I'm still building mine. I'm honestly surprised more haven't jumped in? People here mostly have no problem opening their wallets. Who wouldn't want motion?

Any chance that DCS will be usable With a Pimax5K / HP Reverb, and a regular 2080 when the new update goes live? I've sat herer for 2 months with a unused 5k+ because I just can't bring myself to be raped by Nvidia, and purchase their "Bend me over" card. The price increase as you go up through the models is acceptable, being about $150 / $200 per level jump. That's fine. Then we jump from the 2080 to 2080 TI, and they double the price? I spend extravagant sums of cash on my hobbies, but I do not appreciate having my loyalty paid back with disregard, and greed. I HAVE to feel like I'm getting value for my money

That's great you have decided to support them with a purchase. I'm not going to. :) I understand and support their decision. That's great for them, and for the future of social media, the coming mega verse, ETC. It's a sound business plan. And it's all very understandable. BUT!!!! I'm not Oculus, and I'm not Facebook. I'm not employed by them, nor do I own stock. Their future as a going concern is of no real interest to me. Even as a DK2, and Rift owner, they owe me nothing, and I owe them nothing. For those who held out for a TOTL HMD from them, I 'm sorry, but really couldn't you read the writing on the wall? All this is of no surprise is it? Rather my concern is the best VR experience possible, at any reasonable cost. I'm older and have a decent paying job, so I'm not in Facebook's demographic of young students without jobs, or 20 / 30 somethings with young needy family's to support. (Been there / Done that) I'm off Facebooks radar, So I'm going with a HMD provider more in tune with my needs than the needs of their business model, or the future of their social network. At the moment, that appears to be Pimax, or HP. Thank goodness for competition. It's a beautiful thing!

Introducing the Final Part of the VPCockpit - VPC Rudder Pedals!
Wmacky replied to Cyph3r's topic in VIRPIL Controls
This design seems to accommodate both heels on pedal, AND heels on floor choice. Nicely done! -
Huh? Do you have some kinda of complex about having to be right? The thread was also about the high demand for these items. My comment was about the popularity of higher end flight controls, and the lack of participation by CH, and LT. It was just a simple comment. Why must you harp on it? Do you own that cheap gear and are offended? If you love plastic that great. If you want to comment further there's the PM feature.
-
Yes but the gimbals are metal. I'm sure you knew that but felt the need to be contrary for some reason. You want a plastic transmission in you car because your Glock is plastic? Plastic has it's place. But, not in flight control gimbals and rudder pedals.
-
Amazing that initial demand has yet to be satisfied. Logitech , CH, and TM are really ,.missing the boat at the high end. I think CH, and LT are too in love with plastic to ever change

Recommend me some rudder pedals
Wmacky replied to PoppaCapnurass's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
For me, the choice is between slaws, and the TM TPR's. Must have metal! Careful with the crosswinds. Your entire foot rides on the pedal like ww2 planes versus heel on the floor, like modern aircraft, and Heli's -
Fantastic! I can't wait. Perhaps more will jump in after this initial group gets started. Have you given any thought to a X-plane plugin? Doesn't hurt to ask right! :-)
-
yes, I haven't seen any reports on how well the completed DCS plugin works?
-
The main issue I would assume is a lack of competition.
-
So Virpl has decided not to comment as of yet?
-
It's not just the VPC mount that's the issue. The increased travel may be an issue with hitting the seat, or your legs when cockpit center mounted.
-
My 5K+ finally came today after more than a year wait. This puts me one step closer to the ultimate VR cockpit I'm constructing.

In the market for a Top end Hotas.

The difference is the new warbrd uses a nice dual cam system, but does not support any but the smallest extensions. 50mm! This is a bad situation, as due to the lack of VKB stock, and the ext. limitation of the Warbrd. It is not currently possible to purchase a cam gimbled stick that allows full extensions. A Virpil replacement is being "talked about", but I just can't imagine why the T-50 was discontinued so prematurely with no "equivalent" replacement? AS for VKB, I got into this 6 months ago, and in that time the VKB sticks became available just one time for a few hours. They are dead to me. -
I've read interesting threads about attaching tactile drivers to joystick bases as sort of a poor mans force Feedback. The results sound promising, however I would be concerned that with a Virpil / VKB type metal base, the mechanisms would quickly wear. In particular, on a T-50 base, I envision the bearing vibration against the cam, slowly wearing it away? Thoughts?
-
And just think, I'm getting ready to add motion, and tactile drivers to my VR setup. I fully expect my head to explode with joy!
-
They are still having stocking issues even with that shinny new factory? Wow! Me thinks Thrust Master, and Logicrap has severely underestimated the demand for high end flight controls?
-
Hey! I can't remember if yours is completed or not yet? Have you tried DCS?
-
Yes there has been some movement. It seems one of the SFX builders has now completed the DCS plug-in, so as far as I can tell it's ready to go! I have not completed my SFX build yet to give it a try, but he seems happy with it. I'm hoping for Xplane next. It sure would be nice if some other from this forum would jump in. I'm the odd man out. as the rest of the builders are mostly racers.

Anyone else with items stuck in US customs?
Wmacky replied to Wmacky's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Update! After my last post, I checked my tracking number one last time, I found they moved up the delivery to today, and they were already at my office! I couldn't wait, and have company keys, so I just made to 2 hour round trip to get them. I have opened the box and they seem to have made it OK! I'm now the proud owner of a lovely set of Slaw pedals -
Anyone else with items stuck in US customs?
Wmacky replied to Wmacky's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I hope mine was package nicely as well. Of course as soon as I posted this thread, tracking shows mine pedals have arrived in city, to be delivered Monday. That's a relief, but I'm still quite concerned as it will be a long 2 day wait to see what a 1 month journey has done to my expensive pedals! -
Super bummed out, as I was hoping to have my new rudder pedals for the weekend. This is the longest shipping time I have ever had in 20 years buying on the Internet. They were shipped out 1 month ago today. They finally showed up at US customs after 3 weeks getting there, then have been stuck for another week! With all that time, I just know these expensive pedals will have been dropped, banged, bent, or otherwise damaged after so long! It seems that Mail customs was not supposed to be affected by the current US government shut down. Anyone know?:helpsmilie:

Virpil Throttle Wearing Out Already *please read*
Wmacky replied to backstab's topic in VIRPIL Controls
If anyone else does this, please take pics of each step! I agree, that it seems impossible those grooves were cut in 3 hours? Surely, that would have been quickly noticed in beta testing?
