Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
Ed Hunter replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
First thanks for the time and effort you have put in to this  second why cant i get it to work properly had no problems setting up 2 screens in BS I have 2 monitors main 22" 1680x1050 2nd to the left 19" 1440x900 changed the monitor in game options to "mine" and res to 3120x1050 my lua _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('mine'); Description = 'One monitor configuration' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = screen.width; height = screen.height; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = screen.aspect; } } LEFT_MFCD = { x = 1680; y = 0; width = 450; height = 450; } RIGHT_MFCD = { x = 2130; y = 0; width = 450; height = 450; } when the game starts to load i have the A10 splash screen over two monitors (so looks just like my black shark loading ) then as the game starts with the press pause/break to start tab the A10 cockpit is spred across both screen, but no mfd's then when i start the flight all i get is water with the smoke for the target showing (dont know how to add image ) so what have i cocked up please Stu -
Thanks for that no it will not even be recognised as a file in fc 2 so is there a way of getting a list of the way points and then inputting them in to fc2 ?
-
Is it possible to convert an original lock on mission to a flaming cliffs mission - a chap called Ironhand made a mission called "The Crimean tour" as a show flight with loads of sights around the map I'd like to convert it to fc2 or A10c and fly it with the updated terrain graphics or a way of getting the waypoints so i could re do it (i have never created a mission myself so far)
-
I hope it will be in the full game. as i like in black shark just to go on joyride flights but start and stop at set air fields
-
ill be up for a couple of #3

i use the scroll lock button. one way to find out of a key us used is go into the key assignments in BS and just puss buttons if its used it will be hi-lighted i think i found 4-5 unused keys but cant rember what they are now

thanks its a start. want to fly online but want to fly first :) -
Im trying to fly with real flight settings and keep having the rotors mesh together! I have read that this will happen if excessive right turns are made but i seam to be flying straightish. hopefully one of the better pilots (everybody) can tell me. the rotor mesh2 file hash 2 crashes to it thanks Stu rotor mesh.trk rotor mesh2.trk

do a search for a mission called Basic flight its just a set of way points and takes about an hour to fly not on home computer at the mo to be able to add the mission or time to find it
-
had a search and couldn't find or missed it I have a two screen display and have a couple of questions about where the subtitles are shown also the radio menu display my screen set up is left showing cockpit and right showing the abris over the left half and the Skaval in the bottom right hand quater I am just getting the hang of flying this beast not attempted any missions yet but for a change of scenery went in to one of the missions and noticed when the Russian is speaking and i get the subtitles spaning both screens can i edit a .lua to move this to show just across the left screen ? likewise with the tower communication menu can i edit this to be shown at the top left of the left hand screen. at the moment the menu is above the skaval display which is good but i wish to swap the position of the abris and skaval. but when the menu is shown over the abris it is virtualy imposible to see

idiots guide to the auto pilot please
Ed Hunter replied to Ed Hunter's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
ok im still getting somthing wrong with the altitude hold is it ment to hold altitude in flight ? this is what im am doing using the mission basic flight to practice with 1 i start up 2 hover at about 30-40 meters 3 switch altitude hold on and other auto pilot modes off 4 flick switch to radar not barometer for auto 5 start forward flight on folowing the ground on a slope proceed to hit the ground as the alt hold dose not appear to activate have i missed something out or done actions in wrong order Cheers Stu -
Any of yo know where i can find a dummy's instruction to all the functions of the auto pilot and the fd ect so if i want to fly for example just useing the altitude hold on radar how to do it and all the rest ?? the manual dosent say that well and dose anyone know if the printed manual goes in to more detail on how to use things rather than just what they are ? Stu

similar state to you been mucking about with the easy flight mode just because i wanted to fly but with work didnt have the time to study now i have more time its all help off but can you post the link you two were on about How to fly and blow stuff up or is the the developers files ? cheers
-
thanks for the explanations the throttle looks simple enough out on auto and leave alone. (bought myself a ch throttle quadrant and was going to assign throttles to a axis ) have to start to find out the auto pilot switches and key controls. had the game a while but always used easy flight now i have moor time want to fly the thing properly and later when i can avoid hitting the ground start with the weapons then maybe join a flight on line Stu

trying to work out the difference between the collective and the throttle control reading the manual in one part it says to use the collective to increase/decrease altitude. but in another it says the altitude is changed by adjusting engine power. so what is what? page 6-17 and on a side note the auto pilot for altitude when set will is it supposed to keep me x meters above ground so it i fly up a hill i will stay 30 mts off the ground or is it set to xx metres above sea level ?
-
is there any way to have it start in precision mode? if not will have to try to find a unused key in BS to reassign to it
-
right so on a similar vein what's the difference of having the two engine throttles assigned and the collective ? is each engine assigned to a different rotor at the moment i dont use the throttles but the collective takes me up and down i have the settings at the on game flight mode but simulation for avionics and every thing else
-
on the auto scan will it then automatically lock on to a target ? if not what is it auto tracking for
-
thanks gents

what is the difference between lock target (enter) and set target (o) also can you slow down the speed of the Shkval slew? ta Stu
