I'm certainly not requesting that Heatblur models the Iowa-class, nor do I feel entitled to it. But I did find it curious that both campaigns specifically called the class out as contributors in the campaigns (real-world for PG, fictional for C). It made me wonder if there was already intent to include them.
-
Unfortunately, they would not be appropriate for the Normandy map. By this point they had received their 1980s refit, which added Phalanx CIWS and TLAM box launchers, while removing several of the 5" gun turrets.

1987 in the Arabian Sea, I believe.

I was reading through the campaign backgrounds again, and something occurred to me. The Persian Gulf campaign references the Iowa-class battleships as tanker escorts, and the Caucasus campaign specifically calls out USS Missouri as part of the Battle Group. As far as I know, the Iowa-class currently only exists as a user mod. Are these warships going to be officially implemented as part of the campaigns?

Possible F-14 Texture Template release??
OnionSpider13 replied to The Thunderbird's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yeah, it'd be pretty neat I guess ;) -
Ugh I hate to sound greedy, but would there be an upgrade option for those of us who have already pre-ordered?

We are indeed recruiting! Head on over to the website hyperlinked in my signature. From there you can submit an application and/or join us on the Discord/Teamspeak. Tell them CDR Swivel sent you!

I've heard really good things about Heatblur for a while now, but I am extremely impressed with their customer support. It's top-notch. -

How recently did you purchase it? My serial number did not work either for a while. I think I tried again the next day, and it finally worked. -

I opened the e-mail that I received from Heatblur, copied the product key, and put it in here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/licensing/coupon/ After that, it said something like "you've been given an F-14." Then I went to the F-14's module page: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/tomcat/ and the page states that I "already have a license for this product." It isn't showing up in the orders section on my profile though, probably because I didn't buy it through them. Hopefully this helps. -

Heatblur's website states that the shirts will ship in Q1 2019, and that they'll send out an e-mail concerning how to select your shirt and size. -

And when I go to the F-14 module page, it says that I already have a license for this product. I'm guessing it doesn't show up on your ED order page because if you bought through Heatblur, you didn't actually order from ED. -

Samesies. I input the code and it said that the F-14 was added to my account, but it didn't show up in my list. I tried it again and it said the "coupon was already used." I'm sure it'll show up in there sooner or later. -
Yeah I bought the module and the shirt from the Heatblur website, and I had the same issue with downloading the product key. No worries, I'm sure they'll get it worked out before winter.

** DCS: F-14 Development Update - September!! **
OnionSpider13 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I'm so excited for this! Guess I'm quitting my job soon. -
The amount of effort and passion that you guys are obviously putting into this module astounds me. It seems like this level of workmanship is definitely lacking in many products being released today. Another huge thank you, Heatblur! You're making a dream come true for so many of us who, due to the cruelty of time, didn't come into this world early enough to fly this baby in real life!

CVW-8 is now recruiting pilots for VFA-201! Selectees will have the opportunity to train on the F/A-18C and learn carrier operations. Pilots within VFA-201 will all transition to the F-14B (VF-31 and VF-213) once the module is released. Check us out at https://www.cvw-8.org/!

Wow, I never thought I'd say this.....but yes! I want the D! Give me the D!

I noticed a little bit ago that Heatblur was offering the AJS-37 Viggen module and the limited edition t-shirt as a package deal. Is there a similar offer that is being considered for the F-14 release? Also, it sounds like there might be multiple designs available. Any word on what these might look like?

Thank you, Heatblur! This is literally a dream come true for all of us who came into this world too late to fly the Tomcat!

Syrian and Afghan theatre of operations confirmed!
OnionSpider13 replied to WHOGX5's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'd pay good money to get a Syrian/Lebanese map set in the mid-80s, along with the 1980s refit of USS New Jersey. -
It's really more of a Permissive TDY than a field trip.
