  2. You have to know that TrackIr is only smooth at 60 or 120 fps because the camera is at 120hz. On my 144hz Gsync monitor I have to set it at 120hz in windows (nvidia control panel). The problem of trackir stutter at frequencies different from 60 and 120 is the same on all games (assetto corsa for example). The guys who tell that TIR is smooth at 144hz on their rig are false. Then DCS: Like said in the 1st post, you have to limit DCS at 60 fps (120 would be great but with a I7 8700k + 32GB Ram + 1080Ti i can't sustain 120fps everywhere on caucasus and PG). 90 fps would be great too but with a lot of stutter due to trackir in cockpit view (external views are smooth at 90fps except if you use TIR in external views...) To limit DCS at 60fps: Vsync On if monitor set at 60hz Or Nvidia inspector_ frame rate limiter: 60fps Or Graphic.lua (dcs/config): .... .... ... set_max_fps at 60 (180 initially!) Or Set 1/2 Vsync On (1/2 monitor frequency) if monitor at 120 Hz. Hope it will help some guys
  3. Thank you for your answer! @Goa: i will suscribe the petition. What a pity to have such a great monitor and not be able to use its power...
  4. Hello Guys, Has someone solved this stutter issue between 61 and 119 fps? I purchased a 165hz G sync 2K monitor yesterday and DCS is soooo smooth at 120fps (when monitor set at 120hz) but when FPS are dropping under 120, turning the head in the cockpit is full of stutter. And like other guys, turning the view with numpad is still smooth even under 120 fps but not with TIR. I Have a I7 8700K, 32GB Ram, DCS on SSD, GTX 1080Ti. I am not able to sustain constant 120fps on Caucasus map and I am very disapointed to be obliged to set my monitor to 60hz in order to avoid stutter issue...
  5. Polychop and me will perform a test flight tonight. They seem to be very open-minded and they want to enhance the FM of the Gazelle. We have already spoken on Discord yesterday and the work in front of them will probably be huge, according to what I've told them... so we will have to be patient for the result.
  6. I don't elaborate because english language is a mountain in front of for me to explain something so specific to non pilot guys. @borchi: glad to speak with you. I will send you a message and I think the best way to explain my complaint about the FM would be to fly together on DCS one evening and to speak on Discord during this explanation flight. I've just made a last test flight with the gazelle in order to prepare our flight together with points to discuss (now I have to begin the translation into english... google is my friend). There are 4 points to discuss: 1: behaviour of the frame under the rotor 2: correspondence between the cyclic position and the attitude of the helicoptere 3: attitude during big movement of the collective lever (roll and pitch) 4: lack of inertia. Apparent weight especially at maximum TakeOff weight... I am really happy if we could work together in order to improve this beautiful chopper. All the DCS community will be able to access these impovements.
  7. Hello Frag, You have to put some expo (30%) and saturation Y at 70 maximum. But I have tried a lot of settings and I don't find one which is good at all speeds. And just to add something. A friend of mine was test pilot in Eurocopter (now Airbus helicopters). He is the one who developped the Tiger. He flown the gazelle 2500hours and told me the gazelle in DCS was bad FM (I play DCS with his son). I have waited for the helicopter bundle one month ago to buy the Mi8 and to finally test the gazelle. He told me that I would be disapointed....And he was right. This is a never ending post. The FM is bad for those who want something realistic and good for those who want fun. Envoyé de mon SM-A320FL en utilisant Tapatalk
  8. Good or not too bad? That is the question. I want something good Some other people just need something not too bad Envoyé de mon SM-A320FL en utilisant Tapatalk
  9. The blades are the same as the As555 on which I have now more than 2800hours of flight. So I know the behaviour... Sas/autopilot is absolutely not the problem. I have a lot of friends in ALAT (we learned To fly together and we are playing DCS together since Blackshark 1), and no one like the FM of the gazelle, they all fly the Mi8. Try to fly at approximatively 100kts with the gazelle in DCS and reduce the throttle and check the behaviour of the gazelle. The Left rolling is a big mistake and very binary coded in DCS. Try to take quickly a 30 degrees climb at high speed: big mistake in the behaviour too. Its still like a rc model. The gazelle has been coded like it was 1000kg lighter than the real one. Continue to enjoy flying it in DCS. I am happy for you For me it's impossible because there are too many mistakes and no need to be a helicopter pilot to see that. For the VR, in order to answer to the last post, yes I've tried in DCS and it is very realistic. With the Mi8 when I fly it in VR, I have the same feelings like IRL. The landings between trees/buildings are very cool in VR. Close formation flying in VR is also very realistic and in my squadron we are learning it to the young pilots (day and night with NVG) and I was thinking of trying to use DCS in VR to replace our very bad simulator which is a real cockpit but with a 180degrees screen....so we have no distance perception. I also tried to land on ships in VR and this exercice is also very nice and very realistic in dcs (with the Mi8). It could also be an appication in my squadron because we often land on ships IRL but young pilots only discover it later in there carreer.
  10. Yes it is true :-) But all the french military pilots begin in the same school in Dax (all the Armee de terre, armée de l'air, marine nationale and gendarmerie pilots). And if you check google perhaps you will find that 14years ago, all the french student pilot like me learned to fly on SA341 Gazelle :-) After one year and aproximatively 135/150hours of flight, we go to Le Luc En provence for the CPL/IR ME qualification on the As555 Fennec and the we return in our Armée to continue the operational learning. I am now instructor on AS555 Fennec in Orange Airbase for the young pilots who are leaving Le Luc en provence. Now in Dax there are no more Gazelle... There are H120. I don't understand why there is such mistrust in this forum or perhaps just on this post... Perhaps jealousy... so sad to be like that instead of shearing our passion for military aircrafts...
  11. And? What is the purpose of lying? I am only sharing my experience to explain that the FM is not real and very far from the real Gazelle.
  12. Hello guys, I am helicopter pilot in the French Air Force. I learned to fly on the gazelle 14 years ago and now I am instructor on another model. I am very very very disapointed with the gazelle FM.... It is ugly... It's like a rc model for me. I am sad because I have expected a lot in the gazelle in DCS in order to feel again the sensation of my first helicopter. Nevertheless the 3D aspect and the cockpit are very great. I really hope polychop will improve FM and they have a LOT of job! Mi8 and Ka50 are for me the best FM
  13. Yes it's weird to have stutters with my rig. I only have some stutters when looking at 3 or 9 o'clock and coming back quickly at 12. (Perhaps a TIR issue but with 4 pre rendered frames it disappears. ) and yes I have no input lag, my bombs are on the target in CCIP, the aircrafts and helos are still nice flyable.
  14. Hello guys, I have no more stutters thanks to the following tricks: 1- in nvidia control panel (or nvidia inspector) change the max pre-rendered frames to 4. 2- install the shaders mod for VR (you can easily find it on this forum). It works great even in non-vr . The link for the mod: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215373 I have a I7 8700k/32 GO Ram/ GTX 1080 Ti Even with a high end pc, you can have stutters.... I found the trick about the max pre rendered frames on an other forum about insurgency sandstorm and for me it works great also on DCS. No more stutters. With the shader mod for VR, I am now able to put all options on High/ultra with 1,5 SSAA on a 1080p screen and with constant 60fps. DCS is now very very smooth. Conclusion for my rig: First trick = no more stutters Second trick = I am now able to run DCS with max options. I think you can try it independantly. I hope that it will help some people. Sorry for my english... Dam
  15. Hello, very interesting comparison. Did you take a look at "graphic.lua" in the root directory of DCS? I can't open it now cause i am on my phone but i remember that you can change some distance settings manually. I have opened this file twice in order to change the screenshot quality
  16. Hi, I don't know why but I am unable to download this ranger pack... It starts then it stops after 5 or 10Mo downloaded. Is there an other link or server? thank you
  17. hello, here is my log file. thank you dcs.log-20180220-164607.zip
  18. Hello everyone, (sorry for my english) I am playing the open beta with no problem for 3 weeks but this afternoon, I don't understand why, the game crash when loading (before the main menu). I have deleted the "option.lua" file and succeeded to restart the game in windowed mode. But as I select the full screen mode in the option menu, the restart shortly and crash.... So I tried to start a mission a windowed mode, it works but the gale crash when I press "Alt+Enter"..... Any idea? Thank you
  19. @Riven: did you try to press Alt+Enter when in game (not in the menu but in mission/training/multi etc...). DCS sometimes runs in windowed mode but you don't see it and even with 100+ fps the game stutters a lot. Hope it will help
