Put simply, the refuling probe at night works with its red light bulb. However it does not light up anything else than the basket when 1m away. And the angle seems to far inward. Was it like that in real life. I was hoping for light hitting the tanker helping you to see what you were flying in formation with. I am hoping that is a work in progress issue. Seems to me the whole lighting thing in and around the Tomcat is to dim overall.

Can verify that human RIO selects the correct flight profile on the drum selector. The MK83 miss by a large margin. So do MK84 and other bombs. The really weird part, that messes with my head, is that Jester gets it right. How, beats me. My guess is that two or more profiles are mixed up on the drums backend simulation. So a MK83 is really something else, causing us to miss. Grumman should have made that drum larger, but that is really off topic an in no way a bug. So... human RIO selects visualy what looks like the correct selection but fails, but Jester nailes it. Go figure.

[FIXED] Jester bug - incapacitated but menu remains?
Ducksen replied to Robert31178's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes I can confirm this. If Jester dies, then menu is stuck. -
I like the points of view here. Educated and thought through points. Looking forward to hearing from Heatblur on this. Like mentioned, most likely a sync issue. As it stands now, the pilot has to choose to either pull g's to avoid a missile or fly straight and have the rio deploy correct cms. #%/+%#! The missile is too close, sorry buddy, nighty night. :) And by the way, Jester is superhuman. He never blacks out. ;) neat party trick.

I use Vive VR as a pilot and the human rio in this case was using a flat sceen solution. We noticed that I as a pilot could withstand G forces and have the light slowly dim on me as moe G loads were applied. Normal function. My poor rio had instant blackouts as soon as I started feeling the G strain. As soon as my edges got slightly darker my human rio was out cold, aka black screen. Instant. We have not testet reverse roles. Anyone else here who can verify this? All people have different G-tolerance, but does it have to be simulated so rio blacks out way before the pilot? Don't get me wrong, opposite would be worse ;) Mainly I wish to know if this is a bug or an intended feature...

Absolutely! It seems that the F14B and other aircrafts are not bound to the carrier like they should. Some aircraft move more than others. The more the boat rocks in the ocean, the more the aircrafts move. It is like it is not linked to the carrier. And regardless of moving or not, wheel chocks are wanted. Seems to me to be a natural part of startup, loading of munitions, fueling, repair and shutdown.

This would be nice. NVG for all planes that are modern ish. However, I do see the dilemmas...on both sides... Planes that did not have NVG's and the notion that they do need it. They are now up against other opponents than they did in the day. Kind of...ish.

Same or me in VR It is set off to the left like first picture. It works 100%, just offset.

The exterior lights like the nav lights and collision lights are way to dim. They are hard to see. Don't get me wrong, I see them as a single point when close. They seem to dissipate as soon as you are just a few feet away from the aircraft. I think the flash of the collition lights on the tail tips should light up the ground a bit at night. And the navlights should show on the environment a bit. And when flying at night finding your friends you should see the nav lights if they are on. Now they are to dim. On the same note, the color of the green navlight seems a bit to blue... That might be my video card doing that, or that the real F14 had a more blue ish color to it. Somehow I doubt that due to regulations.... The formation lights work just fine, awesome!

When the pilot or the RIO makes communication with the DCS AI coms menu it is only heard by the one making the call. So if the Pilot would contact ATC to ask for start up clearance ONLY the pilot would hear that. And same is true if RIO does the same. The outgoing call or incoming reply is only heard by one. Other AI communication like aircraft passing waypoints are heard by both as pr design. So comms work. It is preferred that communication is shared if radio is tuned correctly. It helps immersion. Hope Eagle Dynamics improves the ATC and carrier AI soon. But that is another thread entirely. :)

If the RIO talks to the ground crew and orders a load out for the tomcat. It will load the aircraft visible for the RIO. But for the Pilot nothing happens. Both players in the same aircraft, but with different "versions" of loadouts. ONLY when the pilot orders a loadout does the loadout sync like it should. Suggestion: So, ether make it impossible for the RIO to order a loadout or make it so both can load it out. This can be a DCS bug, at the time of posting I have no idea where it happens, in DCS or in the F14.

When the pilot and RIO goes through the pre start checklist, one thing on the list is to see that all lights illuminate. When the pilot sets the switch in the LTS test position the lights illuminate all over the cockpit for the pilot, but not for the RIO. It works 100% fine as single player switching between front pilot and RIO seats. But in multiplayer the light test does nothing for the RIO's cockpit. Same situation for testing the fuel gage. For the RIO the fuel should read 4000lbs (if full) during the test. It does not move out of the fuel total value IE 16200lbs (or what fuel is on board). Checklists are an immersing part of simming. Hope to see that fixed.

[10MAY2019] DCS INTERCOMMUNITY EVENT: Real War - Operation Moonlight
Ducksen replied to Satarosa's topic in Community News
Hi. Seems to me the red side is kind of taken care of. So stick me in blue somewhere. I can be GCI on BRA duty Commander JTAC with 9 line and IP's ATC if thats your thing :) Or if you need more planes in the air insted, well.. Put me inn a: M2000C F15C A10C F5E Event creators choice Hope to join in on the fun :) -
Cool, thanks for info.

I hope the notice this and come up with a fix. What brings this great sim to life is one part due to environment and weather. Thanks for getting on board with this issue guys, I hope the devs notice.

The new improved anti collision lights are awesome. However they flash right through objects that should be solid. Like the body of an aircraft it is attached to. The whole cockpit flashes up. It would be more natural if the edges of the canopy would reflect the light instead of entire cockpit. Look at it, you will quickly understand what I mean. On a side note; I love they have become more visible and flashy. Thanks! Just make solid objects solid.

When one wants to adjust the seating position with the mousewheel in VR it will not move. It has worked fine. And it does for ALL other aircraft. After the update it no longer works. Try this: Double click the mouse wheel and roll it. The seating position in VR should move you forwards or backwards. It no longer works on AV8B.

Using VR Vive. With the weather setting for fog and cloud cover with a density 9 and 10 will make the fog turn blue. As soon as cloud cover is 8 or below the fog is gray like it should. The blue fog makes the whole world look alien. Like Venus or something. I was hoping that would be fixed with the Persian gulf map. Se images from Batumi. They are from the same time of day same place, and same settings. Only difference is cloud cover. Cloud cover 10 and cloud cover 8. This is just to make it visible what I mean. I have waited for this fix since the yellow fog was a problem. Hope it will be fixed. This problem goes for open beta and stable version. Thanks Ducksen
