  1. Greetings Kizer 77. Love set of paints. I've downloaded, haven't installed yet. But are these sim ready only, or do you have clean O.D. and N.M. templates? I'd be interested. Thanks.
  2. Just wanted to check before I went to all that trouble. :) Thanks for affirming.
  3. HI! Just got Normandy and the WW2 Assets 3 days ago and everything installed flawlessly. Thank you. I've spent the last two days far too long in the mission builder constructing flights and figuring out the mission builder etc. I've seen what appears to be a flaw in the B-17 AI. This is between waypoints with changing elevations. What I was expecting to see was a nice even Hypotenuse line from one waypoint to the next, but what I see in game is the bombers fly a relatively low slope, if any until they're almost on top of the next and higher waypoint where all of a sudden they turn into A.O.A. on elevation changes some to 15 or more degrees and rapidly losing energy and dropping from their level flight speeds of around 150 MPH, to below sustainable speeds for that steep of a climb. Can we have this looked at and have the math in the AI worked out that should an elevation change in waypoints occur, that it calculates what the hypotenuse is and fly that angle. So say I put an elevation change of 500 feet between waypoints that are 40 miles apart the AI should calculate that from the first to the second it needs to climb steadily between the points and not wait till the last minute then try to do the stair way to heaven thing where energy bleeds off and the planes fall from sky. Thanks.
  4. I've found and downloaded the B-17G skins for Normandy and the WW2 Assets. So I've unzipped the templates and find everything is in Russian, as far as layers and the like go, so the question is: If I take these templates and rename layers to English, is that or will that affect their input into the sim? Thanks. :helpsmilie:
  5. 130 is a bit too late for my tastes. Now if you can make it C-47 … I'd jump on it in a heartbeat. :)
  6. HI! I'm fairly new to all this, almost 3 whole days now. So I got the latest world then immediately ordered the Normandy Map and the WW2 Assets bundle. Everything installed flawlessly and I've spent way too much time already in the mission builder, attempting to replicate WW2 8th Airforce Bomber flights. I've managed to work out a function whereby several flights hook up over the channel and make a combined bomb run on a target in France. I've done this by selecting one group of planes as the lead group, then pinning the second group to them, the third group gets pinned to the second group, and the fourth group gets pinned to the third group. Anyhow you get my drift. So the bombers make their formation and it looks fantastic! They fly it near flawlessly, (still figuring out the bombing thing/trigger,) and they start their return trip back to England. However when I get to a point where I want to separate everyone from following each other, it doesn't seem to allow me to do so and all the aircraft pile into each other on one airfield. :( So My Wish Is … can we get an "UNFOLLOW" command for waypoints so formations consisting of multiple formations can separate and return to their respective airfields? Thanks.
  7. Hello! If it isn't too late, I'd like to suggest that if a new WW2 map is in development that you extend the northern boundary to the 60 degree lat. and 56 degree long. That way we can cover all Allied bases on the English Island for air bases and plan a proper air war. Thanks for taking this in advisement.
  8. Greetings Developers, I'd love to see the Normandy map extended to the North to either the 60th Lat or to Stamford. This way we can encompass all of the region that the 8th occupied for bomber bases. And while I'm speaking of bomber bases what software tools are needed to create these bases to get them in map? Appreciate your attention and comments. Respectfully Snuffy
  9. Yer flying in the wrong era. Yep, it's me. I got 2.5 world and then purchased the Normandy map and the WW2 Assets pack as a bundle. It's stand alone. :) I had a great time so far spending most of all last night in the mission builder tweaking.
  10. To the developers of the WW2 Assets Pack. Thanks for a wonderful package to go with Normandy. However unless I have missed something, and it's likely I have being this new to the program, I would love to see a variety of load outs for the B-17s. Currently all we have are the M43 500 lb. But according to Mr. Roger A. Freeman, in his book "The Mighty Eighth, War Manual" on page 222 where he starts a chapter on bomb loads the 8th carried, he lists the following: M30 100 lb M31 300 lb M43 500 lb M44 1,000 lb and the M34 2,000 lb. But that's not all he also states that the 8th carried these as well: M50A1 4 lb incendiaries in 100 lb clusters and 500 lb clusters M1 120 lb fragment for use against troops And later in 1944 Napalm was dropped by the 8th in 108 gallon fighter drop tanks and became known as Class C Fire Bombs, these came with a incendiary ignitor affixed to the tanks which of course ruptured on contact. Thanks again for such a wonderful asset package and I look forward to future improvements and additions. Respectfully, Snuffy
  11. I'd love to see DCS take the old Microprose B-17 game and convert it. The Western Front Map in that old game covered pretty much everything that was possible to fly during WW2. I'd also like to see the assets increased to include all the aircraft ever flown in the Western Front, so that we could build a historically accurate re-creation of the air war. Thanks for reading.
