The new HMCS is very cool. Particularly seeing friendly A/C, PPLIs, donor SPIs, etc. I wonder if we will also get this symbololgy on the HUD as well. Does someone know if this is planned? The code to implement this is obviously available.

Should we expect wednesday release?
dcs76 replied to laertesson's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Actually the HUD is supposed to have a similar symbology and should be able to show donor SPIs as well as friendly aircraft and PPLIs. -
Yes, the Dash-1 explains how to set markpoints and slew sensors while HMCS is SPI, but ED can still choose to not implement this which would be pretty disappointing. Seeing the TGP overlay in the HMCS would be the cherry on the cake, but I do not expect ED to implement this feature.

Before I taxi, I get a radio call from IP (who took off before) that I can stop AAR once I think I have enough fuel. This radio call is supposed to be triggered when I have joined with the tanker. Also, is the mission really that easy? I just killed the Jeep (HVT) with an AGM and that's it? On the Tacview replay I noticed AAA/SAM units spawning East and West of the HVTs location, but they neither engaged the helicopter nor me or my WM.
-
It does not have anything to do with god rays. I did not have this a couple months ago with the same VR. This was introduced with one of the later updates. I did not change anything bloom related in the graphics settings. It is still pretty annoying.
-
WM not engaging is a known bug with DCS wingman AI at the moment. Wingmen are useless most of the time if that happens. It is unclear what causes this behavior, but it is most prominent in mountainous areas.

I experience the same issue. Though Colt 1-2 eventually taxis and takes off after two other aircraft have been taken off. Those two other aircraft have been taxiing around while Colt 1-2 announced his taxiing to the runway. He let those two aircraft pass. I was already airborne (approaching WP2) long since then. I recommend to remove or delay the two aircraft blocking Colt 1-2 from taxiing. Having Colt 1-2 taxi and take off during his instructions is pretty annoying as his rolling, airborne and wheels up calls interrupt his lengthy briefings. Just for completeness: I am also running current OB. Stable version has been updated to be on par with OB recently so I expect this issue to be in stable as well. ED screwed up a couple of AI issues with taxiing with one of the last 2 or 3 updates and they have not yet fixed them entirely.

Here the link to the video at the time where everything goes down the drain:

Sorry, don't have the trk file. Replay of trk files is pretty unreliable in DCS, that' s why I usually do not save it. The amci file ready to be replayed in TacView can be provided though.

Just a few more notes: I was able to fly the mission once where Chevy 1-2 survived until landing at the LZ. I was unable to kill the AAA aproaching on the road and this one hit Chevy though. Also I checked mission file and tacview. Chevy flies at 250 ft AGL as they are supposed to. Still, Chevy 1-2 just crashes. Maybe Chevy 1-2 is out of fuel? Or Chevy 1-2 and 1-1 have a midair? It can't be due to me being slow though. I hit the SA-3 site with 4 MK82airs and took two more strafes for the remaining targets then continued right away. I entered the Range at CP ALPHA 20 minutes after mission start. At 26 mins the SA-3 was completely destroyed. At 30 min I was at IP to trigger the Escort mission. At 35 min all approaching threats have been eliminated. At 35:30 Chevy reports inbound 1 mike. 15 seconds later Chevy 1-2 reports being hit. I have a recording and will upload it tomorrow for review if required.
-
Recommend deviating the route Chevy takes a little so that they stay clear of any trees.
-
I tried it one more time. Destroyed all 4 targets before Chevy was even reporting to be inbound. Still Chevy 1-2 just crashed on the way to the LZ.
-
This mission is bugged on current OB. Helicopters are just going down without being shot at by anyone. I did destroy target 2 and target 3 very early. The target 4 was approaching on the road, but was still outside of its WEZ and did not shoot. No Red SAM/AAA shot at the Helis. They just hit the ground. I attempted the mission 3 times already with the same result. Also tried reinstalling the mission to no effect.

I want to see at least my Markpoint/steerpoint there. If I can't set markpoints on targets I am looking at, it is useless.

When can we expect more info about A-10C v2?
dcs76 replied to amalahama's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
I really hope we can use the UFC to switch radio frequencies/channels (and maybe even IFF stuff). This would be helpful in MP environments. No need to get heads down for radio work anymore. -
Any Good F/A-18 Supercarrier Missions out there?
dcs76 replied to CommandT's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Raven One by Baltic Dragon will be released soon and it will require Persian Gulf map and supercarrier. -
Jsut to clarify: I did use the night mode switch.
-
For a few weeks now I have this annoying glow effect on all cockpit related illumination. It is most annoying on the MFCDs and the HUD. During night, I am basicyll unable to see anything because of this, even when I reduce the light/brightness knobs to the absolute minimum. Here an examplefopr the HUD ion the F18. The glowing effect is also present during daylight. No other pilot in my squadron is experiencing this. What could cause this?

As said, it's a command line application. No GUI. -

Did you just double click it? You need to open it within the Command prompt as the program does not have a GUI. -
IRL the g-warm is not only to accomodate the body to the Gs, but also verify whether the equipment is correctly inflating to push the blood up.
-
I thought G-warm is consisting of two 90° level turns in either the same direction or in opposite directions instead of a 90° and then a 180° turn as described above. The two 90° turns is what Navy and USAF documents describe at least.

Quickest method to fire mavericks at multiple targets
dcs76 replied to RTS354's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Btw, Coolie Switch down has already the function to switch MFCDs and have a DSMS quick look. I use this function quite often shortly before running in to triple check that I selected proper weapon and profile and that everything is set up correctly. Maybe use something which is not used already like Mike switch up or Mike switch press. -
Quickest method to fire mavericks at multiple targets
dcs76 replied to RTS354's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Well it certainly is the smallest number of buttons to press to achieve this. The trick to bind the Steer rocker switch on a HOTAS button is neat for sticking to HOTAS controls, but it is nothing a real life pilot could do. My approach takes 6 button presses while one is pressed twice. It uses standard HOTAS controls. No remapping required: The setup is the same; create mark points and make it so that you can cycle through them. 1. Coolie switch UP (for HUD SOI) 2. DMS UP short (cycle to next WP) 3. CHINA HAT FWD LONG (for Slave all to STEER PT) 4. CHINA HAT FWD SHORT (for bringing up Maverick Display on right and make it SOI at the same time) 5. TMS UP SHORT (lock target) 6. Pickle Additionally, if the targets are close to each other and you can fire the Mavericks from the same rack, you can use quick draw in which case the second Maverick on the same rack is just automatically selected and its video is looking right at where the first Maverick was fired at. So you can use this by just having Mav SOI and after shooting tthe first Missile slewing the crosshair to the next target and pickle again. This requires only 2 control usages, but needs a little getting used to slewing properly.
