  1. Ooooh, Blackhawk confirmation.
  2. It's not an immediate buy for me, though I will probably make a supportive purchase a little closer to EA release. I do share the sense of intrigue others feel when eyeing Russian aircraft. They have a function over form aesthetic that's very appealing. I think the 2 seat ub version is better looking. My fondness lies with their helos. I'd love to (one day) see a Mil-28 or Ka-52, but given current day problems, that's very unlikely. Oh how lovely it would be if Wags recent hint at another developing helicopter was one of those.
  3. Thank you. I'm up and running in a fraction of the time it would normally take. All seems to be operating normally. All the best. Brian
  4. Such quick useful advice everyone. I'm off to give that a try now. Thank you.
  5. I think I was close to 'a'. 'b' sounds like a great idea. I will try that. Thank you
  6. Hello, IT newbee here. Recently upgraded my pc. My internet is chronically slow, (we are talking 8 hrs for a single new map download) so I've followed the apparently simple process of copying the DCS install from the original SSD to the new pc SSD, to avoid 3 days of downloading. Initially this quick transfer seemed to work fine. However, when looking for the ,"repair DCS" icon (which I usually access through tabs in the win11 start menu) the usual DCS, dcs start, repair, update icons were missing. I also found that DCS was not listed under installed Apps on Win11. I'm currently running Win 11 unactivated, does that have an impact? Why are the icons missing? I know that I will have to create a shortcut on the desktop to start the game, but why are the other icons missing. I imagined they'd auto-populate. There's probably a simple solution. I will continue to search the forum, but if anyone can clear the mist for me, that would be great. Brian
  7. Agreed. I've experienced similar. I'm prepared to accept mine is likely a skill issue, but yes. Holding nose up at and trimmed at 10°, w on w, brakes full on, and yet, a gentle backwards roll. I am using the minimum collective required to maintain that position I wonder if the upcoming "hover/position hold" is something that is or could be used in this instance to aid in holding those positions. I've no idea how that's used or implemented. Irl hook pilots will tell me either way hopefully. Currently, pinnacles are the work of a stick magician. I am not that. Cheers.
  8. Thanks for responding Floyd1212. I was worried it was something I was doing. Happy Easter
  9. I've 2 solutions. 1.Virpil warbird D with a short extension and F18 stick. Springs and a little cam resistance. 2. Komodo Apache with dampers. (Just had to have the irl cyclic). Nicely sensitive, light holds dead stick positions nicely. Purchased it before the Apache released.
  10. I have found that the instant action hot start missions associated with the Germany map and the AH64 create an anomaly. Firstly, the IHADDS acceleration cue and flight path marker seem to be operating at a lower frequency, as if they are at 15 fps. Very laggy. Normally glass smooth. Also the altitude carrot is jittery. Wanders up and down wildly regardless of collective. When accelerating and maneuvering the flight path marker seems to indicate opposite to the cyclic input, producing a decent when pulling back and a climb when pushing forward. Rolling causes a similar issue either a climb to one side or a dive to the other. It gives the appearance of a broken flight model. Visually everything appears normal. Does not happen when cold starting through mission editor. Easy to test. Start the AH64 Germany instant action hot start mission.
  11. Apologies, it wasn't intended as a thread hi-jack. I've experienced both issues. I will re-visit the violent pitch up you describe, though I'd put that down to my choice of instant trim, sprung joystick. The circumstance I mention happens when level flight is demanded. Within a few seconds of setting a speed/attitude and altitude, a nose down or up occurs. I guess you could call it gentle. Maybe I'm trying to cruise too fast. I'd not considered the LCT/DASH as part of the potential cause. Thanks.
  12. I should have also mentioned that I have checked and re-checked my control bindings, axis, for conflicts, oversensitive settings etc. It definitely feels like a fight currently. I may (unusually for me) have to sit back from the hook for a while, until a fix or two resolves the 'cruising' instability. It would be great if one of the sme's or an irl Chinook F pilot could offer some insight. There's every chance I'm doing it wrong.
  13. As you are searching for others..... Same here, I've observed pitching moments both nose up and down after trim is 'set'. In my case bump trim does not resolve it. The problem is exacerbated by speed above 130, where porpoising requires frequent heavy fore and aft cyclic inputs to fight rapid uncommanded descent or climb. I'm sure this behaviour is abnormal.
  14. Many years ago I was advised that (when emotional) write down what you feelings are in the form of a complaint. As angry, petulant, and insulting as you want. Then throw it in the waste.
  15. I look forward to the best version of an F35 that can be made. I don't expect to see it on the suggested time scale, but I'm happy to trust that it will be of high quality.
