  1. Correct - upgrade will be after the release out of beta.
  2. For some reason I find landing as fun as blowing stuff up... here's my attempt at an overhead break:
  3. Check your axis to see if two devices are set against pitch roll, rudder etc.
  4. Further to this I made a quick vid strafing from 7-5,000 ft. Good fun with the new explosions.
  5. I think if you head in to land without having clearance it gives you clearance just before you land, similar to taxiing onto the runway without clearance for takeoff.
  6. Yep many missions have you calling fighter cover and sead. I've seen some videos of a-10s engaging with guns and not going below 7000 ft. It's not as effective though I guess. They also killed a British soldier by accident. Most mp missions are made to be action packed and full of challenges. Killing targets is otherwise quite straight forward.
  7. Fixing those old training missions so they are compatible with BS2 is probably not the highest priority right now. That said I don't think those missions get you 100% competent anyway. You'll always need to refer to YouTube, the forums and the manual.
  8. Have a look in the mission editor - from memory it's somewhere in there. I might be wrong though sorry.
  9. World is in beta.
  10. We'll get it when it's released. I guess not even ED really know exactly when that will be. I'm wondering if they can release World while P-51D is still in beta or if they are interdependent.
  11. Bullets are hitting you which sounds a bit like smashing metal and machinery. Missiles make a big explosion.
  12. I have a question: do the air frames still need to be of matching versions to work together with DCS World? What I mean by that is, if a patch comes out for DCS World, will we also have to have the matching airframe versions to run with it? Also will two air frames in the same world have to be matching versions to both run and play together? Essentially this is how it worked before DCS World and I'm wondering if DCS World brings it all together but also adds backwards compatibility since it's modular (or are there interdependent components requiring everything to tie together in matching versions)...
  13. If it's a slight difference in timing, I don't mind. If it's a month or two I'd be annoyed.
  14. Why waste your time. You're only going to have to download the actual release again anyway. This is just a beta.
  15. Yeah hopefully a 486 Dx2!
  16. I'd always recommend a desktop PC for gaming. If you look closely at the specs you usually notice lower bus or clock speeds because they want to balance in some battery life and also manage the temperature.
  17. I really don't feel like doing the last mission all over again. Is there a way to edit the campaign progress to get me back into where I'm up to? The game locked up but the sound of the engine kept going normally. I had to alt tab and kill the process. When I reloaded DCS the previous mission is displayed...
  18. Yep I get about 14-16 FPS near the end there. That's just too much happening at once on the AI side of things I think? If there aren't that many AI units then perhaps there's something else going on.
  19. I've done it now by adding two more su-33s to the flight so they don't all get shot down by the su-25s. I also shot down the hinds myself!
  20. The SU-25's are consistently shooting down my fighter cover. My wingmen have proven useless in Air to Air and in one attempt that the SU-25s were actually shot down my wingman crashed into a hill whilst in formation and then my other wingmen were shot down my sams chasing the hinds. Yep I seriously hate this mission.
  21. I just tried this mission and was quite disappointed. The Su-25's weren't shot down by the friendly fighters who themselves were shot down.... The Su-25s then dove on my wingmen and shot them down and the hinds finished us off. We didn't stand a chance to get clearance from our holding point. It's such a long flight I didn't feel like giving it another go. The rest of the campaign has been awesome though. grrr.
  22. I wouldn't bother buying an i7 just to turn off hyperthreading just for the odd game that doesn't use multi cores.
  23. I will try to watch this tonight. But there's no way you should struggle with BS 2 as your specs are over mine and I have silky smooth gameplay with everythign on high. . BS 2 is still sitting on my 7200 rpm drive until DCS: World means I can fit it all on my SSD.
  24. It's a lot of fun. I went back to it the other day.
  25. I've read the manual a few times but right now I'm pretty ignorant of the flight planning side of the ABRIS. I pretty much just use it as a moving map.
