I don't know of any helicopter crash, were the heli actually exploded. Why would it? Jet fuel can burn of course, but to explode you need a mixture of fuel and oxygen in a contained environment. Weapons will only explode if they are armed, or exposed to high temperature for long time. I think the explosions are more of a video game "feature" thing. :music_whistling: Once I tried to land a damaged Shark, I made a very smooth touchdown, but it exploded imedeatly when touching the ground. Reminds me of EECH a bit. :D

Well, I thik it would be even better to have enemy react on your presence and action. :megalol: Like looking for cover when being shot at...

Communicating with the ground crew while 'hot'
DocNobby replied to Doc. Caliban's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Make sure you don't move. Apply wheel brakes. Sometimes you're rolling very slow, then groundcrew will not talk to you. :smartass: -
Wow, looks amazing Batou! Looking forward to your terrain!

what to do when your targeting laser burns out?
DocNobby replied to Bee_Sting's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I think there are two different lasers used. One for range finding (used for targeting guns) and one to guide the missiles. If the missile laser burnes out it should be repaired when you fly back to base, shut down and wait for 3 minutes. -
Jup, that's exactly what it does. You can do it manual to. Press trim button, come to hover, push left or right pedal so the chopper is not rotating anymore, release trim button, release peddals and stick. The god thing about the manual method is, it works even if there's strong wind. In strong wind conditions the 20% yaw authority of the AP may not be enough to maintain heading. In this case you may need to trim the rudder "against" the wind forces. :joystick:

Hehe, der war gut! :megalol:

Well, zeroed isn't always the way to go. :D When my chopper is tuning right, i press the trimm button, apply left rudder until the tuning stopps and then release the trim button. Don't look at the trim indicator, just trimm the chopper so flies the way you want it to. :joystick:

1.0.1 Localized Versions Avaialble for Download
DocNobby replied to Legolasindar's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Localized versions available! Finally the patches for the locallized versions of BS hve been released! I must admit, that I felt kinda lonley in the last weeks in MP, cause there were very few (if any) servers still running the unpatched version. Seems like the multiplayer community is reunited. I'm looking forward to some kick a$$ sessions tonight! :D -

Absolutley! I always thought the longbow simulations feel somewhat arcadish! You magicly see all targets on your radar, have perfect IFF and can fire hellfires at multiple targets. Now, that may be realistic (don't know) but it's centenly not a challange (in my opinion ofcourse)!

Jup. Ich hätte es eigentlich wissen müssen. War ja schon bei Falcon 4.0 so, dass die deutsche version irgendwann nicht mehr gepatcht wurde. Dann musste ich mir sowiso noch die englische kaufen.
