  1. Hi, I took the picture at the Pima Air and space museum in Tucson AZ. Greta place with all the goodies, inside and and huge area outside. I guess it’s just the shell left with all the dangerous stuff removed. Here are some more...
  2. They should probably look like this?
  3. Hi, I never tested the Odyssey + in this program. I'll see if I can do that next week.
  4. I have a 2080Ti 11GB, the other day I checked and DCS used 9 ish GBs. Clarity vise with the Reverb I bought a test room for SteamVR. Different tests for VR headsets. As I did the regular vision test I ended up with 20/20 vision at 4 meters. The perfect would be 5 meters. However, that is darn close. In DCS I have no problems seeing what I want to see. I have previous experience with Odyssey +. They were kind of acceptable with PD 1.8 etc and were really testing my system. Gave me around 30 FPS. Now I've PD 150% in SteamVR, 1.0 in DCS. and have FPS around 60.
  5. It's awsome, like being there. After landing I sometimes raise tha canopy and "step" out of the cockpit to look around the bird, it blows my mind every time...
  6. So I've spent some time now with the Reverb. As stated earlier my fantastic FPS vanished maybe with the update last week or with SteamVR switching from 60Hz to 90Hz. I haven't had a blackout for a long time although I've spent several hours with the headset. I still have flickering on the right eye from time to time, last only a couple of minutes. And a stuck/dead pixel on the right eye. The intermittent sound I've probably fixed by tightening the screws that fix the headphones to the headset. The visuals are stunning and I love flying DCS now. The only thing missing is the new Hornet stick and all the HOrnet gadgets... I called HP support Scandinavia for an update on my inquiry. I was too optimistic after my first chat with them and the two days express shipping of a gen 2 wasn't real. Now we're looking at 24th of July and probably gen 1. But, I don't mind as the ones I have kind of works.
  7. Thanks guys! The thing was that in WMR it was set to 90Hz (60HZ gives me bad Visuals) but SteamVR was stuck at 60Hz. That gave really good FPS. There's no option as far as I can see to change this in SteamVR.
  8. Does anyone know how to force 60 Hz instead of 90 Hz SteamVR? By magic, I guess mine ended up on 60Hz about a week ago. That gave me high FPS in the 70-90s. Now, I've probably touched something and it's back in the 40-50s... Not bad but I'd rather have the high ones. Only thing I know I've changed is the DCS resolution from 1024x768 to the highest. Anyone?
  9. So I called HP support Scandinavia today and was redirected from private to corporate support as several already have experienced. The lady at the other end was very friendly, took my details, the issues with the headset and said that I should expect a new one within some days. I told her about the expected waiting time some of you have been given. She promised me that this was not the case. It would be packed tomorrow and be sent by expedited shipping. I’m to return the other one when able with the free return slip. She didn’t seem to be up to speed with all the issues with the Reverb, but after checking with a colleague she confirmed that this would not be a new faulty headset. I said I’d rather wait for a good one than get another fault. Again she confirmed that shouldn’t be necessary. So, that was what she said, and probably believe is true. So far this has been a positive endeavor, but time will tell...
  10. Yepp, tilted or distorted somehow. I know that with the O+ some people had a miss alignment problem between the two screens. Samsung paid attention and made a fix for this in DCS. A don’t have this in X-Plane 11 or P3D so I don’t think it’s the IPD. Also, my manual IPD setting in the O+ used to be 64. Had blackout again today, but the FPS was good. I’ll post my specs and settings when I get the time.
  11. Hi, I have measured my IPD to 64 as well, via the scientific mirror method. Looking into the lenses one eye at a time the match pretty good with the sweet spot. And, this doesn’t happen in other sims or the cliff house.
  12. A lot of negative here so let me fill in. Did some more flying today, about two hours with FPS in the 70s. The only glitch was flickering half way on the right eye that lasted one minute. Then after about two hours it started with the black outs. I tried several times to restart dcs and X-Plane but CTDed. SteamVR shuts down, not WMR. I restarted the computer, fired up X-Plane and did 30minuts with no glitches. Again, visuals are superb. I’m not going back to my O+, but I am filing a complaint to HP. Although I guess this might be a software or usb problem. Btw, I think I’ve turned off all the usb power saving options. Also, in dcs I have a feeling that the eyes are not completely aligned. I get somewhat tumbleweed putting the headset on, then I guess the eyes adapt and the feeling fades. I don’t get the same in X-Plane or P3D. Anyone else?
  13. Did a couple of Instant action flights in the Hornet and Tomcat. I have 150% in Steam VR, PD 1.0. Shadows Medium, MSAA x2 and Visuals to High. I have been down in the 30s when it comes to FPS but know it was somehow stuck at 60 FPS. Some other guy had the same thing, SteamVR is at 60HZ (I didn't do it as far as I know) and WMR is at 90HZ. So playing around, dogfighting at 60FPS and no glitches so far after the USB power fix. I don't think it's the cable that causes the glitches as I move quite a lot when dogfighting. Time will show. The clarity and readability is awsome!
  14. Same thing, I did uncheck all power saving options for the computer under all USB assets for this. Played around for almost two hours without any blackouts. I don’t say it’s fixed, but it looks promising. Still tweaking the graphics to get FPS and a good picture.
  15. Yeah, I don’t get it. I usually open wmr and have it st to pause (=no picture), it automatically opens steam vr, I then open DCS. I can also open DCS directly and it will start the others. I haven’t noticed any difference in performance, although I haven’t done a scientific study on the matter. Would there be a better option you say? Like a hidden file somewhere that does magic?
  16. What do you mean? How do you go about to launch a session in DCS? Is it the Windows cliff house that’s annoying?
  17. So here’s my story. I’ve been using the O+ for six months with its twerks. I’ve had ok frames around 40 and no stutters. My biggest problem being the readability of the displays in the Hornet. So, for two days I’ve been testing my new Reverb. The readability is definitely better than the O+ but... 1. When I put them on in DCS it seems like there are some misalignment as my eyes need to recalibrate. It’s a strange feeling. Initially I figured it had to do with the IPD, but mine is at 64 and I’ve played around and checked the physical alignment in the glasses, that’s spot on. The O+ had some misalignment error that were fixed via a software debugger in dcs. This might be the same. 2. The Reverb gets really hot. 3. I’ve had several instances of flickering both eyes. Also they gone black ones in a while. So I started testing a bit. Some say this is due to the cable and the contact on the headset. Mine turned black when looking left. So I held the head straight and only manipulated the cable- nothing. So, it all came down to the fact that looking left had me looking right at the carrier. This also gives me a significant drop in FPS. Whenever looking at objects it goes down to the 30s, looking up it can go to 90. My five cents is that the reverb gets to warm, or can’t handle the load. It might be the GPU (2080TI) but I doubt that. 4. Being a O+ driver I didn’t know what screen door effect was, now I do. It looks like the picture is superimposed on a canvas. It might be that you get used to it by time. That’s my first impression.
  18. Hi, for me I now just start DCS and don’t worry about WMR and Steam VR apps, they will start by themselves. I sometimes minimize the WMR window and maximize the DCS one. For eye distance setting I’ve found that looking at text in cockpit or elsewhere and adjusting to where it goes blurry and then back a notch works best. Sometimes you can even see the sweet spot in the lens. The tweak I posted was a must for me to get a sharp picture. As posted, the Steam VR app settings down rate the resolution of the WMR headset. This is something else than adjusting the super sampling that he does in the video you posted. Super sampling you can play with later to tweak the graphics quality vs frames per second FPS. Hope you’ll figure it out!
  19. Here you go https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=228658
  20. Hi check this post: Amazing ODYSSEY clear vision tweak ! Changes some setting in Steam VR that improves clarity and readability of cockpit text. Performance depends on your system specs, in game settings and steam settings (super sampling). I did read a lot of posts and tweaking around until I now have a acceptable condition. You should also check the shaders mod for VR: Shaders mod for better VR performance (experimental) Also, with regards to the head tracking, make sure you’re in a lit room. The cameras need to see stuff to be able to track. Hope you get it fixed!
  21. Hi, had the same problem, couldn’t read the cockpit text and instruments. Then I found this post that to a big degree solve the issue: Amazing ODYSSEY clear vision tweak ! https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=96
  22. Thanks a lot for this tip! I spent two weeks tweaking back and forth with the sliders but without readable text in the F-18. Then I finally came over this tread and as by magic everything became sharper. I still tweak around to find the best compromise between graphics and frames. So, I haven’t concluded yet, but will post my settings when I have them. Specs: intel i7700 4.2 OC to 4.8 GHz, RTX 2080ti, 32 GB, SSD, Samsung Odyssey+
