The one containing some checked valuables no doubt.

DCS isn't an infantry game. Are you honestly suggesting that armored vehicles react to air attack more accurately in A2? Rest assured I have more than a passing familiarity with the AI in that game.
-
Not that I'm interested in starting a flamewar but micromanaging the AI when making a DCS mission is only slightly less painful than doing so with the game you mention. Not to mention it's an entirely different game.

Guys. I have no problem with people swapping notes on how to fix TARS issues, obviously. But if you aren't submitting logs to the site (the log submission software was fixed back when the issue was reported, btw) then there's nothing I can do to help you. There is absolutely nothing I can fathom about the TARS/DCS integration that would require a full reinstallation of the software. Only by viewing the logfiles would I be able to assist you with this. Please submit your TARS logs when this stuff happens. There are two files that take about five minutes to zip up and send, they are documented in the TARS manual both in PDF format (when TARS installs) and online on the TARS website. In the past I have been very proactive as time has allowed in helping people with trouble, when they've submitted their logs. Thanks.

WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration
Headspace replied to Headspace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
It should work fine with TARS, actually. The control panel may just not detect it. As a general rule the prerelease betas of TS3 are not going to be "imprinted" onto the control panel with regularity. But you can manually install it by putting the plugin DLL into the plugin folder of TS3. -

I have created a public release of b9 (1.0.1b10) with very slight tweaks packaged with the installer. Go get it here. -

I created a prerelease version of the plugin for testing. Those who want to participate please download it here. Drop the correct version of it (64 or 32) into your Teamspeak 3 plugins folder, replacing your existing TARS. I need feedback on static and volume levels. Close together, and airborne at distance. Thank you. -

I'm not going to get into the technical details of that as it's DSP related. -

The current TARS works with TS3 3.0.0, which is their current public release. edit: Now that I've figured out what's going on expect to see a lot less static in the next one. -

33rd_Shark: Yes, I was considering that. Let me gather additional recordings from people before additional changes are made. I will just keep releasing betas until the largest number of people are satisfied with the sound. Since everyone hears differently it will be different for everyone. -

I'll make some adjustments but it would be helpful to have audio. Can any of you (who are having issues with static or inaudibility) make a recording? Be sure to specify the distances involved. Thank you. -

Teamspeak also has a "record" mode, if you want to send me a short recording of you guys talking at distance that would be cool too--I can analyze it. -

You want to make sure that the DLL (tars_64.dll or tars_32.dll depending on your platform) in the Teamspeak 3 plugin folder is version 1.0.1.8. Just check its properties. If you're still having weird issues definitely send me the log. We spent many hours testing this last night; my tester was 118 NM away and I could hear her fine at 32,000 feet. -

Should be virtually unchanged at so short a distance. Check to ensure you updated appropriately. Send logs if necessary, particularly your tars-plugin.log. -

New version of TARS (you will need the new TS3). Go to the TARS site to get it. -
Sounds like FEM anyway, which is super well-documented and used for all sorts of stuff (and has been for years). IIRC X-Plane utilizes some version of that for its modeling. Rise of flight's developers say they use it in their marketing slicks. You have discrete points. Moments are numerically calculated based on those points on the body based on a variety of factors. You mean like someone who would have a "collection" of these aircraft? A fighter collection of sorts?

What's your source? "Realistic enough" is pretty vague. Realistic enough for what?

Low observable is there to lessen the chances of detection and then engagement, not eliminate it. It isn't a cloaking device.

Yes I am aware, I am fixing it but in the meantime feel free to attach logs to a PM to me here in the forums. Thanks. Also attach your dcs.log as well. It can be found in C:\Users\(yourname)\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Logs.

Well, you're free to amicably disagree, however I don't buy the idea that being a stay at home parent to one child (and I say this as a parent--the one who always worked full time) takes anywhere near the level of effort that having a career does. I see that as a cultural myth. Staying home with your kid(s) is a privilege and it seems to me the dude's wife needs to respect his spare time because she has that privilege thanks to his hard work. Of course, that's as far as I'll take it since I don't want to turn the discussion into a debate. It's important that everyone get their needs met but it's equally important that people have realistic and non-selfish expectations of their spouses.

Because the plugin isn't getting anything from DCS and thus isn't activating. There is apparently a connection issue between DCS and Teamspeak 3. Try running TS3 with administrator privileges and looking at your firewall software, if any. It's localhost to localhost, so the issue shouldn't be a major one.
