  1. Still at it! The delay has been acquiring proper (rare) reference material. As some people might know, there is the Bonnie pre refit and Bonnie post refit. There were quite a few exterior modification, and I was leaning toward the post refit since it would be easier to model with most of the opening on the sides of the ship closed and sponsons removed. Well if you want to be accurate in the use of the Banshee fighter though, this meant I would have to model the pre_refit. :( Here she is with what I hope is all of the opening on the sides of the ship. Next will be the very irregular cat walks surrounding the flight deck.
  2. Well the Bonnie model is a very old model I made for "Strike Fighter". That said I felt it necessary to upgrade the old girl and take advantage of alpha,normal and PBR texture. Plus up the Poly count from 10,000 to somewhere around 30,000. So for a start you can see the High poly 3"50 gun mount that are complete and currently being rendered and reduced to low poly.
  3. Thanks for the interest Guys, if you do not mind waiting a bit I have already started updating the Bonnie with a better model. I'll send updated pics soon.
  4. I'm also having a "ImGui.dll" missing issue! Re-installed twice, still same issue. That is Modelviewer 133261.exe OK found the solution to the ImGUI issue. The exe file is actually in the DCS directory.
  5. Thanks Joey45. I'm going to get the EDM plugging working then make sure my models are optimize and view able in the model viewer. At that point I will be dead in the water. I'm OK with the LOD's it the damage model and animations that will be the learning curve. Oh don't even mention programming,,,,,that stuff scares me! :)

  8. I'm interested in possibly putting some of my Canadian Warships models in the game. Some of them are low poly (HMCS Bonaventure, HMCS Protecteur and HMCS Halifax) the rest are not. A few questions though. First question, what are the polygon limits for DCS ships? Is the EDM plugging working with 3dsmax 2017? Finally, what are the texture sizes?(2048x2048?) I imagine there is color, bump and alpha correct?
  9. You might want to look into page file sizes within windows 10. It is quite easy to make changes and test if this will make any difference. Even though you have a SSD drive, DCS is still trying to access a lot of files on your drive. Worth playing around with and very little chance of hurting anything.

  12. Well for right now, I would suggest the best strategy for the people who are using other software other then 3dsmax is to find someone with 3dsmax and have them export it for you. The whole process would not take more then a few minutes. Regretfully I have to agree with prior comments and say that I also feel the developer should release the plugings for the most popular 3d software out there. ED currently still has a tight grip on their 3d content and is only allowing new models through them. So if that is the case, it is to their benefit to provide easy access to 3d tools OR give no restrictions as to what format the models are submitted. My opion

I'm pretty sure you can create terrain for this sim. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=31052 Obviously from reading that, it looks like ED wants you to submit it to them and then it would be released to the public. At first I get the impression that it's a "control freak" thing, but since this sim has a multiplayer aspect to it, you want everyone to have the exact same version. This is critical or you will end up with a dauntingly huge list of mods requirement before playing online.(Sadly lots of games have become like this) I would contact them directly and explain what you would like to do and what requirements need to be met.   14. Nice one Moose! Be nice to see a squad of these fly by! My only critic(more a wish) would be to see it dirtied up/worn in a little. Looks brand new, there is very little "brand new" in the Canadian forces. :)

  17. If I could suggest something. It would really be helpful for everyone if we all started our forum threads with the aircraft project title(nicely this one is). As this community continues to grow hopefully, so will the volume of models, this is not going to happen if we have 2 ,3 ,4 people unknowingly working on the same model! Plus I have been unable to find out what the Polygon limits are? Aircraft, vehicle and buildings? What are the texture/map sizes as well? 512x512, 1024x1024? Regards and TKS
  18. I'm no expert Crashed, but on DCS web page http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=15&scr=default〈=en They mention that we can get simulation data from the "lua". If you program a script for the proper gauge I think you would be able to use it.
  19. I have to agree with Lionpride. If your comfortable putting in a power supply/video card, your not that much farther from putting together a whole new system. With an upgraded RAM, CPU, Power supply, motherboard and video card your system will now be ready for all the current games and ED's next addon in 9 months! :)

  21. I have tried installing using your instruction Moose. Sadly no luck. (just takes one wrong line in notepad to screw it up, I must of screwed it up). Would it be possible to package it so as to easily install via Modman? Greatly appreciate that, Thanks.
  22. Hey, Would love to have one of those skins as well. I downloaded, and I think properly installed Moose's skins but have been unable to see them!
