  1. So, I was getting annoying with skin packs (the limited number we have) overwriting the previous skins, so, I combined all of the skin packs together (config file wise) The following four files (db_countries, Ka-50.skins, Ka-50.lua, and graphics.cfg) will allow you to have Mitchs awesome skin pack, ED Christmas Skin Pack, Ka-50 Digital Ka-50 DOSAAF and my Canadian Camo Pack installed at the same time. Basically you want to install the skins one at a time, then use the following four files which have been modified to allow all of the skins to play nice together) This will only work if you have all 4 packs.
  2. hmm, what do yuo have the cockpit gracphics set to? I'm running at 1920X1200 and have the cokcpit set to 1024 and its pretty damn close to photo realistic
  3. What are you trying to do with them? It doesn't matter where they go as long as you know. After you make your changes and create your skins you'll have a couple of options. 1. Convert them to .BMP and modify the names so they match an existing skin. You can then copy the files into the Bazar > TempTextures file and the game will use those for that skin when selected 2. Convert them to .BMP, then convert them to .CDDS and manually edit 4 files with notepad. This is alot more work, but won't overide any in game skins.
  4. Ya, that was one of the first ones I tried to, but nope. I've made all of the .bmps flat black, and the exhuast is still silver.
  5. Hi guys... I've been trying to track down the .bmp that holds the engine exhausts....so far unsuccessfully. I've checked every .bmp that is reference in the ka-50.skins file to no avail. I took all 10 files from the template, as well as extracting an 11th from an existing .cdds file (KA-50-PAINT3.bmp) and made them all a flat black with no layers. Made a nice stealth attack helo......with silver/grey engine exahusts. (see attached) Anyone have any other ideas where the file may be hiding?
  6. Updated Skins. I've been working on my skins and have made some minor corrections and changes. Most notibly correcting some of the colors from the default to match (ie window frames) These will be uploaded to lockonfiles, they will end up being Version 1.2. http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=159&lid=1282&title=Ka-50%20Canadian%20Camo%20Pack%20V1.2#dldetails
  7. Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone could answer a couple of questions IRT Modman. Right now I have 3 skins I've made and posted on lockonfiles. These need to be manually added and if you just copy the supplied files over, will overwrite any existing skin mods you may have. My main question is if you can use Modman to create skin packs and when you install them if it will automatically create the additions required in the necessary files. (example, I create a skin and convert it to a cdds file. Will modman allow me to name it, select the countrys that it will be available in and automatically assign it the proper sequential number when making the Ka-50.skins and Ka-50.lua files? Or is it limited to packaging files you prepare ahead of time? The ID numbering is the big one, since they have to be sequential. So If I want to manually add mulitple skin packs I need to manually adjust the ID numbers when I do it. (this is time consuming and annoying and I'm hoping theres an easy automated way around it, especially for people that just want to add abunch of skins easily) Any info much appreciated. Thanks, Fred
  8. I've uploaded the pack to lockonfiles.com. Just waiting for it to be validated.
  9. Notepad is all thats required, but yes it covers it
  10. Esac, Heres what I did. 1. Make you custom skin using the KA-50 template. Once done, convert it to a BMP. 2. Using CDDS studio D convert the BMP for your skin to a .cdds file (see excellent tutorial from this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33008&highlight=.cdds 3. Once you have your .cdds file, you'll need to add it to KA-50.skins file (eagle Dynamics > Ka-50 > Bazar > World > Shapes) This is covered in the above tutorial 4. Then you'll need to add your skins to the db_countries file (Eagle Dynamics > Ka-50 > Scripts > Database)(you'll add yours in the Russia section) You'll also need to use an ID generator to make custom ID at this stage. (also covered in the tutorial) 5. You then need to add the information to the Ka-50.lua file (Eagle Dynamics > Ka-50 > Scripts > Database > helicopters) 6. You'll also need to add the .cdds file names to the graphics.cfg file (Eagle Dynamics > Ka-50 > Config) The tutorial linked in the above thread covers most of it in great detail. Cheers, Fred
  11. Esac, yes they are added, they do not replace anything. There is a link in one of the skin files to a cdds tutorial, which is what I used along with this forum. While its not a hard process, it is long and drawn out as you need to edit 4 different files and use a few programs to make the .cdds files and some ID's. I'll see if I can find the link. Popov, I sent you 3 emails. One for each skin (due to size) The 1st one is the smallest (the Navy one with a readme) Hopefully they'll make it through and hopefully you can decipher my readme :)
  12. What I did was to convert the PSB files to BMP, then convert them to .cdds. I ended up with a .ccds file for each skin. (CADPAT/Desert/Navy) I then added the required info to the 4 files (db_countries/KA-50.skins/KA-50.lua/graphics.cfg) so the skins would show up when Russia is selected. I'm not sure how the modman works yet. (although I'm looking into it) What I could do is send you the .cdds file with a readme of what you need to add in the various files so you could just cut and paste it in. If I just put the files up, they'd overwrite your existing ones and any skins you may have already added.
  13. I'll put another vote in for the FFB2. If mine ever dies I'm not sure what I'll do. You can get them off ebay, but the price is astronomical.
  14. Hey Popov, thanks for the comments. I have no problems uploading them, just need to find a host. Also, not sure the best way to add them. Right now I've made them .cdds files and just added them to Russia to select them, but you still need to add the info into 4 different files....
  15. So I've been playing around with making some skins for Canada. Here's what I have so far. I did one for our CADPAT, one for Desert, and since I'm in the Navy, I did a Naval one as well. What do you guys think? Updated skn pack available at lockfiles http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=159&lid=1282&title=Ka-50%20Canadian%20Camo%20Pack%20V1.2#dldetails
  16. Did something similar.... Well, since this thread is about Canada :) Heres my attempt so far for a Canadian Skin. My 'Canada' is lower, just behind the gun and very hard to see. I also went with the Digital Camo. Merry Xmas.
  17. Hey guys, for you X52 users, is it possible to plug in just the throttle? Right now I have an X45 and a FF2 and I like to use the throttle from the X45 with the FF2. Unfortunately, the throttle has to plug into the X45 joystick, which plugs into the computer. Not a biggie, but it would be nice to be able to just use the throttle.
  18. First, kudus to the development team for incorporating such flexible and adjustable ingame joystick controls...... Now, does anyone happen to have a list (or know where I could get one) that matches up the buttons and axis listed in the ingame selections, to what they actually are on the x45? I could have sworn that it used to list them in the SST software, but it doesnt know, but it could be because I'm using Vista 64. Just for clarification, I'm talking about the game which says button_5 or joy rslider2.....which corresponds to what on the X45? The mains ones are easy enough, its all the extras that are killing me... Right now I'm picking one, starting a game, testing it, realizing its the wrong one, exiting game, and picking another one, etc, etc... Any help appreciated.
