Could ED confirm if the preorder countdown is accurate on Steam (and if it’s the same on the ED site)? I’m not asking for a release date here. I just want to know if the preorder window is set, or will be extended as necessary? Reason: eagerly awaiting payday, which is currently after window :(

I believe the damage is something still being worked on.

Thank you. A great resource, just what I was looking for.

I’m aware of Chuck’s guide, it’s great but hasn’t been updated in a while. Where can I find the official ED manual? I assume they update this, with each new release.
-
This appears to be a longstanding issue, that just gets worse with every new version. Looks doubtful ED will ever bother fixing it, it may be at the point, where they need to implement an entirely new system.

Looking into this, it seems a lot of people record in a multiplayer server, regardless if they’re playing alone ot not, this helps avoid these bugs.. Another thing I came across, is that fast forwarding too quickly (over 4x) can cause corruption. This causes things like terrain impacts etc. That didn’t actually happen in mission occur. It seems that the track system, is far too complex and is bug ridden, although it would be an excellent feature if it worked correctly. A bit of a loss for the community and ED, considering how much promotion and marketing is done via users themselves these days.

My track recording seem to be very inconsistent. I’m trying to record single player missions. Sometimes my recordings, are not even of the correct mission, other times only partial parts. The aircraft also seems to crash (literally) when I didn’t crash. Have I not set up the track recording properly.? When the mission ends, I just click quit and save track.

I’m very new to dcs, so I automatically assume it’s something I’m doing wrong, so I can’t confirm if it’s me or the mission unfortunately. Hopefully one of you more experienced guys can confirm it for me later. I’ll drop in a bug report later, if that is the case.

The cats certainly got character.
-
Nice idea. I didn’t even think of that as a possibility, of course the nature of dcs makes these options available. Cheers.

The mission I refer to is actually the first mission - created by HB - Bombing the Iranian reactor. I do remember reading something about the three waypoints limitation. The surface target is not listed, and when I select the term “surface target” jester just says wilco and ignores me. I left it for some time in case he was entering something, I couldn’t hear his usual clicking or anything.
-
Can i get jester to select waypoints above the displayed 3? I’m playing a mission woth several waypoints, I can’t select the next waypoint (4) or the surface target waypoint (5) using the jester menu.

Tornado seems a logical choice for Hearblur. I’d bet a muffin on it.

“Poor form” is the correct phrase. Anyway enough of this. I’m off to get open beta. Eagle dynamics and other associatied developers: It would be nice, if this was made clearer in the future. A consumer should not have to dig through forums, to find out when their cool new jet is actually available (or more accurately, it’s not going to be on the main branch at the promoted date). She does look excellent from what I’ve seen though. Well done HB devs on the product itself.
-
It’s not the existence of open beta that I was commenting on. I’m fine with open betas, especially for something as complex as DCS.
-
My point is there’s nothing informing people, it’s always been this way. You shouldn’t be expected to research the development practices a game (which it mostly is), before you buy something for it. It should be clearly stated that the release date is conditional, that the client uses a certain branch.
-
I was more confused than anything  You’d have to first know DCS’ and EDs development practices, before being able to understand the release date. It’s made even more complicated, when introducing a third party company into the mix.
-
The release date you promote for your product, should not be when it is released into the open beta branch. This is absolutely ridiculous. I have no problem with an open beta, that practice is fine and I welcome it, it’s just the poor communication that’s a disappointment. All the promotional material I saw said “releasing into early access on the 13th”. This commonly refers to a main branch release with lesser features, or the beta branch being the only publicly available branch. This is another example of why DCS is so inaccessible and confusing - to the average consumer. Now I’ve had my rant (a common one I’m sure). Am I correct in thinking I need to download the 60gb open beta branch, to hop into the cockpit today? Btw I’m not “blaming” a particular company, youtuber or article. I just thought this needed to be said. I’m sure many other newer players, are confused aswell.

Is there usually a set time when ED update, to implement new modules?
-
It would be nice If heatblur released another video, to keep us quiet for 10 minutes or so.
-
Well said. The sensible amoung us know, that nobody wants the cat in the marketplace asap more than you guys and HB. I’d prefer rigorous testing as opposed to another Hawk like incident, as I’m sure everyone would in the long run. For people that don’t understand this business: Software development Is difficult and complex.
