  1. I'll nominate Snowfox_Hun.
  2. Thanks, I was searching for 'war power' instead of 'War Emergency Power' which brings up the right results. Sorry for the redundancy!
  3. Does anyone know how to engage war power? It doesn't seem like it works with the standard throttle at full.
  4. Thanks for checking this Crunch. Good to know I'm not crazy:).
  5. Ok thanks - guess I should have checked the year of the previous post:). If you get a chance to try BS2, I'd be curious to hear if this is just a different set up or if I'm just doing something wrong. I don't like the way it feels right now in BS2.
  6. Crunch, When I change the Axis tuning to your values, the mini-stick no longer works, but when I just map the stick and leave the defaults it works fine. What am I missing? Thanks
  7. Has the patch screwed all this up for other people as well?
  8. EvilBivol-1, Can you speak to any fixes to the multimonitor setup? It's messed up in multiplayer now, and takes a lot of tweaking for single player right now. More options for what is on what screen would be great, too.
  9. I had the TIR 4 and now I have the 5. I have used both software on both models, and the software is just a different layout, it really has no functional difference with the basic TIR usage. As for whether the resolution difference changes things, all I can say is it makes a big difference in actual usage. Disagree if you will, but I have tested both. I would imagine people are going to try to convince themselves that it's not a big upgrade because they don't want to spend the money. That's fine, but in real usage I can tell you the TIR 5 is MUCH better.
  10. Let's not confuse the software with the actual unit. The software is for all models. Also, it's in beta, so you have to give them a little bit of a break on efficiently.
  11. My new TrackIR 5 just came in the mail. I upgraded from a 4, putting the 4 up on eBay immediately when I received the notice about the 5 and it ended up costing about $50 to upgrade. My impressions? Well I'm truly amazed at how much better this thing is. It literally tracks every movement I could make. I can't get it stuck anywhere where I would need to recenter. For example I can turn my head around twice and it tracks the whole turn movement. I know you can't do that with the 4 model. Overall, VERY impressed - the stats on paper really do make this a huge jump in models.
  12. I just picked up the CH Pro Throttle to go with my CH pedals and MS Force Feedback joystick. I have a CH yoke I have used in other flight simulators and I have never had a need for the CH Control Manager software. At this point I'm curious why people use it. It seems to work fine just assigning different buttons to the throttle and joystick. Am I missing something?
  13. I just hooked up a new CH Pro Throttle and I noticed when I go into the Axis Tune Panel for it, the throttle moves the dot all the way to one side, but it doesn't go all the way to the other. Does that make sense or does anyone else have this issue?
  14. As the title says, just picked up a CH Pro Throttle...any recommendations what to set at the buttons to do? There are some interesting knobs on here. I have a Microsoft Force Feedback 2, CH Pedals and Track IR.
  15. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth it to loose the force feedback in order to go to a more accurate setup. Has any gone from a force feedback to a regular stick? I don't think I'd be able to live without it. I'm currently using a Logitech Wingman Force (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-963203-0403-WingMan-Force/dp/B00001W01O)
  16. Anyway we can add an option to turn jitter on automatically?
  17. How do you all notice how insensitive a stick might be without a solid comparison. For example I am in love with my old Logitech Wingman Force (the 1st generation.. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-963203-0403-WingMan-Force/dp/B00001W01O ) but maybe it's because I don't know better. As a side note, the FF is sooo helpful in trimming I'm not sure I could live without it. Having said that for my general aviation FSX needs I use CH all the way and would go with them in a second if I thought living without FF in BS were possible.
  18. <<"The old Logitech Wingman Force Here's an example on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Logitech-WingMan...3A1|240%3A1318" You couldn't pay me to own that huge hunk of plastic--leave it on eJunk where it belongs--stuff like this is what I just throw in the trash.>> I assume your comment isn't based on ownership, but ignorance.
  19. I just wanted to start a topic on this joystick. It seems like a lot of people are looking for a joystick so I thought I would bring this one up as a viable option. Like the Microsoft FF2, this joystick is no longer made; I really think it's great though. It has the old style belt driven force feedback which is amazing. Great look and feel and great sensitivity. The only negative is the footprint (it's big). Here's an example of one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Logitech-WingMan...3A1|240%3A1318 If I remember correctly I bought it over the Microsoft FFB2 because it had better reviews at the time. Even better they aren't as well known so the prices on ebay aren't crazy yet. Anyone else using this? If so do you use a separate throttle?
  20. Everyone keeps leaving out what I think is the ideal joystick for this sim: The old Logitech Wingman Force Here's an example on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Logitech-WingMan-Force_W0QQitemZ290289064098QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCA_Joysticks_Game_Controllers?hash=item290289064098&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A13|39%3A1|240%3A1318 It has the old style belt driven force feedback which is amazing. Great look and feel and great sensitivity. The only negative is the footprint. I've been using it and I love it. If I remember correctly I bought it over the Microsoft FFB2 because it had better reviews at the time. Even better they aren't as well known so the prices on ebay aren't crazy yet. Anyone else using this?
  21. Thanks guys, your answers are spot on.
  22. Recently while flying a mission I was trying to get over the top of a mountain. From a stable hover I increased collective but no matter what I seemed to stay at the same altitude or descend. Any more collective gives me an RPM warning. It's cold but the anti-ice is on. Any ideas?
  23. It seems that there is an issue with the different viewing on the hat switch. Basically I want to be able to use the hat on my joystick to control the shakval targeting, just like in real life, but during an external view I would like it to control the view of my plane. While I can set this up in the settings it only works for one or the other. In fact there seems to be an odd method of it determining which way it works because with both mapped, half of my hat only moves the outside view, while the other half moves the shakval.
  24. Can someone descibe the INU to me? A quick search of the PDF book resulted in nothing.
  25. One of my biggest issues has been finding the enemy. Usually I just wait for someone to shoot at me first. I noticed in the weapons training mission the enemy is blue on the hud. Also the hud tracks the missles. I'm sure it's a feature I'm forgetting to turn on, but what is it?
