Is it possible to have voice comms over the 199 datalink channel between connected JF-17s? The 199 translates to preset channel 422.750 MHz so could it be used with SRS for example?

Outstanding work sir! I have learned many small tips from your videos that have fleshed out my current knowledge of the JF-17 from flight experience and the great guide created by Chuck. Please keep up the great work it is much appreciated!

I have been working a lot on using the AG radar and have solved my issue with locating targets thanks to help here on the forum. My question is what are the best AG weapons to pair with the radar? I understand the rockets need the a laser to track but can any of the other AG missiles, i.e. GB-6, be used after a target is acquired?

I am trying to determine the most effective mode for using the LD-10 against know SAM sites. To this point I have been using them in SP mode and waiting until I receive a 'MISSILE LAUNCH' warning then firing them and going defensive. Is the ACT mode better than this approach? I have not had much luck using ACT mode so I am sure I am doing something noobish and not deploying the missile properly.

Ramsay, thank you for the screenshot, it confirmed for me that I am now distinguishing between the elevation carat and the radar azimuth. I was not seeing the carat initially so I was confused about the output I was receiving, thanks again sir!

Roger that checking the guide now, thanks again for all the help! I added a SPI near the ships and was able to target and attack them successfully.

Thanks guys for your responses, I guess what I do not understand is the radar elevation being at 60, isn't that what it is in your video? If not please point out where the elevation is, that is obviously what I do not understand.

Thanks for the suggestions I will try them, take a look at this screenshot from rudelchw's training video, my radar does not look like this. In this video the radar is scanning from side to side across the display and picking up land and sea, as I have said my radar is not moving like this at all. I will upload a video or trk file so you can see what I am seeing.

Thanks for the fast response! My issue is that the radar is not scanning, if you look at the attached screenshot you can see the very small cone at the bottom of the pic. That is all I see, the radar does not scan the entire field of the display as it should. It does not move at all, what am I not doing correctly?

I am unable to get the radar to work when using the 802K missile in AG mode. It does not scan anything and is just blank with a very small cone at the bottom of the screen. The radar does not scan the entire area as I have seen in the manual and in training videos. I am sure it is something I am leaving out but cannot figure out what it is, any assistance is appreciated. Also I noticed a dashed line behind my aircraft that starts at Kobuleti airfield where I took off from, sure that is part of my problem also, again just not sure what it means.

How will the AAR probe operate on the JF-17? Will the probe extend as is the case on other modern jets or will it be attached as an add on as some posts have suggested?

Greetings I am trying to host a multiplayer server on my personal machine but when I go to the ED site to manage it, I see the server but there is no run time and when I open the GUI there are no missions available and I cannot add any. I click on the plus sign and it does not open file explorer on my machine. I know the IP is not getting picked up but I do not know how to get the IP to map to the web GUI. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Uboats, thank you for replying, please tell me what you are saying with the red arrow, I get how to go around the circle but at what speed and altitude do I enter the pattern and at what bank angle, that is the part I am having trouble with. I am new to DCS and do not understand the symbology by itself.

Thank you for your effort but I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to tell me. I am new to DCS and what you have written is too complicated, thanks again for trying.

Can anyone advise on the proper method to fly the new FAF symbology for landing? I have been experimenting with approach speed/altitude and the degree of bank/g to properly fly the circle and end on the proper glide slope. I have done it 3 times but cannot reproduce my success consistently.

The VAICOM plugin is crap as far as I am concerned, it doesn't work with the J-11A or the JF-17 as it breaks in-game comms for both aircraft. When I approached the devs about the issue( VA, VAICOM and ED) they all pointed fingers at each other. I now use Voice Attack alone with profiles I created for each aircraft I fly and it works great, have had no issues with the latest OB versions and patches.

I got it: Enter DGFT mode Setup RADAR on desired MFCD (*Left for me) Enter INTC mode Make that MFCD the SOI You can now enter HA mode from DGFT mode and back to INTC mode, it confused me when you were using ACM because that is the same as DGFT mode, a small misunderstanding but you still put me on track, salute!

Good day, I have been working with using the HA submode of DGFT mode and can only enter this mode of the RADAR is in the center MFCD. This mode is not available if the radar is on the Left or Right MFCD, is this normal behavior for this submode? I have attached the game track and the DCS log file, any information is appreciated. Please include the path on where to place this lua file, I am new and do not know where to put this.
