  1. I see that the old method where as the TPOD use to lock on now require a 0.8 second click to lock on the TGT and set the release mode, The old method of TDC action switch does not work now. I misunderstood the video, in action required for release . Tried another MSN to nite and was able to get releases with no problem with TDC xhair reversing.
  2. Maybe I was not clear, I was dropping GBU 12 a 500lb bomb as we know with a laser kit on it not a JDAM. The selected TGT was the STP point so no reconfigure of the bombing system was really needed. SO from the above response I am to understand that a double tap of .8 seconds is required in order for the TPOD to recognize it is the TGT mode (HTS mode) and to activate the bomb mode for release, for the GBU?
  3. Hi all I been trying to master the Harrier for a while now and with the latest changes attempting to release a gbu in auto mode at altitude is near impossible. The release cue and drop line, have always been squirrely but they are impossible to keep line up now, even if you use Autopilot to guide you. It seem like the parameters for the drop /release have tighten up, to getting a release is dam near impossible. I checked my TDC keybinds before starting a game and they where correct i.e. they reacted as planned. In game I used the DMT to set code on the left screen, then called up the target (stepped to the TGT inflight over 100 miles out to set the DESC BTN left MFD) and then put as normal for me the flight map on the left screen. On the right screen I put the stores page, armed the weapons and set the parameters for release. Then called up the TPOD 40 miles out prior to calling up the TPOD it was displaying the ECM screen. About around the TGT showed up and I started to zoom in on it, just a tiny bit of correction was need, right/left TDC corrections worked fine. UP down//Forward/Aft was reversed. I chased the drop line as usual but at 3.0 seconds it took off to the right and I could not catch it, no release made. Flew pass the TGT 20 miles, turned 180 to strike the TGT again once again left and right TDC worked correctly but the AFT/ Forward were reversed. I stopped the game enter adjust controls and reversed the Aft and Forward bindings reentered the game and both bindings worked correctly. Last night when I flew I came across the same problem that the Maverick shooters were having except I never call up a second display screen, I did fine that the TPOD switched to INS (right screen) and that the TPOD TDC was totally reversed, that is up was down, down was up, right was left and left was right. How the TPOD switched to INS unknown. Now earlier in that flight I called up the DMT (right screen) to set the code but that was it right back to ECM screen. Also during that flight I also stopped the game when experiencing TDC reversal, I entered the controller page and reversed the keybinds (I for Y and Y for I to correct the left right of TDC action this did nothing, so I reentered the controller page and reversed the TM key actions left became right and right became left, this did not work either, so I gave up and went to bed. Since I have been flying the Harrier I noticed the drop cue and release line can get erratic near release but never this bad, no aircraft can turn that fast with 5 seconds to go, they need to look at that. I'm so confused how to set up the TDC now I guess I'm back to CIP bombing and iron bombs. I would guess this all came about with the NOV. 2 release because everything seem to work correctly before this up date. The NOV 17th release did not seem to effect the Harrier as far as read the update
  4. Hi guys, I know I am coming late to the party and I would guess you all have figured it out by now, but the thought I throw my 2 cents in about fuel calculations in the Harrier. The calculation is always based on the Airspeed and altitude you are at so that is standard,. But I have so much to do in the harrier I need something quick. Now Vitormouraa calculations look good to me but way to much math in the head. I only care how long I can fly so try this instead, Let's say your fuel flow is 62PPM I would round this down to 60 PPM, I then multiply by (x10) ten this gives me the amt. burned in 10 minutes or you can use the full 62PPM and end up with 620 for 10 minutes or 600PPM for 10 minutes. I then multiply this by 3 to get 30 minutes and if I want the fuel for and hour multiply by (X2) two. Now at a glance you can estimate how much flight time U have at this current speed/altitude. This will only give you the approximate time you have but the calculations are quick and easy. I would not worry to much about BINGO fuel if you have to figure that out your already in trouble, but by subtracting BINGO from total fuel you can approximate your usable fuel. If you are attempting to calculate time and distance to go to a recovery base just convert your ground speed to miles per minute measure the distance off the F10 map or just estimate the distance and the calculation is easy because you know how much fuel it will cost you (approximately) because you know what 10 minutes of fuel will be..... I just trying to keep it simple, If I have figured anything wrong please let me know. WeakLink
  5. Hey draconus thanks for the info, just one question, can I cut and paste so that the proper controller inputs appear under the Aircraft name outside the DCS game game itself. That is go to my C drive access the controller input for the A/C then transfer them to the DCS game under the correct A/C in the input folder. The repair info was very helpful thanks, I'll give that a try.
  6. Hi guys, I sure some of you computer nerds can help me out. When I started in DCS, as all newbies I read just enough of the manual to be dangerous. But recently I have notice that my joystick and Throttle layouts are all over the place. Is there a way to bring them all together into one file? Or even into a aircraft file for each aircraft? If I was to built a joystick and throttle file say for the F86, just downloaded, and I wanted it to come up when the model was selected on the top under System (F-86) /controller menu / Then click load profile, listed as F86 joystick, Throttle, and Rudder programs, which I now have to load one by one how do you do this.? Right now If I want to load the Harrier keybinds It comes up in the F/A 18c listing. (after Load Profile clicked) E>DCS World>Mods>AircraftFA18C>Missions FA18C>Controllers Programs this is where the Harrier files are saved for some reason. It works fine but I would love to straighten this out. Any clues to what I have done wrong or how to correct this problem now or in the future would be very helpful, as stated I am not a computer expert and need some help here. WeakLink

  8. Hey Kaaboom I have the same problem, if you switch to the other program The scripts, I get the both programs running at same time and neither are loaded (checked Task Manager program) did you ever solve this problem? WeakLink
  9. Mouse left click activation Is there a way to make the thrustmaster Warthog Slew button (right throttle second button) act as the left button on the mouse so that after you activate the mic button you can activate the comm menu selection "F" command, within the keybind menu so that the mouse does not have to be used?
  10. Make sure you do not have "stick to trimmer control mode" set in Axis Command section. It is suppose to calm down your trim but makes it buck like a bronco , you do not even have to activate it just make a keybind for it and it caused me one night of pain. Just get use to using the trim and be very light on it will work out .Fine a place to put "Trim Reset" on your joystick and if you lose your place just reset the trim, works great for me. Also found under trim section. (search) command.
  11. Hi all, I was just looking at my DCS installs and I notice I have DCS 1.5 on my computer. I currently fly on open Beta for the most part and on DCS world on occasion. The question is do I need DCS 1.5 on my computer or can I delete it. Not sure if it is tied to OpenBeta and would hate to erase all of my Open Beta by mistake. WeakLink
  12. Go to the weather page in the mission editor right hand side about two lines down and check your takeoff date and time. the time should match the takeoff time for your mission start. I found if it doesn't match you will get a nice view of your takeoff air base. Your T/O time has to be on the same day you have listed or you get a countdown clock in the upper right corner. At least that is what has been happening to me.
  13. Hi all, just started with a simple air TGT, Jester makes one call of BRA and seems to go to sleep after the first call. The TGT was 85 miles ahead but it would be sure nice to be able to request a BRA call from Jester in the menu. Maybe it is there and I don't know it and have not come across it yet but a request for BRA call from Jester would be nice to help track the bandit. Developer this is not a bug just a suggestion to help close on a bandit so feel free to put this anywhere appropriate in the forum.
  14. Hi all not sure this is a bug or suppose to happen, Just before T/O I set the bug for T/O speed at 140. During the T/O run when you approach the bug///cross the airspeed set, the bug starts to move up as the airspeed increases it follows the air speed needle. My question is, is that what it is suppose to do, is it proper action or is it suppose to remain in place. I am Halfway thru the manual and may have missed it, so I would like to know. Several times now I have gone back to set the bug for landing and the bug was sitting around 200IAS where I did not set it, so very curious behavior. I thought the bug should remain in the place I placed it. Anyway just asking if this is normal behavior.
  15. Hi guys, two missions in a row and my game froze pulling out of a dive of a TGT with the F14B. Each time I was attacking a island in the gulf, four passes with bombs and then a run with guns. It was after the gun run during pull up the game froze for about 40 seconds and then sent me to the desktop. Went looking for a crash log but not found, maybe I was in the wrong file, but I thought that this new crash log was to come up automatically anyway any suggestions as to avoid this freeze or has it been reported already?
  16. Index Lights to dark Thats another +1 the HUD pitch ladder and symbols could use a boost of light too!
  17. Just tried CEPEA solution and it does not work for me changing background screen does not help. I posted two days ago about this there was no bug and problem section or I just missed it. I always load an extra screen file explorer so I can get to F 14 Manual and TrackIR But upon exit from F 14 I get a black screen and lose access to File explorer Task manger can be called up but it remains a black screen. On my mini monitors I can see the task bar and even then accessing it (task manger) it still will not exit, file explorer is there with same results, and hard shutdown is only way out. Edit: Just shutdown system, and restarted, had to exit and it work, apologies to CEPEA, however since this morning update using the link to forum,(the little box that pops out with news) it takes forever to load, very strange, just a comment no bug.
  18. Since I loaded the F 14 B, when I exit I get a black screen, and it does not clear itself. I go to Task Manager and hit Crtl/Alt/Delete and get the blue screen with I think 4 options. I select Task manger and nothing happens. Looking at my min screens I see the icon on the task bar and select that and it still will not CLOSE. Still left with a black screen, I have to restart computer to get back to win 10. It appears to occur in two situations. if you allow the game to go to sleep i.e. no activity for 5-10 minutes or exiting from the game. On accession it will allow me to exit without problems at all but of late it goes to black screen, task manger entered, but no response. Now I usually load, file explorer, F 14B manual, Track IR (v5.0), Warthog, DCS Open Beta I run win 10 with all updates. I run file explorer so that I can access just about anything on my desktop. Other than that nothing else. Has anyone been experiencing the same problem and if so how did you solve it.? There seems to be no bug log so moderator place it where you thing appreciate. Just looking for an answer. On a Side note the Heatblur folks have set a new standard for model release, early access!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, my god what a job, I love this sim, boy if they can make the A6E anything like the coordination in the F14B I be the first to buy it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway hoping for a solution. WeakLink
  19. I think Xilon X is missing the point of the Sim, I flew as a Navigator in the B-52 for 20 years and enjoyed it as I now look back on it and I personally miss the excitement of it all,. For some here they never flew a combat aircraft or rarely seen one, not every place get a airshow. I know Xilon X means well but, until he can cop with kill that TGT or died trying he will never know the challenge, to perform at critical moments and do it right, you only get one shot at. I'm retired now and the thrill is gone, but these Combat sims are relaxing to me Hell now I can have a SAM 2 shot at me and not worry about dying!!!!!! WeakLink
  20. Hi Guys I have been trying to get the AGM 65 F to lock and launch, here is what I have found, After warm up timer has expired and AG selected and ARM is activated, DDI left and sensor to left control I can move the TDC no problem but it will drift a bit. However to get the sucker to lock and launch, (after watching Wags video) it just would not work. I just tried to move TDC over TGT, Depress TDC lock finally got the HUD to remove the (X) off the MAV indicator on HUD, no LKD indication but the sucker locked and left the rails. So for my warthog I HAVE TO SLEW, lOCK TGT, THEN FIRE IT WILL NOT LOCK AUTOMATICLY After launch it returns to caged position and you have to sight again. Just my two cents Just flew another msn and this time the triangle locked out near the FOV for the HUD, control was at first vertical once near HUD ladder and center the Horizontal movement broke lose, got to aim on TGT pushed TDC and no lock. Passed over the island line up on a ship switched to ship mode locked (no X ) and still no lock indication and fired no problem. Roll around back toward the island locked up TGT after struggling to get the triangle on the tgt, depressed TDC and nothing, no lock, no lock indication did not fire. rolled around again 10 mi out struggled with aim marker again, got it centered, depressed TDC, got a lock this time after switching from BLK back to White and fired and off it went. I think there is a problem or too with the AGM 65F, just my option, even the snakeyes , and the slick MK 82 are a little dicey to use. Again just my two cent
  21. Check out You tube just type in DCS static object on carrier and You should find Several RedKite and the 104th Sqn. by Maverick have two of the best on placing objects on the deck of the carrier view them both and you will be set. Weaklinkl
  22. Carrier Tacan not transmitting I watched the video you are talking about and it teaches you how to set up carrier Tacan for continuous broadcasting it was made by the 104th Sqn. by Maverick good video, easy to follow and works for me. Take a look and take a few notes as you go and DONE! DCS Mission Editor/How to setup carriers and Tacan and ICLS//// go to You Tube and search for DCS F 18 carrier tacan again good video. WeakLink
  23. coldViper thanks for the reminder, read it long ago and had forgotten about it. I read that Wags had resolved the export problem or it was on the way and with the change in the System page I assume he had activated that change. The last time I tried to activate my 2 MFD's with the A-10C model I got 1/3 screen missing and could not access the EXIT button to get out of it and that was crazy. Had to write the developers to get out of it so I could even play DCS. So I was hoping that Wags had solved the export problem. I guess I will have to take another look at that post and see what I can do with it. Thanks for the reminder.
  24. Exporting thrustmaster MFD's Hi guys Need a little help on exporting MFD's to the Thrustmaster 5" displays. The thread says the DDI's are exportable now but when I go in to game Systems (in game) I see the following in the dropdown list for monitors SYSTEM Monitors----------------- 1 screen (selected) (choice)------------------3 screen (not selected) camera + LMFCD --------(on right side) camera + LMFCD camera + LMFCD automatic placement camera + RMFCD _______(on left side) camera + RMFCD camera + RMFCD automatic placement MFCD Stereo ________________________________________________ Resolution ______________1920x1080 Aspect Ratio-------------------16:9 Cockpit Displays---------------1024 So to get the MFD's to display in the F 18 sim which program do I need to select? And is there any thing else, that I have to do to get the screens to display the in cockpit DDI's. I'm not a computer nerd so a little help would be great help. Been searching on the forum and found a post that " stated monitor set up make sure script is using Left_MFCD and Right_MFCD viewport labels" but that is not listed in the dropdown list, so I need a little help, hell I need a lot of help!!!
  25. Well after T/O I do slow down and in fact I use turn short for mission timing, on top of that there are two long legs of approx. 100 miles long where speed slows to 250 KCAS, @ 17,000 I would think that would cover his fuel burn but, have not seen any improvement in reaching TGT area. There is a low level entry to TGT but again a 300 KCAS airspeed, I still think a drop tanks call might help with drag experienced in the AI ('s) walking distance.
