VVI and Radar ALT gauges - English cockpit only
Oberst Struppi replied to LCO489's topic in Bugs and Problems
@BIGNEWY Hi Scott! The bugs, including the track files, have already been reported and posted by other users. No offence. I‘am very patient, but i do not understand how things are tested before such an update is released. VVI, Radar Altimeter are two basic instruments. Without a working VVI theres no chance to even land the airplane safely. Furthermore this is 100% obvious when getting in the MIG-29. You‘ll notice this within seconds. -
I‘am surprised how much the newest Update destroyed the MIG-29. Sometimes i‘am asking myself how things are being tested before going online. I mean VVI and Radar ALT gauges are literally dead which brings the 29 to an unflyable state. Is there no one hopping in the airplane, checking the systems when theres an update about to come out? I dont get it.

Is it a "gun mode" symbology or not?! Thats the question. I have a former MIG-29S Pilot on my hand which i can ask. Maybe he can remind on the symbology.
-
Within 1600m it works i would say. The question is, how should it work? Prior the update you were able to press 1st detent when having a STT lock. No matter if if it was on 30nm or 10nm´s.
-
Hello! Prior to .16362 pressing Gun Trigger 1st detent while having an STT lock moved the reticle directly over the locked target. Now the reticle does not move anymore when in STT. Tested with Hot Start (Air) and Cold Start machines. Does not work anymore.

Klingt sehr interessant was ihr macht . LG

Hello! There are two bindings. A normal one and a relative one. The one you binded might be me "normal" one. Check the controls again and select the "relative" one. The TDC will stay where you left it off. greets

All heat seeking missiles pre-cooled during airstart for MiG-29
Oberst Struppi replied to CrazyGman's topic in Wish List
@CrazyGman Look at my tacview. I tried it again, and my missiles were precooled for at least 5 minutes. I was in HELM mode and constantly looking at him. The R-73 never got off the rail. R-73 test.zip.acmi -
All heat seeking missiles pre-cooled during airstart for MiG-29
Oberst Struppi replied to CrazyGman's topic in Wish List
Thank you for that info! the full minute is not a big deal for me as long as you know it. i‘ll continue testing this day and see what the R-73 can do. -
I played alot around with the R-73s. I tried to engage ai ace MIG-23 with R60Ms and R-24s. i was nose hot until i saw smoke of his R-24. Then i cranked around 20-25 degree, put the nose down and set up for HELM mode. As we were closing to each other i got the dashed circle from the IRST, but i was never able to launch the R-73. Even under 5 miles. I repeated this, did the same, but this time i turned hot on him around 7nm. Same thing. No chance to release the R-73. It seems like a front aspect limitation to me. I dont know. Another big unsolved mystery for me is, that I never ever heard the typical sidewinder growling tone in that airplane.

I‘ve tested a lot these days. if i turn the ECCM switch to AJ i can lock targets from greater distance. Regarding pK i did not see an improvement. Almost every R-27r/er is getting either chaffed away or outmaneuvered. Tested on hostile mig-21 and 23. The dcs ai is still stupid as it was years ago. No matter what, enemies starting their evasive meneuver at ~10nm range from them to the missile. That behaviour is hardcorded and includes fox1 and fox3 missiles. Fox2 works good imho. Next on my list is a 2-Ship flight wirh my buddy. He is firing his 27ER, while i try to send my 27ET after his fox1.

I still dont get it with the R-73 and the Monocle. How the heck do you shoot the R-73 using its own sensor and not the IRST? I never get the typical fox2 sensor growling noise. Just looking with the HMD without pressing the "LOCKON" Button does nothing. No growling noise and no chance to get it off the rail. Pressing and holding "LOCKON" just gives me the IRST lock. For my understanding the dashed crosshair means its in a R-73 lock, right?

Hey there fellas! Do you have an idea what this symbolgy is about? KNQX is the ICAO for the Naval Air Station Key West. You see a F/A-18 right on the 29s nose. The picture has been taken by Robert „Robbs“ Hierl, a former german Mig-29 Pilot. Therefore this must have been a MIG-29G.
