Thanks for the link! Hey guys. has anyone ordered these? https://vroptician.com/prescription-lens-inserts/hp-reverb/ The holders seem kinda thick?
-
Link to that guide referenced?
-
???????????????? OK, so now we need someone with a week 32 Reverb to see if they have a REV sticker on the box?
-
Oh and mine was made on the 31st week, so 2 weeks ago. I guess that means this is a good one?
-
OK, still no email but I checked the status just again, and it has shipped, and is due on Monday. Yeah! Those with new units. Does it look the same? Same cord? Same connectors?
-
I ordered on the 13th too, and no word yet hmmmm?

What country?

I finally tried my Reverb! Just before I boxed it back up ( Have a REV2 on the way) There has been numerous reviews and I'm late to the gate, but I still wanted to relay my first thoughts as many may be ready to buy with REV being released. Well...... I like it. I like it quite a bit. There are issues, but there are NO current alternatives in my opinion. As we all know it's all about the resolution! From my first moments with DK2, and right through CV!, this was complaint number1 for me. Resolution, and clarity! Others have complained about comfort, FOV, colors, black levels, and more. All these being important but none as important as clarity and rez. I'm not a Gamer, but prefer either VR experiences, and realistic simulations, and the rez made everything kinda suck. No More! Though I won't be happy until true photorealism, resolution is no longer a serious issue. because of this I'll go as far as to say this is the first and only Gen 2 HMD available, and the best option for those into VR experiences, and sims. Comfort - Everything is perfect, just like CV1. Well done! Nothing else to add. The bad. Yep, just as you guys have said, if you look slightly off to the side, the clarity drops. Well, I guess that's currently the price we have to pay for that fantastic front view. I'll just keep my eyes forward if that's what's required. FOV? Yeah that suck pretty bad. Just 20 more degrees would have been nice, but if using these same screens, that would have cut into the precious resolution, and lowered it horizontally. No thanks! Controllers? Usable I guess but that's about it. I'm not a gamer so who cares. Lastly I compared it to my barely used 5K+. That FOV is fantastic, but the visuals. Ugg. I'm surprised the 5K looks so bad compared to Reverb. and I'm not sure it's much better than CV1? ( BTW No super sampling, this was just a basic raw compare.) The 5K FOV could be useful for sims, but I need to decide if it's worth keeping now????? In conclusion. I'm happy I've gone Reverb. I picked the right one. I FEEL It is the absolute minimum acceptable resolution for sims, and eliminates the Index, Rift S, and pimax from my choices This is the headset that should start bringing over monitor simmers in droves. It's not 1080, but it's now close enough. Finally!

I had the same issue. I thought it was broke. My issue was the Reverb driver files that get downloaded when you plug it in.. It just seemed it was locked and would not download. Then when turning off the computer, windows said it had to download even though I had all Windows updates. I let it and then went to bed. The next morning my screens were lit up! Strange that Windows knew I did not download the drivers completely and finished for me! Probably because they are MS WMR files. Could this be your issue? I have a slowish connection and those fies are huge, and takes forever. My progress bar never moved, therefore I thought there was a setup error, but it just took forever.

Still no 3D printable prescription lens holders for the reverb? I see the Index already has one........ Also, as was discussed earlier, do we yet know the "apparent" focal length?
-
This is correct. Every HMD has a different "apparent" focal distance depending on the distance to the screen, and how the lens "alters" that distance. The guy that said always use distance prescriptions for VR is in error. I don't use it! For a lot of people, and a lot of HMDs that's OK, but not always. So when getting a prescription lens for a new headset. you have to do 1 of 2 things. See if the manufacturer will tell you the "apparent" focal distance, Or use a drawer full of glasses with different "powers" until you get a match. I just went through this. I have a + distance prescription, so was able to buy 10 pairs of reading glasses at the dollar store for a buck each. I tried each one incriminating at .25 + each time until I got an exact hit. I then used this number to buy better Zenni lenes for 3D printed frames. BTW. I'm older and can not change focus well so I need a different prescription for every few feet of change until well away from me. In other words, My prescription thats good at 10' doesn't do as good at 30', or 5'!

Strange, I wonder why mine was so low? I-9 and 2080TI

I figured as much. This one goes back to Amazon this weekend while I await for a fresh unit from HP By the way, my automatic rez setting in Steam was 32%. This with a top level rig. Whats up with that?
-
Well I just grabbed another one, even though I still have the yet untested Amazon unit sitting here. ( Was planning on first try tonight!) I just don't feel I can trust it even it turns out fine. But this next one better truly be a fixed Gen 2 or I'm going to be extremely upset! BTW, I got mailed with taxes, but Amazon charged them too!
-
So am I the only one with a recent HMD without the clip? Did anyone else receive a Reverb from Amazon last week?
-
Hmmmmmm. What to do? I had to fill in at work last weekend so my new HP has yet to be test run, though I did open the package. There was no clip, and I'm sure it's Gen 1. I was going to test it out tomorrow. BUT, I'm tempted to box it back up and ship it back! Even if it seems ok, How could I ever trust a gen 1? I guess I could compare it to my 5K+ to see if it's even worth having a Reverb, but I'm pretty pissed at HP for shipping more Gen 1's out. I barely have the will to go through the setup, and dicking with it knowing it will soon be returned as I now only have 10 return days left....... It's my fault for not cancelling my Amazon order, but I was sure HP would not ship out more unfixed HMD's

Has this been seen?

Isn't there a issue with FFB sticks and extensions? -
Aren't crosswinds setup for WW2 type planes only? (Whole foot on pedal) I prefer the more modern heel on floor style if I could only choose one. Also. I prefer all metal construction, so for me it would be the TPR's, or Slaws. Virpil would be a option after some reviews.

Waiting......................

My new reverb didn't come with that? Where was it in the box? Anyone else with a latest round Reverb not get one?
-
I upgraded to the latest version of Win last week ( from 18something) I assumed it contained the hot fix. How to be sure?
-
Interesting perspectives. I have a Reverb, that arrived last week, still sitting here in the box, and a Pimax 5K that I've only confirmed that it's working. Should be a interesting comparison.
-
Secoda - So will you exchange yours even if no issues arise? Should I seal my new Reverb in a insulated box while it runs for hours to proof it? Can anyone tell me the "apparent" focal distance for eyeglass matching?
