ya, thse boards look good... need to get gadroc to add it to helios.
  11. The lever is pretty simple... let me make another and then I can post how I did it!
  12. Here is a video of progress so far... I'm currently adding led's to the fire handles and other ad-dons as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlawcqhM718
  13. With the front console being on the monitor arm, I can just push it out of the way when finished.
  14. Dang, awesome! I owe you
  15. Hey, I can work something out for you since you are working on the empty DCS pit.
  16. Hey guys, I have had a few mails on folks interested in the front console. Currently working on the side consoles as well, but I can offer kit versions of the front now. Based on 19 inch lcd and Helios, MDF and acrylic structure ( cnc'd) kit. Basically you will receive the mdf structure which needs to be glued, sanded, painted- then you will receive the laser engraved panels and fire handles which are functional. I can supply pics on how I assembled and wired mine. If you spend a weekend of building and wiring , then you should have it all working. I designed the console to be easy and cheap to build for what it is, but you will have complete function without the need of the on screen cockpit. Just Pm if your want more info. when I get home from my trip today, I will shoot a vid of my setup working.
  17. looks good! There is a lot to making something like this, materials ( thicker = more cost), displays, electronics, panels, switches, software, etc.... If you keep it simple, but functional... then you will succeed !
  18. Ya, I will take a video showing it all working!
  19. That sucks..... not sure why they changed it!
  20. Thanks, I like to build... but I like to fly as well and you can easily get to the point where you are building only. It is amazing how much info I can squeeze on that little 19 inch lcd and still have room!
  21. Hey guys, I have started working on a low cost custom A-10c mini pit based off the UMC v2. The front console is mounted to a 19 inch Acer Lcd and made from MDF and acrylic. The front panel Velcros to the lcd. I have all the switches that are required to fly in game without the full cockpit view. Next I will start the left and right consoles built in a similar fashion in which I will conserve switches and space where possible. My goal is to not use a keyboard or mouse. Thanks to Helios and creative programming, this is very possible. Last, I'm using leo's boards and ones locally from Groovy game gear.com. I will be drawing up consoles and panels in the coming days...
  22. Trigen, are you around?....
  23. There are plenty of planes that are fly by wire and have sticks or yokes... and most use spring feedback to give the pilot some feel.
  24. Working on a Run of 5 kits, 1 spot open... please PM if you want in this round. UMC V2 is a kit based on the Aces II ejection seat and the steel mounts for placement if your Warthog/Hotas controls stick. The Mounts are fully adjustable and are fabricated from .065 steel. The plates are water jet cut and have warthog mounting holes for direct bolt on placement. The seat kit is un-built and not painted. You will be required to build and buy hardware to complete the seat. The stick mounts are welded and ready for powder coating. I was having the parts powder coated , but the business I used was hit by a tornado. So the steel parts will come with no coating, but a person can find cheap powder coating services locally. Included in Base Kit: ACES SEAT KIT with Molded Seat Back Steel Mounts- 2 main side mounts, Throttle Mount, Stick Mount( center or side )Note: need to know your stick setup so I can build the correct mount. BASE PRICE IS: $549 Custom High Quality Aces Seat Cushions- built from high grade marine water proof material, and designed for long flights in your pit. $179 Extra's: Mouse mount, Keyboard mount, and Aft Ergotron mounts for a 3 touchscreen setup. Please PM for more information. FLIM
