Ok the answer to my own question is no! I went through loads of processes and changed them to core 2 and 3 and left DCS on core 0 and 1 with no gain at all :(

Just did a quick test on my comp, Vista 64 Q6600 dcs max all 4 cores 26 then 37 fps when tool kicks in dcs max core 0,2 26 then 37 fps when tool kicks in dcs max core 0,1 26 then 38 fps dcs max core 0,1,2 26then 37 fps dcsbs_affinity_tool 37 fps from instant aff set Just a quick question to those in the know, if performance is the same on 2 cores as 4 would it be beneficial to run DCS on say core 0 and 1 and TrackIR TS Ect on cores 2 and 3?

Yeh I did have the jerky zoom but I noticed its a problem with the slider and or rotary dial on the x52, I went into control panel and the problem is evident in there, at certain points they flicker between 2 points which gives you jerky movement at certain points in game. Having said that today I noticed that there is a mouse scroll wheel on the x52 which by default zooms in and out... guess the problem is fixed :)

Hi For anybody that isnt aware (not sure if this has been covered, flame as necessary) the beta 2 software now knows the differance between right and left shift keys. If you download and install it it your old profile will still be there so no worries on that front. To find the beta release go here http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=16643 then choose 32 or 64 bit

Using a Plasma Flatscreen for Black Shark

Trackir works about 4 foot away but you can always move the camera closer -
Hi I would like to assign the slider on the throttle stick of the x52 to zoom view in and out, has anybody managed it without simply using "bands"?

If you have 1080p then your native resolution is 1920x1080 so your text should be clear although maybe a little small. If you google "clear type" you should get a link to the microsoft website which activates it for you and gives you sample text to choose from -

llams, is your set 1080i or 1080p? I had a sony 26" 1080i set and the the text was pretty poor at 1920x1080 the solution unfortunatly was a dell 22" 1080p monitor now the text is very crisp. In vista maybe XP but wouldnt know you can turn on clear-type, this may help a little -
Cheers pall, when I get enough "rep" my profile picture will feature a smile!!

The problem would be with your cpu I imagine, I had an ATI 4850 which ran the game fine, make sure water is set to normal is the biggest improvement then the mirrors help. In CCC make sure that A.I is disabled or standard the rest shouldnt make much difference. You should be able to have 4x AA 16xAF and mipmap on quality, I dont have the v sync option on or the triple buffer.

Lol, one note if you do use the profile editor before you save the profile be sure to select "save all CCC settings" or words to that effect

I had bad issues running DCS on a 1080i set, see my previous posts!! -
I changed C:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Config\Graphics line 355 to 60 that worked as far as I can tell, dont forget the Notepad++ tho!!
-
I use affinity tool so I set my profile in CCC to launch that which makes things a lot easier + when I plug in my x52 the profiler auto loads so its pretty much a right click then a left click to load DCS :)

List of Graphic Card suggestions
Washer UK replied to peterjohnkerner's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I had a single ATI 4850 and upgraded to an ATI 4870 which didnt give me much of a performance boost, lowering all my graphics settings doesnt give me much of a boost either so I would recomend a 4850 for DCS, has plenty of power to run it. -
Hmmm may as well remain on 8.12. Seems like to much work when ever i want to play BS to keep remmebering to turn my AI off then remember to turn it back on again when ever i play all my other stuff is a bit to much for me really. Same for me, I made profiles now to load all my games, then just right click the CCC in the system tray and activate profile, in the profile manager if you point it to the .exe of a game you activate profile and game loads, easy peasy!
