  1. It’s interesting you say this. preset k looks better than standard but I’ve been struggling maintaining fps - with my og crystal, quadviews and a 4090. I’ve changed to the latest nvidia driver this morning and initial tests seem a bit better. anyone else seen Peformance loss?
  2. Great work on this and thanks for the efforts. For info I tried this in the crystal and it really has a strange effect on the clouds for shimmering and how they are drawn (they look worse). Not sure why but wanted to share for Ed to consider before changing. It was at 40km draw distance.
  3. Thanks - how do I make sure open composite isn’t interfering? there’s the open composite switcher but do I just not bother with that as I’m repairing the openvr.dll back to standard?
  4. The update has fixed mine now!
  5. Hi all, I have a pimax 8kx that was working perfectly before the update. Was running pimax xr, open composite and xr toolkit. since updating it will not load past the firs menu bar. Just locks. I’ve update pi tool. Update open composite. Updated open xr. Tried running without open composite of open xr no luck. Reinstalled pimax xr. No luck. I’ve full repaired dcs and no luck. Just exactly the same issue time after time. where should I go next as it’s really disappointing I cannot even get into the game
  6. Hi, I`ve got an issue in the update has broken my DCS to the point i cannot even boot into the menu. It hangs on startup. I`m running an 8kx and was perfect 5 mins before I updated. Previously I`m running open composite, open xr and pimax xr. The only thing I ran in openxr toolkit was the ffr wide setting. I`ve tried different versions of pimax xr, disabling open xr, booting in open xr safe mode, deleting the open composite file, reinstalling it etc. but it will not get past that point. I cannot boot in open xr safe mode as it just hangs also. Also others having the same Any pointers?
  7. This works well for me just with a 3090. darkman - would you share your dcs graphics settings please - I.e - screen shot of textures, grass, lod sliders etc?
  8. So I’m using darkmans 60hz setting and works great but I have to run my resolution at 50% in steam vr. what resolutions are you guys using 60hz in multiplayer using? also anyone trying to use ffr getting dcs crash on the loading screen with the aircraft before getting to the menu?
  9. Anyone manage to get a good solution to this? Im getting the same on my 8kx also
  10. I’d love to get this reacting in the same speed as the elevator trim. I have a rotary controller that turns instantly when calibrating in usb devices but it’s really slow when reacting in dcs with the spit. @NineLineanything you’d recommend to increase the reaction for it?
  11. Sounds good per the added flexibility mentioned in the posts above
  12. Hi all - after some help with my button/ switch board I’ve made for my rig. It uses a pro micro board programmed through arduino ide per the video below. https://youtu.be/Z7Sc4MJ8RPM I’ve wired it up as per the video, however when I come to use in dcs I’m getting random buttons / switches turning on and off. Now in the comments to the vid it does mention something wired up in this matrix style can turn on and off if a switch is left on but when I turn the switches to activate a function I also toggle them to off after so there isn’t a conflict. Interestingly if I map it initially in dcs it seems fine but after rebooting I get the phantom buttons turning on and off. In usb game controllers, when the ghost switching is happening, there are no lights showing as being pressed. Are my options here either re-wiring or adding diodes to parts of the board per the comments in the video or does anyone have any other thoughts? Thanks for any help in advance
  13. Hi all, I’m currently running a hp reverb that I’ve just transferred over from after having a rift s for a few years. I had issues with the cable error to which hp sent me a new hmd however it’s still persisted so they are sending me a new cable now. I’ve stopped it as best I can with tape/tie wrap on the connector however after I’m playing for approximately 15 mins I’m loosing both srs and dcs sound. The “bings” still happen however when I click something in vr with my controller. The windows sounds also work in the headset so seems to be related to dcs/srs. Vision and physical gameplay is fine Has anyone else experienced this or have an ideas what to try. I’m not sure whether it’s cable related directly apart from could it be an intermittent connection in the cable and I’m running the “disable hot plug” mod so it’s stopping the audio reconnecting? Any help is appreciated, Thanks Ollie
  14. I’d love them to add the 150 octane / increased boost variant At least it’s then bring it in period with the 109
  15. Hi all, I’m currently flying a spitfire in mainly burning skies (or trying to when I’m not getting bounced) however what I’ll mention below could apply to other planes too. One thing I’d love to have is a program that records the screen when the gun button is pressed say for 15 seconds after (In case I’m firing in bursts) It’d save a load of sifting through huge video files and give some quick analysis of how much I’m missing my targets Any ideas of anything that exists? Thanks Ollie
  16. Hi fellow Spit lovers, After a bit of help if I may. I’m now running an excellent spadegrip per the video below, with an extension and also the resistor mod on the sidewinder ffb. I ran a curve of 15 before but my trim was all out and was starting to annoy me as it’s bad enough already trying to catch the 109’s and 190’s without the spit being trimmed incorrectly (Any further tips catching them are welcome!) I’ve got rid of the curve but keep ripping my wings off Is it just a matter of getting used to it without the curve or has anyone got any other tips? Thanks Ollie
  17. Hi all I’ve got a strange issue that since the latest update, the online stats page is showing that I’ve had ground target hits and landings / takeoffs, but doesn’t unfortunately seem to be showing up the dogfights? I’ve checked and for the previous tours it does show up - any ideas as if i look in tacview (albeit before I updated) i do have a kill but it’s not showing up? Thanks Ollie
  18. It really is fantastic Something I didn’t mention is the parking brake latch is also modelled I’m just getting used to the throw and stopping blacking out, but certainly have more control compared to the standard stick Will keep updating as it develops!
  19. I will pm you shortly as I need a throttle and mixture control lever :)
  20. The next stage was to get the spadegrip that Jon at spitsim has developed. It has fully functioning buttons for guns, cannon and dual firing plus a level or the rear for the wheel brakes. It’s also got a mechanical safety switch as you can see in the video. Fabulous engineering Jon did a fantastic job of helping with the mounting on the ffb2 base. The video below shows this excellent bit of kit. The tub is optimised to mirror the throw of the spit colours albeit without the mod pivot. It’s made out of titanium tube to keep it lighter I then also added a switch in place of the optical sensor to activate the ffb and also did the smd resistors mod which was a very delicate operation but I measured the before and after resistance and it worked very well. The pictures below show this Had my first flight last night and the experience is absolutely fantastic! Will feedback more as I get in the air again tonight I’m burning skies (I’m Ollie in there) Any questions please let me know ????
  21. Hi all, Thought I’d share my progress to date on my vr cockpit build I’m using my Saitek throttle quadrant at the minute but will be modifying it to make it more spitfire like to the touch It’s worth considering that I’m building this for feel more than looks as i use an oculus rift s First of all, I purchased the plans for a replica mkix seat. I made some templates out of some old floor boards by measuring and drawing out from the 2d dimensions I had Jon at Spitsim was kind enough also to include the plans to position my stick and spade grip at 12 degrees when trimmed in level flight. This is the area you can see in front of the seat where the base of the ffb2 will sit The seat was then jigsawed out from 18mm plywood and I used screws and wood glue to assemble. Jon again helped with the correct distance from the floor and I modified an old chair to achieve this It still needs painting and I’ll be making a cushion to help simulate the parachute that the pilots used to sit on
  22. Anyone seen an update on this?
