  1. Well - maybe with 1-2 small islands? Would be also interesting.
  2. Let's hope its some kind of european/american map? We have already 2 in the desert. Something like the alps or generall green map would be nice.
  4. Same with other FPS games. CS:S for example also downloads all the custom skins, sounds etc.
  5. Without reading any manual/tutorial start an empty Mission and try to bring it alive, try to take oft and probably crash horrible in the process of doing so or trying to land
  6. You need to differenciate. Mods in the same directions are OK. Mods like an RPG in a Milsim (completly different direction etc.) not so. (Well, live and let live) The Problem seems, that most of the New players (which make the majority now) want the game to be developed in a different direction - so it fits their needs more. What does a dev - a company who wants/needs to make a profit - make here? Listen to the biggest part of the community. That seems to be what started to break Armas neck (atleast from looking up recently again how things are ATM)
  8. Forget it. Such new, active jets don't come (fully simulated) into the public. Same thing probably, why the Tornado isn't yet in the game (Even, when many people wish it). It will takes another 10-20 years for it :D
  9. Look at what happened to ArmA III. It's more arcade than sim really - And the community is because of all the trolls and RPG players wasted. Arma 2 was fun, never trolls or big cheaters like in Counter Strike (Source) on the servers, since the player base was quite small and enthusiastic. When everyone bought it for DayZ, shit hit the fan on the normal servers. When the kids got borred of DayZ and all the other mods (I sure have enjoyed dayz mod btw. when it was new and had a small playerbase - before it got hyped by all the streamers, lets players etc.) they came to the other servers and ruined the gameplay for everyone. Arma 3 is dead for most milsim players because of all this mods and people and bohemia went after the money and is pleasing the audience. (It was already dead for me when it got released, I quit like many others) So please be careful what you wish for - You don't want to attract the wrong community/audience on such an epic combat simulator... Also don't underestimate to implement some "minor" things - A lot of ressources will be alocated.
  10. F18, F16, F14, ... It all comes together. I will never fly red probably :D
  11. ^This
  13. Not only in the USAF etc. - But also airline pilots usually have one or two type ratings, as far as I know.
  14. Same for me. I have all the buttons/switches mapped on my HOTAS - I am currently flying the Mirage2000 and FA18 with a bit here and there F5E. The FA18 is still in learning phase for me, but it works. Mostly, because I can click the buttons in VR, which I havent mapped to physical switches on the HOTAS. That makes it way easier for me to remember functions, since I know where I need to look at. Before I started buying all the modules (I played for ~2 years DCS 1.5 with only Flaming Cliffs) I had no problem flying the F15, Mig29 and Su25, but now I feel it hard to keep them correctly in the air. Thats how things change :joystick:
  15. So I have opened the AJS37 Manual located in my aircraft folder (Install directory --> \DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\AJS37\Doc) - It states the following regarding the first altimeter on Page 29: "Indicates barometric altitude in metres. A pressure setting dial is located on the bottom with a corresponding scale. The pressure is for hectopascal (hPa)..." Further on it tells you to set the standard pressure, that the aircraft uses QFE (pressure calibrated to the airfield or ground elevation). On Page 35 (Backup flight instruments) it says basically the same thing. Here you can also set the pressure in hPa seperatly for the 2nd altimeter (Maybe useful for missions - main is for your home airport, 2nd is for the bombing place). For the 2nd Altimeter there isnt anything mentioned about special technical specifications, how it measures them - So either it does not the same as the first, or maybe it does, it just isn't mentioned a 2nd time? The screenshot in your first post shows clearly, that you have set the same pressure for the main and backup altimeter...
  16. That was a question. I have the Viggen Module, but since I didn't come yet to really flying it (Despite some just flying around), I haven't read the manuals yet. But from reading the other manuals --> Those gauges are explained usually?
  17. Isn't this explained in the user manual?
  25. Think of the Lexus LFA - They introduced a carbon reinforced frame while in development. Before (As much as I heard) they started dev it with a normal metal/aluminium chassis. If that is true, I don't want to know how much had to be redesigned :music_whistling: I am looking forward to this btw. - I figured out I need a SimPit myself :)
