As the title states I'm looking for a dedicated dogfighting squadron to further improve my bfm. Servers like the justdogfight lack communication which I feel is crucial to eliminate the last flaws.
-
Allright guys need some disambiguation. What is DT2, L&S and SSS?
-
Could you overstress it by pulling too quick? Or did the dampening prevent it and overstressing was only able if you pull too far?
-
As stated before they had not. The stick was dampened to prevent overstress of the airframe. If you compare DCS vs real world: Pilot pulls stick too hard: 1. Real World --> Springs and dampers prevent the pilot from pulling too far/fast. 2. DCS --> no springs/dampening/feedback available, airframe gets overstressed and rips wings This should'nt be possible. I would rather like the DCS F-14 to stop the control surface deflection where the real world F-14 stick would have stopped it.
-
In an ideal world the DCS F-14 like the real world F-14 wouldnt rip it‘s wings at all, because the dampening of the stick and the forces on the control surfaces are properly simulated.
-
Lulz. You are the type of Pilot that ends up on my 12 in the first turn after the merge, because he doesnt want to overstress the airframe. If you want to compete in an actual pvp dogfight you have to push the plane to the limits. If the wings rip inconsistently any decent pilot will rip them in bfm.

Oooof. AoA has almost nothing todo with wingsnapping except for the obvious increase in Lift. The dimension that correllates is the accelleration (G).
-
I guess not snapping wings in the sim is way harder than it would be for a real life pilot. Natops states that the real stick is dampened to prevent the pilot from pulling too much Gs.

Aim-9 not being slewed to radar contact
mortalkombat replied to mortalkombat's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Still found no fix. What I do is: 1. master arm on, missle prep on, sw cooling on 2. switch mode to sw 3. lock target with pdm/pal/vsl (sidewinder not slewing to radar target) 4. pressing cage-seam button (sidewinder only track radar target if uncaged close to the target while performing double D scan) I'm not able to reproduce what Jabbers is doing here (sidewinder instantly being slewed to radar): What the hell am I doing wrong? -
Let Jester set up the Datalink first. Then let your human RIO take his place.
-
After the first few hours as RIO and pilot I found myself to be significantly worse than jester in terms of 1. Spotting targets with radar 2. Locking them 3. Keeping lock even though I am certain I know the theory well enough to compete with him. Is anyone feeling he is equals/better than jester and would like to post some rio gameplay?

Aim-9 not being slewed to radar contact

Well bugged for me then. Not slewing to radar target when hitting seam. -
Aim-9 not being slewed to radar contact
mortalkombat replied to mortalkombat's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
It locks when pressing the CAGE-SEAM button but only when it swivels over the target the moment I hit the button. So basicly pressing SEAM when having radar lock, uncages like without radar. -
When in ACM mode with a target locked via PLM the sidewinder still performs the double D of the SEAM. Any suggestions what could be wrong?
-
Seems to be this. They do not fold/unfold when loaded.
-
When entering a dogfight in the F-14 hat hig speeds the plane of course will slow down as fighting progresses. But as I get slower while manovering the wings do not come forward eventhough set to auto and below mach 0.6. Is there something I am doing wrong?
-
I would be satisfied with them just uploading one of the already existing liveries (ideally cleanest one).
-
I'm looking forward to put my name on one of dem skins.
-
This could only be true if it sucks. If it is any good I certainly will be grumpy not having been able to fly it during my vac.
-
The shop mentiones an early access phase. So actually we paid for both. Also thank you very much for taking on the burden of already flying the Tomcat ;)
-
Good points. I myself thought about buying the Mig-19 to bridge the time until the F-14 release.
-
Cobra's post was just a polite way of telling us that they wouldn't announce the release date last week.

Sure new content will come. At the latest after it's released. Also true that the community played it's part in generating hype, but so did Heatblur. Things were teased but not delivered. For example Heatblurs Tomcat Series of which only the Overview has been posted. I did as the video told me to and stood tuned, but they never held up to expectations (not only mine). I get that unforseen events can delay the output of new content. Nevertheless I have to say that the time waiting for the release has been (and is) a pain in the ass, mostly due to the lacking content (of every type).
-
Ah the good old "how dare you critizise them". No it would not have gotten us the tomcat any sooner but it would have made the time waiting way more pleasant, which is frankly speaking more important to me. So far we have been teased heavy in late November/early December followed by a misirably long period of thisweek™ and soon™.
