  1. Yep exactly what I am trying to do without avail Thanks a lot! Care to share how you do it...
  2. When there is time for one, there is time for a second one, beware of the special effects from rolling camera angles, might need a bucket to hold everything together
  3. Not sure what happened but after last flight all worked as it is supposed to. I did not update the game in the mean time, nor did I repair it. Absolute mistery. Thanks
  4. It is great to finally have some news on the WW2 front, thanks Ugra. Looking forward to warbirds and WW2 asset pack news from ED as well as and more importantly, for the badly needed change logs with important development updates and bug fixes, they have been reported for a long time. ED stated that the WW2 Dev Team is small, that you are aware that things are slow on that front, that we need to be patient, that this is what early access means. I personally purchased these products in the line of the F/A-18C, building on the reputation of the A10C, my understanding was at that moment that every ED product that I would decide to purchase would be developed in a similar fashion. I therefore do not understand how ED can ask WW2 fans to be patient when there is hardly any news or progress on that front. Yes, nobody forced me to purchase, I simply did it on the basis of trust. I can read on the WW2 side of the forum that all the WW2 hard core fans that frequently use these products and report bugs are not happy about the abandon state, please ED show us good will by giving the needed resources for the dedicated dev team to start removing things from the to do list, our planes are taking dust in the hangars and it's a petty because they are very good looking, please do it also for Ugra as an incentive to their work so Normandy 2.0 becomes as popular as the Syria map within the community, so other WW2 maps can be developed or simply for the Normandy 2.0 map to be expanded avoiding problems like the one that was discussed at length by the proximity of the Ugra Normandy 2.0 and the ED Channel Map. We need to get back on a road map and for development progress to be part of our daily dose of WW2 news, no more news letters without a little update on the WW2 front however small it is. Yes, I can fly other modules in the mean time, but not everyone is that lucky, some users only have the Mossie, others only the Spitfire and are simply not using DCS while waiting for things to be fixed and the products to be developed enough. At the moment night flying and for that matter IMC flying is compromised with the broken artificial horizons, it’s been like that for over a decade, one cannot call this “patience”. Thanks, PS : small typo corrections
  5. Indeed, but these conversations are very interesting to people that have a lot of money invested and are worried of a price tag that keeps increasing for a final product that is ever delayed and end up being sold through discounts in an unfinished state under the excuse that dev teams are small or that the development is so complex that it takes over a decade to fix the artificial horizon on warbirds, just to take an example. I am personally not satisfied with the price tag vs quality of DCS maps, technology allows for much better results now a days. I do however agree that DCS is a compromise of many things for it to work, I therefore hope for the dev team to find ways to offer a spherical earth largely based on AI work to reduce cost while at the same time keeping the current trend of expensive and detailed maps (which they are currently not) for those that can afford it. I will personally not buy more maps until such affordable and global offer is provided if ever, I will however concentrate my investments on released and test proven modules that have earned unanimously the customers base satisfaction award on both quality and product support. Thanks,
  6. Good Day, Is there a way to get the Drag Indexes, Weights for each store and pylon in order to conduct performances and flight planning calculations ? For the weights, I have done some work extracting data from the loadout window from the ME, however the results I am getting are strange since the zero fuel weight is calculated with external pylons. It is possible to find the weight of these external pylons by removing them even if that makes the zero fuel weight move to negative values which is a weird way of calculating weights since we are not in space The reason I am asking this informations is because I believe there is a mistake on the final figure that has been retained on the zero fuel weight and that this mistake could be linked to the reason that these external pylons could have been added two times. Thanks, pylon i/o weapon
  7. No big deal, but still out of logic. HB does not have to correct this tiny little detail; my intention was just to point it out for later refinement.
  8. Of course not a bug, but still misplaced. HB does not have to correct this tiny little detail; my intention was just to point it out for later refinement.
  9. Yes spot on, sorry I did not add a screeshot for you. Have a good day, Thanks,
  10. Eagerly awaiting for the Spherical Earth with photo sat & 1m mesh resolution, allowing customers to choose resolution for sat pictures and terrain mesh according to specs. That information and content is now a days almost free on the web. The price tag for map development vs result seems high. Often when you join a virtual squadron you are required to have a list of maps, that price tag + modules is getting out of the way for many of us. Not saying we should not keep it for those that can afford such level of development but, I would be in favor to a more economically driven solution and I deeply hope that it would come in the form of a Spherical Earth. Donwload only the areas of interest and more if you can afford it with extra storage. Space vs a lower level of development considering that we do not need every object to have a damage model and so forth. Open up the possibility for users to develop and share 3D structures with damage models and soon all areas of interest will be populated for free. When civilian sims got interested in combat activities, I was happy placing destroyable assets & units on the Earth, according to mission planning, I knew not all structures simulated had a damage model but that the combat area of interest would after some editing work that is. Navigation and Real Weather conditions where challenging but the shear space around you was threlling and so immersive. DCS world used to be free and ED concentrated in High Tech payware modules, I miss these times. ED decided to go down the road of dedicated teams for each map, that would be a dream if the same could happen with airframes, allowing for a project to be started and hope to see it complete, then and only then we can move to more products and I will happily use all my bank account to buy them, yes all of them !
  11. TGT Longitude rotary knob should increase when holding with left mouse button and dragging to the right as with Latitude, it currently does the opposite. The mouse wheel rotating function is also inverted. To me it seems right to move up the wheel for increments and down for decreasing or said differently the function should work in the same way we use the mouse wheel to scroll up and down a document and more importantly both rotary for Lat and Long should work in the same way to avoid confusion while flying. Thanks,
  12. Degrees icon misplaced on the Longitude TGT window, currently placed after the first decimal when it should be placed after the hundreds of a three digits longitude. Thanks,
  13. Just noticed that the right engine sound spool up goes up by distinctive sound levels, like if it was playing different sound tracks as it spools up as opposed to a continuous and progressive sound increment. I only noticed this on the right engine. Thanks,
  14. Sorry I had to... Can we please have at least a monthly newsletter for warbirds & WW2 Ok I am out... Have a good weekend everyone! PS: Looking forward to these MI24 liveries
  15. Nice, lucky boy. I just upgraded my laptop so I will ask you again in a couple of years when I find the extra $$$ My previous laptop did an Atlantic Ocean crossing on a sail boat, was nice to have DCS on board the TM WT still working as it's first day, just a bit rusty Thanks,
  16. It would be interesting to know gear specs, graphics settings when comparing map performances. I only run DCS on a gaming laptop so, I guess I will have to live with the fuzzy feeling at 200ft. Hopefully one day I will upgrade to a custom PC. I did notice Normandy 2.0 offers more crisps details when flying down low but, it comes at a cost, I can only setup small scenarios compared to the PG.

    DCS-recorder

Yep, more info can be found here : Artificial Horizon Intermittent I discovered this problem flying the Mosquito and then learned that the problem is the same accross all warbirds. On the Mosquito it happens all the time making it impossible to fly IMC

    DCS-recorder

I just landed here after an internet search, nice to see like minded virtual pilots. I now use DCS for what it has to offer, trying to push basic stuff that is not yet properly implemented like a working artificial horizon in warbirds after over 10 years of customers feedback and requests, still not fixed. That being said DCS is focused on multiplayer so the best way to train is to join a squadron and that can beat any FSRecorder track. The flexibility of these little tools is that you do not have to go through all the indoctrination before you can have fun flying formation. There is always a cost with realism and it is time.
  19. Nice to hear ED continues improving the track replay function. FSRecorder allowed players to distinctively activate or deactivate every unit previously recorded, object simulated, tracks played without having to add any unit, therefore previously recorded AI just played back as a normal track (read AI was deactivated), however it was still possible to detect it on the radar and shoot it down, the software was smart enough to take over after the missile impact and play the AI falling off the skies in flames. The program was not designed for combat simulations and undoubtedly the integration process might be well too complex to merge with DCS, not forgetting the other priorities for such a complex project that has became DCS. I just thought I could expand on the initial request since it is a program I enjoyed and used extensively for training purposes. Anyways the DCS wish list length could circumnavigate the planet so, I won’t be putting too many expectations on the request, just nice to see our sim tech evolve over time.
  20. Was very useful in other sims, very easy to implement while ED finishes the supercarrier and airframe handling in airbases.
  21. There was little program that I enjoyed with other sims called FSRecorder, allowing to record your flights and then combine and replay all the tracks at the same time as you flew in a new session. I used it to fly formation in a more realistic way than what we can currently do by following AI, although the traffic was actually limited to the path of the recording, it actually was very immersive, provided you didn't mess up during the recording all flights followed real life procedures, even worked with carrier ops. Had different tracks of traffic according to wind direction in the event that one day we get realistic weather data online. Just for clarity, it is just a piece of software that allows players to record all the traffic of a session or individually select/deselect what is recorded. The data can be replayed and customized at wish while flying a new session with all the tracks populating the virtual skies. Since we are in a combat simulator even weapons would be recorded, while limited by removing the randomness of battles, it could be a very nice tool for video artists, for training purposes or simply to recreate a battle environment where the player must accomplish a specific task. The other benefit I see to it is saving an enormous amount of AI calculations for units that are just spawned for environment purposes. The data base of all DCS players flight could be huge and tracks could be exchanged between players for mission building. I just added it to the whish list PS: The title of the topic is misleading, the tracks do not play as AI, they just play out following whatever pattern the player or the AI followed during the recording. The track can then be played in a new mission without adding any units to a new map, every unit that was recorded will populate (Air/Ground/Sea) back and the mission will replay with just the player being able to freely fly as the track playback.
  22. FSRecorder in DCS could be an awesome training tool for single players. I used to record all my flights in another sim with it and create realistic traffic by combining and replaying all the tracks at the same time. After a year of recordings airbases, airports where very much alive with traffic following real life procedures. A simple and amazing peace of software that would be very much welcomed in DCS. Having FSRecorder in DCS does not mean that players will stop flying on-line, its just one more interesting tool to hone our aviators skills.
