  1. This is where it all started...
  2. thanks. I got a reply from WSP US that they'll only sell platform and tube together, so I guess my option is $42 unless I want to make my own. The left platform already seems purpose built on mine; warthog throttle has 2 holes to screw into. I have to option of spinning the platform 180degrees to bring the warthog a little narrower or wider from center.
  3. Reviving an old thread here but if there's a better wheelstand pro master thread I'll post there instead, just let me know. Just received my wheeltand pro (3 arms) and mounted my TM Warthog. Stick is in the middle but very awkward with huge baseplate in my lap, emailed WSP asking to buy just the mounting plate instead of plate and tube for $42 USD. What extensions are y'all using for center stick and warthog base and stick? And what is the "throttle" upgrade? My WH throttle mounts just mine on the left.

Can DCS pilots confirm it's still not an option?
  5. This thing is way harder to fly than that FC3 Su-27 :0
  6. Thanks for all the replies. I bought from HeatBlur's website and almost instantly received a redeem code that worked in DCS module manager. The final nail in the coffin was when I stumbled upon a HeatBlur post about a SAAB Draken AI they made a while back. <3 SAAB so I'm imagining my purchase will be a tiny drop in the bucket of a future Gripen module development :) Here's my first flight: barely got off the ground, went full afterburner, inverted, pulled 9+ g's and passed out, regained consciousness without crashing into trees. RIO must have passed out as well otherwise I would've expected him to eject. I don't think the F14B has any sort of auto-GCAS so this must have been luck. It's been a challenge translating Chuck's controls onto my X52 PRO but I'll figure it out in time.
  7. I'm here because I saw "CAGE" button on Chuck's F14B guide and had no clue what it was. Now I have a clue but will probably never use it!
  8. 2. I could buy from HeatBlur's website or I could buy from ED shop: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/tomcat/ Just like I bought FC3 from ED to reduce any cash they'd lose to steam, I'd like to buy from HeatBlur's site to reduce any cash loss to ED. Wondering if there's a reason not to.
  9. After 6 months of casual FC3 I'm thinking about fulfilling why I really came to DCS: learning to fly the F14B but $80 feels steep especially when others are on sale. 1) Should I wait for next sale where it might be 25% $(20) off? 2) Should I buy from HeatBlur's store? Thanks,
  10. Thank you, I think that's it :)
  11. Hey all, sorry if this is in the wrong subforum. Is there an audio filter that makes voices of either AI or RL comms sound more "real", more like they're being spoken over a plane's radio rather than through a computer mic to your speakers? I thought I heard this on a popular DCS YT's channel. I am aware of voice attack and vaicom's DCS plugin and I haven't started using them yet but I think those aren't what I'm talking about.
  12. Hey everyone, hoping for some quick advice. I'm doing this instant action mission but having a really hard time turning my su-27. I can post a trk file if needed but I'm hoping for some 'no-duh' advice. It seems like anytime I try to pull the stick my speed drops quickly until I eventually get a 'minimum speed' warning; almost as if there's some autopilot or g-limiter on. Very frustrating! Brake, gear, and flaps aren't deployed, autopilot is off. I frequently use ALT+3 for autopilot when checking radar or comms and then pretty A (autopilot key) to deactivate before resuming maneuvers. Is this bad practice? I haven't had issues with this habit in other training missions but I have no idea what else could be going on.
  13. Thanks all. I'm current leaning towards 3600 vs 2700, 450mobo over 570 mobo, and 32gb ram over 16gb ram. For 32gb ram should I go 4x8 or 2x16?
  14. Given my build and my monitor what MOBO, RAM, and 3600 vs 2700?
  15. Would you consider 3600 as 4+ Ghz since it has boost? I'm trying to decide on a MOBO, CPU, and RAM for my existing build.
  16. Then it looks like I'm settling for the best I can do with a Vega 56.
  17. Hi :) I started playing DCS a few months ago. In addition to the 2 freebie modules I bought FC3 during the last sale and I'm looking forward to more DCS in the coming years. Maybe the F14B if I can get a buddy into DCS too :) Half of my PC is leftover from 10 years ago; i7 920 cpu, $200 EVGA mobo from that era, 12?gb ram from that era. I was considering $300-600 budget (~$100-200/component) for an upgrade. I recently discovered Windows 10's game screen capturing feature and had a ton of fun recording and editing my first DCS video using the Windows XBOX-labeled recording feature and DaVinci Resolve freebie video editing. I brought this up since my research so far shows 2700 vs. 3600 depending on pure gaming vs. multi-tasking for recording/streaming at the same time but not sure how much weight to put on each priority. My goal is to max out DCS on my main montior Dell 27" 1440p 144/155hz and record as well but probably not live stream. Maybe VR in the future too but seems expensive (new steam headset is $1000 :0 ). Current gear: X52 Pro HOTAS Track IR5 GPU: Vega 56 Liquid Cooled PSU: Months old EVGA 850W GQ Tower: CM690 with lots of large fans 256gb SSD for OS and program files 1tb HDD for docs Monitors: 1x Dell 27" 1440, 144/155hz main 2x Dell 24" 1920x1200, 60hz side monitors: I turn these off during any intense gaming but have 1 or 2 on in addition to main during light gaming or work. CPU idea is: 2700 or 3600  MOBO idea is: GIGABYTE X570 AORUS ELITE AMD Ryzen 3000 PCIe 4.0 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.2 AMD X570 ATX Motherboard RAM idea is: G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (For AMD Ryzen) Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin RGB DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC
  18. This just worked for me. Only single light but works as normal.
  19. Hi everyone, thank you for the replies. I've purchased FC3 so I'll start on training and missions in there :) I was planning on buying 1 helo and 1 jet also but it seems the 4/28 sale cutoff was somewhere ahead of USA times; I'll ask ED if they'll give me the sale price anyway. 3) fbw? 4) that was my assumption but do we know that for sure? Either way I uninstalled from steam and installed stand-alone and purchased FC3. 5) program the hotas in SSD? i've installed the game on my SSD, and probably the hotas s/w on the SSD too. 6) thanks! Thank you :) Thank you, bought FC3 on sale :) That clears things up for me. Got it. Bought FC3 on sale for now. Thanks! I may have missed the sale window but if not then, in addition to FC3, I will buy a helo (probably the little bird or huey) and a jet (either A10 or the SAAB). What headsets are you keeping an eye out for? I just bought a liquid cooled Vega 64 GPU that will be bottlenecked by the rest of my PC build so I may or may not be able to pull off a good VR anyway.
  20. Hi all, a few weeks ago I played Ace Combat 7, rewatched Top Gun, and then stumbled upon the heatblur f14 release video on youtube without knowing DCS existed. I've since watched a lot of growling sidewinder's youtube videos and jumped in pretty deep by acquiring trackIR 5, x52 pro HOTAS, and now wondering what module I should buy since there's a sale. I've stumbled through the free p-51 and su-25t training missions and I've got a few questions despite trying to search through the forum: 1) Is the p-51 a clicky pit but the su-25t isn't? 2) How does buying a DCS module, for example the a-10 that i'm considering buying, fit into the DCS world? Is it a separate executable? Or is it simply unlocking the a-10 in DCS world? Could I fly the a-10 in any online server that allows it or only in some a-10 missions that come with the purchase? 3) What modules should I buy on sale? 4) Why should I buy from ED directly instead of through steam? Steam is convenient and sale prices seem to be on there too. 5) Is there a newbie-friendly resource on how to map HOTAS according to these guides? I understand that 3 modes means 3x the map-able buttons but wouldn't I still have to map them in-game? How does the game know I've switched modes on my HOTAS? 6) What else should I know? Please let me know if there's a better place to post of find these answers. Thank you for your time.
