  1. Thank you! I will let him know ASAP. Is there any time limit on this offer? I am in the midst of building his new system right now and need to get that completed first (of course!)
  2. "DCS 50% Discount on the first order for new users" Image at the top of the Forum... does this cover all modules and maps or certain ones? Are there any limitations on total number purchased? I know its for new users but I have a buddy that is about to get into DCS and I would like to dig out the information on this for him so he can begin to get the modules he wants. Thanks...
  3. We bumped it to a 3070... Its price came way down at Amazon. Thanks guys!
  4. I hope it does as well as you predict. I am sure he will enjoy and move up to a better GPU in the future.
  5. Thank you for that information. I thought 4K was 3440 x 1440... Its the highest I can reach on my monitor and on my 60 inch UHD TV when I use it as a monitor ... In addition this is more of a combo gaming and working system for him, running Autocad and for gaming using Falcon BMS as well as DCS. Once he learns the ropes in both he can bump the card if he feels the need... But we couldn't beat the price of only 379 for a brand new 3060 last week.
  6. Its QHD capable but he is running it in regular HD right now with his existing setup. My Samsung curved monitor is running DCS at full 4K at 3440 x 1440 with a 3070Ti with no issues...

    frame rate

Ahhh... Now I understand. Thanks for the info.
  8. I'm building up a system for a buddy and this is what I have for hardware... i5-12600KF &a RTX 3060 plus 32GBs of DDR4 Ram and a 1TB M.2 Drive Is that CPU & GPU good enough for DCS with high graphics? Im running a i7-700K & RTX 3070 Ti on my system so this one is definitely a bit lower down on the food chain... Forgot to add he has a 32" curved monitor running at 200Hz with 1ms response.

    frame rate

Why does he have to go to the guidelines about asking how to display the frame rate per second in the game?
  10. Probably A Stupid Question - Can you have both Beta and Stable versions of DCS installed at the same time? If so can they be on the same system and the same hard drive or on a second drive? I have been looking for this information but have not been able to locate it. Thanks...
  11. You should check your system to see what the allocated RAM is from other software running in the background on your computer. You might have 32GB but how much of it is actually freed up? I ran into such a problem and found I had apps eating into my available memory. Shutting them down or removing them solved the issue.
  12. What is the internal fuel load of the MiG-19P? What source did Razbam use? I cant find it anywhere online.
  13. Yes it says I have a license as well though I never bought it... Guess they are giving a chance to fly it to buy it...
  14. ... question was answered. Thanks. You can delete this if you like.
  15. Well therein lies the problem... The page I am taken to for payment is not sagepay.co.uk as I am not in the UK... It takes me to saferpay.com and it is not giving the paypal option.
  16. This error of no paypal option is still occurring as of 2/1/2020. I opened a ticket.
  17. This feature was present on Jane's Navy Fighters and Fighters Anthology in 1997... When being launched off the cat or cleared to come aboard it automatically turned into the wind. It sure should be a standard feature of DCS today.
  18. Does anyone know what the performance reduction is for the AIM-120 if you drag it down to low altitude? I would think DCS uses a set of tables for performance per 1000 ft of altitude (at least that is how I would do it)... Does anyone know, or have an approximation of this? Would be helpful when planning missions for AI fighters and what altitudes to place them for best or worse performance of their missile...
  19. I have DCS 2.5 with multiple modules (F-14,F-15,F-18,MiG-29, etc) but I also have older sims running on an old system at my vacation house... It gives me something to do on days when we get rained on!
  20. Why does the Tunguska used Optical Guidance for its SA-19 Missiles in DCS instead of Radio Command Guidance as in real Life? The optical guidance system is a backup that is supposed to be used if jamming is excessive or in case of mechanical issues with the guidance radar. But in DCS its optical all the time and way to accurate with its optical guidance, which again is not correct as the reported engagement ranges and guidance is much more limited in optical mode in Real Life...
  21. I have a copy of Platinum that I purchased online and checked the serial number. Its only been registered once, but its still listed as active with the autoactivation listed as DISABLED. Does that mean that I cant install this copy of FC2 with this key? The direct output from the serial check is listed below... Star Force serial number parameters Product: Flaming Cliffs 2 Activated: Yes Blacklisted: No Expired: No Number of activations has been exceeded: No Type: Release Number of activations spent/total: 1 / 8 Add activation automatically: Disabled
  22. There are CAG Birds for each squadron aboard. The CAG is the Commander Air Group. These birds are listed under him but flown by many other pilots aboard. They are usually numbered 100, 200, 300, etc.. Randy "Duke" Cunningham made his 3 kills in a day in Vietnam in the CAG's "Double Nuts" (200) numbered F-4 in 1972.
