  8. funny, I do it for a job and hobby.. so yep!
  9. Couple of pics of a VSI gauge... Gadroc and I had some cheap steppers with large steps, but we have some better ones on the way. Also, here is a video of flying our real cub around... if your interested seeing some low flying!

  15. Hello all, I will offer the A-10 MIP as a cnc kit. Basically it is a mix between .25 and .5 inch MDF. It will come disassembled and you will need basic tools to build it. Also, you will need some good rc super glue with kicker, it makes things much easier. The console is built for one 8 inch lcd in the center( ADI and Hsi), and the MFD's can hold 10 incher's or 8's depending if you want to cover the other instruments(rwr, alt, vsi,Airspeed) with a screen or make them physical. The engine gauges are also built for an 8 incher or can make physical via servo's or steppers. I will later have laser engraved panels and instrument bezels to complete the look. Price- $199 plus shipping Gadroc and I will build ours with physical gauges except the ADI,HSI,RWR. We will be using phidgets LED and stepper boards for the functional stuff. If anyone has questions , shoot me a PM. Thanks, FLIM
  16. Let me look at the cnc time and material cost.... I'm initially making it to mount on the UMC, but there are many other DIY ways.
  17. Once I figure out exactly how I will do them , then it will be no secret. I'm mostly going off my rc airplane building experience to get it done.
  18. Ya, I have a cnc... that is how I make the Aces Seat for the UMC rigs. Gauges, I have never attempted to make real gauges, but between Gadroc and I, we can get it done. It should be fun trying anyhow!
  19. Well, thanks... I have been doing this a while, my problem is I like to have it now!
  20. Okay, I decided to build the structure today... the structure consist of .25 and half inch mdf all cnc'd. I built panels that come off which will make it easy to work on and wire up electronics. I plan on using 2- 8 inch lcd's and 1- 5 incher for the RWR. The rest will be functional gauges via steppers and servo's. Later this week I will build and engrave the panels... then it is engine gauge building time. I will need to make a servo mount for 12 servos... FUN!
  21. Awesome , I like to see other welders and how they do things! Your pit is awesome and very clean. CST, that is actually my brother who runs that business. The funny thing is we are totally separate, but basically do the same thing. Although,we talked about some rudder pedals...
  22. Here is a different way I might go... I have been going back and forth on using my UMC frame as a base for the A-10 physical setup. I will make the front and side consoles and attach them to the frame. This will make each console easy to work on because they will unbolt from the main frame. Concept

    IO boards

We plan to integrate the phcc boards to our Helios interface software. The phcc will give you all that is needed to wire up a full cockpit. http://phcc.varxec.net/wiki/Introduction
  25. Ya, I will prob offer a DIY kit for the A-10 and f-16 for a reasonable cost. I'm trying to make the pit compact as possible for space, but keep the original size consoles and front panel. I still need to draw up the panels, but If someone has files... I could trade for a full set of laser engraved panels and alum backplates.
