Some airports have the surface type set to runway for a large radius away from the runway. This can cause scripting errors for mission creators when trying to spawn objects on land (as the map reportd them as a runway surface instead).

I had found always on top from Microsoft powertools as a work around, but it stopped recently. I purchase display fusion and set up a trigger to keep the window (dcs) in focus and it mostly works, I just need to tap the alt key when I go back to flying or else my controls don't respond. Its not as hard to setup as the above may sound. Your other option is to not run in full screen mode.

I'm very new at this and would like to add asound upon takeoff. I think it would be done setting up the user sound and usersound.createontakeoff features but I'm at a loss to where to start and place it in the moose script. if anyone can point me towards a tutorial I appreciate it! I've tried reading through the guide on these but I'm pretty lost and could really use an example to help me.

I'm noticing an error in the log: 2023-07-11 13:51:55.116 ERROR LuaHooks (Main): [string "C:\Users\Carmen\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta_server\Scripts\Hooks\DBSGameGUI.lua"]:232: bad argument #1 to 'gsub' (string expected, got nil) Seems related to the code that cleans up strings. Any thoughts?

Might be worth lowering mfd gain a lot, that didn't seem ti impact symbol brightness as much for me..

Posting here as well as in the discord, I found a workaround to allow you to keep DTC Overlayed on DCS in Full Screen mode. Download and install Microsoft Powertoys. In powertoy settings for "always on top" uncheck the box that disables it when game mode is on. Start DTC and use the shortcut (default windows key + control + t) to enable it to be always on top. Profit!

This looks great, quick question, should it be minimizing DCS when I turn on the app? I am running in full screen mode.

Ever find a solution to this? -
You the map maker commands just change it to 1.50 (or 60, ect) and it works for me.

[NO LONGER PASSES IC] Improved Contact Dot Spotting (Updated v1.1)
Padinn replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
Couple improvements if it was added to game officially 1.) Occluded by clouds- right now it seems to work through them 2.) Do not apply to missiles, people parachuting, ect. I think its great and allows me to properly enjoy DCS at 4k. I tested flying warbirds. -
Sadly no, I am on Windows 11. Checkmark seems intermittently effective for me.

[NO LONGER PASSES IC] Improved Contact Dot Spotting (Updated v1.1)
Padinn replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
Honestly at 4k this is so much better - I cannot state how much better it is. It needs further tweaking IMO for some edge cases, but I could actually find people flying with me yesterday and that is usually a MASSSIVE challenge. -
[NO LONGER PASSES IC] Improved Contact Dot Spotting (Updated v1.1)
Padinn replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
For me at 4k on a 42 inch TV this is a massive improvement in WVR. I think it would still need some tweaking to balance it out/make it a smooth transition, I noticed that when I zoomed in on aircraft it was a little smaller than the dot, so I'm not sure if that is intended. I rarely was able to spot things without a ton of assist and this made flying last night much more fun. Edit - this was on 1.0 release. -
Yes, I can change the orientation there. However, after rebooting PC, those settings are lost.
-
After reboot my displays reset their orientation and position. I have the driver and display link software installed. Is there a way for me to fix this?

MIP MFD displays don't retain orientation/position settings
Padinn replied to X-31_VECTOR's topic in Winwing
Same issue here. DisplayLink manager used to help, but not anymore. Any ideas on fix? In the win wing app, what does "start simapp pro and reset the display orientation and position to the former status" mean? -
I believe you may also be able to fix this by opening DCS Multithread, then hitting Windows+G to open Gamebar, clicking the settings cog, and checking "Remember this is a game." Testing on my X3D. It seems to focus more on the first 15 cores and park most of the others, though I did see one of them still in use.
