldn’t be a big deal, since all the other missions are OK, but this one was a bit complex, and it would be a real pain if I will have to remake it from the beginning. Any ideas? P.S. I am using V1.0.1 of DCS: BS
  13. Ooops! Disregard my last post, I was thinking I'm posting it in DCS section. Sorry!
  14. Hi Funkster, here are some of my edited F4 views: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=40004&page=2&highlight=f4+view (post #13) Just download the attachment (F4 View.rar). Hope you will like it! Cheers!
  15. That is what makes me go hmmmm...
  16. So ED, do we have that 1 month extension of the dead line officially? :)
  17. Lol! Yeah, I tried to integrate my private life into this project by assigning it to record female air traffic controller voice, which went fine, but tolerance was raised for maybe 1% only.
  18. Hmmmm, due to my regular obligations, I’m starting to be a bit skeptic that I’ll make it till the dead line. I’m still working on 4th (of 5) stage, and not to talk about testing, making briefings, corrections…
  19. I have couple: - UNDO option – how many times did it happen to you that by accident you move or delete something, and you have to spend extra time to get it back in order, - satellite view of the map in the mission editor – I think this would also be good option, because often I want to place a unit on a specific place, and I doesn’t always manage to do it in my first try, - GROUP IN ZONE – a good addition to UNIT IN ZONE, - % OF GROUP ALIVE – then you can set for example a mission success to be 70% of group to survive as a mission goal, and if you combine it with GROUP IN ZONE would be very useful, - MISSILE IN MOVING ZONE or AAA ROUNDS IN MOVING ZONE – you can attach your chopper as unit and create zone around you in which if a missile or AAA rounds enter, a sound and message can be triggered (for example a message from a FAC “501, SAM launch, break, break, break!!!!”). Anyway, Speed_2, very good idea to start this wish list, since I think that there is A LOT of place for improvements in ME, and we are all witnessing that ED is listening to our wishes. It would be great to implement some of Speed_2 and Warbird_242’s notes.
  20. “This point total is also used to define which stage and mission may be chosen next in a campaign.” What does it means? Is it possible that if you score 100 points you will be able to jump couple of missions or a stage up? Or is it like this: - less then 50 points, you go one mission back, - 50 points, you stay on the same mission, - more than 50 points, you go to the next mission, or next stage if that was the last mission of a stage. I’m asking because I’ve completed only “Deployment” campaign, and there it was clear – you finish a mission with success, you go to the next one. Therefore I’m not sure how it works in GOW.
  21. Yeah TKMR, interesting approach! Looks like THIS might actually be the easiest way. Thanks!
  22. Hey Batou, this is great! I can’t wait to fly a mission against insurgents on your terrain!
  23. Exactly, But if I make just, let’s say, 15 Units in Zone as a mission goal, I think it wouldn’t work. In that case, what if only one of those units gets killed and other 19 survive, then again mission is failed. Therefore, it will definitely be necessary to make all variations as nemises suggested. A lot of work to do, but I guess it is the only way.
  24. Thanks a lot nemises! I had actually tried something similar (I created several groups and adjusted their positions to look like one convoy), but a “traffic” problem occurred that despite that all groups had the same predetermined speed, very often one group was taken over by the other behind it, and eventually it looked very silly. Anyway, I think that your suggestion is the only way to solve the problem. Still I think that there is plenty of room for improvements in ME… ;)
