The Lightning was unmatched from brakes off to 50,000 feet until the F15 showed up. There is a famous tale of a Lightning intercepting a U2 on a exercise. A dangerous thing to do as the pilot in question had no pressure suit and was relying on the aircraft to maintain cabin pressure. The Lightning was renowned as one of the most fun but challenging jets to fly. It would be a interesting addition in DCS.

Thrusmaster Warthog throttle wiring required
MrPiper replied to MrPiper's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks guys for your input. Its appreciated. A kind guy in the community is sending me some wiring. Just goes to show what a great bunch some people are in this hobby. -
Hi Guys, I have tried to contact Thrustmaster support on this matter but get no reply. I have a Thrustmaster warthog hotas which has a broken wire running from the throttle metal pinkie switch and auto pilot button to the board. I need to replace the wiring ribbon which comes with the something with the right amount of wires and correct plug to plug into the board. Do you guy know where I can source this as Thrustmaster are ignoring my requests for help and I have no idea where to source this item. Thanks in advance for any help. Piper

Great job on the Harrier Guide. Thanks for your dedication. It makes the learning curve shallower, but personally, I find your guides invaluable for a refresh on a aircraft I haven't flown for a while.

As stated by many. Not a great idea to offer simplified existing modules of the same aircraft. There is a element of DCS flyers that look down on FC3 but please ED,don't let this influence your decesion in pressing forward with this idea as you think it's best as existing flyers are looking down their nose. I know new players are important and there is a huge benefit to offering FC4 but not in this vein. This really does blur the lines and sets up two camps within the same community. I can see two camps evolving and many servers excluding FC4 aircraft for the reason of fairness. Is this how you want the community to develop? At the moment it is easily justified to mix aircraft but many, simplified versions of full modules is a hard to justify as a fair mix in one server.I know MP is not the be all but it is one of the major elements. It maybe cheap,,easily and quickly appeal to the new and existing FC3 only players, but you will not make many sales with existing full module flyers. Long term,as stated new FC4 aircraft benefits everyone including ED, so why after taking so much time with maps, engines, explosions, effects etc cut corners on FC4? How many lost sales of full modules would happen after FC4? We need new blood but maybe listen and think about this one.

F-14 May Development Update -- Campaigns & Content!
MrPiper replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Information is building. One of the most anticipated DCS releases. I can't wait! -
Seems a good compromise between protection and letting legitimate users have access. Nothing will be perfect but the truth of the world is that some people will seek something for nothing and as a legitimate user who has spent many $ on modules and maps I am all for protecting future development whilst enabling me to use DCS without internet.

It seems a few of us have a ongoing stutter issue. I opened a bug report many months ago on the official tracker as it got so bad.LLC did make some suggestions for me to try which did not work and it was decided it was related to my track IR. My other modules run fine. I have slightly less but constant stutter in 2.5 with still no resolve and a open bug report. Currently no further reply from LLC I am hoping it will be fixed when they do the big overhaul as it is such a brilliant module and is a shame I have to limit my flying time in it.

Good point Red. Always happy to help.:) I do have a SSD. I have tried lowering my settings and doing all suggested. It goes away when changing the AI units from Third Reich Armour to different AI units. I am running the current Open Beta 2.5 Version.
-
Thanks for your replies guys. I do have a ssd and no programs running. It is caused by adding Third Reich Armour. Especially if the AI is travelling. Take the Armour out and it stops. Would ED know about this bug, by this thread on the forum or is there a place to report it?

Hey, I have been building a mission in Normandy and keep running into a problem with a constant stutter at equal 3 second interval when adding more than a few AI units. My P.C spec is at the recommended level. Anyone else been seeing this?

Thanks for the update. You can sense the excitment for this project within the community. The Co-op campaigns really adds value to the package, especially for squadrons looking to operate this aircraft as a group. I may have missed it,but is there any update on the Carrier? From the original update it sounded quite ground breaking and expect most operations will be centred around it.

The DEMONS Hello Virtual Pilot, We are a friendly, small group of DCS enthusiasts who fly our own built missions and as a team on public servers. We are based around 0 Zulu (GMT) time zone. A wide range of modules are owned and flown through the Squadron from WW2,helicopters to the modern jets. We aim to be effective in a multiple of roles and enjoy the variety of piloting and functions that DCS offers. The ethos of the group is fun, structured flying without being too serious, but serious enough to have a realistic/authentic feel. Our aim is to improve teamwork, become a effective fighting group, but most of all, to enjoy the flying. We are presently recruiting new members who want to fly at least a squadron session a week-learn modules, fly missions, train to become a effective member and share friendly banter or information on DCS. Beginners to seasoned veterans are very welcome to apply. Experience or ability are not as important as enthusiasm to be involved and a friendly nature. We are happy to help anyone who requires assistance and expect members of the group to support each other as it''s the Demons ethos. We only require you to have a joystick and mic. If you are interested, please private message me through this forum, with your name or callsign,DCS experience, modules owned, favourite module or modules, time zone, and any other information you feel is relevant. The DEMONS "Go to Heaven for the climate,Hell for the company"
