The whole product is dedicated to entertainment. I paid for entertainment and want to be entertained. If not by the product itself then by different content. It is part of the Experience and the developer should have interest in boosting peoples anticipation. I would rather want to fly it sooner then later. That being said it would have been easy to lift the restriction of releasing new content or instead of releasing the same content over and over again get the content developers to release less but better/different content. If you can't show features tease them. The content so far has been quite boring both due to redundancy and lack of feature preview. Also I highly doubt the tomcat would be postponed by moths because everyone in their team is needed to produce a trailer.

Well, if you dont want to show new content show some action. Fast cut 4 minute cinematic videos of scenarios (deepstrike, intercept etc.) one per month. Something that keeps you excited (like the anytime baby video). But don't show the same things over and over again. After the first "first look" video I felt well informed. After the second bored. Watching the third made me think there is not much to see about this aircraft (even if this might not be the case). I know that horse is out the barn, but I just want to give some feedback to heatblur and explain why their marketing campaign has derailed the hypetrain for quite a few people.

I really liked Ralfi's Tomcat Strike on Krymsk the other videos were pretty redundant. Three times first look on the Tomcat. Two times the same CAP mission (from different perspectives). Three videos of the Phoenix. One Bombcat video. The stream should better not be mentioned. The amount of new content shown could be broken down to 1 hour for a complete month, which is pretty little even if the module is released on march 21st. Poeple are not asking for more hours of footage, they are asking for new content.

Wow. This thread became really philosophical :)

Playing at 1080p. I might set up the computer newly.

Allright trying to explain my problem here. I also can see the dot. Thing that changed is that the dot now skales with FOV/Zoom (you name it), which is different than it used to be. If I would have measured the dot in size on my screen fully zoomed in it would have had the same size as fully zoomed out. Now I can see the dot when zoomed in, but when I zoom out it fades (in size) and actually becomes smaller then one pixel to the point where it is not visible when fully zoomed out.

Quick question: Are you using MSAA?
-
Well not working for me then. I can see black dots but only when I zoom in. As soon as I zoom out the pixel is fading (proportional to the zoom level). This also applies to very close planes (about 5nm away), which prictically dissapear when fully zoomed out. As I said I used this method to spot planes, for which reason I can assuredly say things have changed (at least for me). Would you mind posting your configs/options Knock-Knock?
-
I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing. The impostors were 1.5 and before. After they have been removed, planes when in a certain range to your arcraft would at least be shown as one (impostors where bigger than one) pure black pixel on your screen, no matter how much you changed your zoom (FOV). I have used this alot to spot planes (Zoom out to make the black pixel stand out more). I was wondering why I got ambushed by planes well in my usual visual range, until i discovered that the black pixel has been removed (when zooming out now the pixel vanishes). The only thing I changed to my dcs was using it with VR. After I discovered the missing of the black pixel I removed VR gear, reinstalled and reset my profile in order to fix it (which it didn't). Haven't seen something regarding this feature in any of the Changelogs. Would be nice if a developer could clarify.

Without being judgmental, this week was equals to sunday late evening (or night) in all of their announcements since december.
-
There once was a one pixel rule, which says if an aircraft is in certain range it will at least be displayed as one pixel, even when zoomed out. While playing today i noticed this is not the case anymore. When did that change and why?

Available since years, here you go m8: http://server.3rd-wing.net/public/Ked/natops%20F14B.pdf

I didn't start the thread for another release date discussion. It's just about the manual and the wish for heatblur to not hold back the release until one week before the actual release of the plane. I would like to learn things before actually flying the plane.
-
Well, I think in one of the December Podcasts I've heard the manual would be released "well before the module". Would be nice to know if that changed.
-
Please don‘t hold it back for for marketing reasons. If I recall it right there were only a few images missing back in mid december.
-
Everyone I spoke to was completely satisfied, some even astonished with the amount of content that was promised in the Pre-Order Trailer or in the December update, for the most part because it is by all means the most complete EA module ever released in DCS. Adding more stuff at the expense of delaying the release seems a little counterintuitive. Waiting until the 20th of march is a way bigger deal, especially for me because it's the day my semester break ends :(

1. Raising everyones expectations for imminent release by saying it will come (quote) "very, very soon™" on Livestream in November 2018 2. People go crazy 3. Keeping release date vague 4. Wonder that people have different definitions of soon™ and are unhappy when they find out the release date is not close to what they thought 4. ???? 5. PROFIT!!! Jokes aside. Honest question what did you hope it would become? This thread was doomed to be a shitfest. People throwing made up release dates at each other, getting first hyped and then dissapointed. It's not your fault, but the logical consequence of such threads.

The new Flir Rendering System should depend on Vulcan API. So there will be no ATFLIR until vulcan is released. I read that vulcan has went into testing (about 2 months ago https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3592186&postcount=48), which gives me hope it will be released soon.

Red Flag Rumble November R2 - Mig21 vs F5
mortalkombat replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Tournaments & Events
Skyscraper - F5 sadly I am unable to attend on sunday. -
In several hundred hours of DCS I have never once seen a Fox 2 locking onto flares before it's off the rail. What I have seen is that when another plane crosses the flight path of the plane I have my Mike uncaged to, the seeker switches targets. Same thing should happen when the enemy planes drops preventive flares, but the flares only seem to jam the seeker once the missile is fired. Is this a bug or not yet implemented? If not yet when can we expect to see it implemented?
