  1. Its a releave someone get it already so close to the real thing, it makes the sim 10 times better. Nice agressive sound Diveplane, seems that the original sound it to low, like the Gun is fireing to slow. I listend over and over again, impressed especially with the echo bouncing 5-6 sec after the pas. You have to turn your volume up to notice but its there. Keep up the good work!
  2. I changed the settings you posted Yoda, very nice and playeble now. I also noticed, with the unconfiguered file's, the in cockpit view was stuttering. If i looked sideway trough the cockpit window the terrain was also stuttering. I always use Vsync wich must be forced trough the NVCP. When i was changeing the parameters i noticed the min fps was at 0. Changeing it to 60 solved the stuttering.
  3. Can someone give us a link how the upgrade path works in terms of installation, do i only need lockon CD, Flaming Cliffs 1.1 ( no activation required) and then FC 2.0? I always get confused with download and boxed versions.
  4. The i5 and i7 8xx have a Hypertransport bus of 2500 MT/S ( megatransfer per second) i7 9XX have HT bus of 4800 MT/S. The Bloomfield CPU's are the fastest and more expasive ofcourse. Lynfield, i7 8xx and i5 7XX have 4X256kb L2 or 2X256kb L2 Cache. Also the i7 8XX and 9XX have 8MB L3 cache while i5 has only 4 mb L3 cache. Most info is meaningless, so ist good to read some reviews and compare the CPU's, plenty out there:thumbup:
  5. The SU-25 video's showing clearly the 6-DOF TIR feature, however the A-10 video didn't. Do all the Lockon 2.0 get 6-DOF cockpit? Or does this feature only appear in the SU-25 and 25T?
  6. They should show at least a short video from the SU-25 Cockpit demonstrating the 6-DOF feature (TIR 4 and 5). Please ED give us a candy so we can chew for awhile.:)
  7. Was reading the previous posts in this thread, and i noticed that the 600W PSU was metioned as a possible cause. Poko24 has tested his rig with one card and one stick of ram and has no overclocks applyed to his rig, PSU is good. If the PSU was the problem he would get overheating in there and a thermal shutdown performed by that same PSU. @Poko24: You are playing at pretty high resolution so that could cause your cards getting hot, try playing the games wich normally crash at slightly lower resolution to see if that lowers the temp. You also sayed that you never changed anything in the BIOS, you might check if all power saving options like speedstep and other VANDERPOOL options are disabled, if not disable them. And again for the time being, keep one card in and one Ram module running at the settings i mentioned earlyer and take it from there. Keep in mind that many people that have instabillity problems, getting more problems becouse they change all kind of settings, damaging PCI and ram slots by swapping card and modules in and out. And in the end they didn't know what they changed:) Here's a pic of the power saving BIOS menu. http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/6126/15030100975l.jpg Disable everything exept multicore processing . Its neccesary to do so, otherwise you system is throttleing randomly. Its most likely that it isn't solving your problem but it give's alot more punch, it will prevent that your CPU will clock down to a much lower speed. Power supply - active Power Factor Correction (PFC) - internal. Means you PSU can output 600w maximum but it does only when hardware starts to draw that power, for instance: In windows on desktop the PSU will output someting like 300watts, but when you start a application like a game the GFX card starts to draw power from the PSU, raising the load on the PSU and the limit in your case is 600W. All modern PSU have a PFC to decrease the bill you recieve from the electric Company.
  8. @Kuky: All you mentioned Poko has allready tryed with no succes, read the threat. He also mentioned his Ram modules are rated 2.2V-2.4V. Increasing the nothbridge Volts is unneccesary becouse he has the same problems with a single card installed, doing this might get him into more trouble he allready is. He has 2X2GB as he mentioned earlyer not 4X1GB and he tryed one stick already. Reduceing the memory speed to 800mhz he might get more stabillty, running manufacturers recommended settings and setting them manually, at 2.2 or 2.3V wich is the recommended by the vendor. Edit:Why do you think his FSB is 533 at default? A E8500 is a 1333FSB CPU with a multi of 9.5 so 1333:4= 333X9.5=3.16 GHZ. So all he has to try is unlink FSB/RAM ratio and leave the FSB at 333.00 and set the RAM to 800MHZ. I suggest Poko24 you go here http://forums.guru3d.com/ and explain you issue again, there are people there that had a pc when you and i not even were born.
  9. @Poko24, Can you post a pic of your rig? We can get a better view of what we're dealing with. I'am not sure what causes your problem but it might be a combination of a bit overheating and drivers. What utillity do you use for monitoring the temps? Also consider for the time the problem keeps occuring to leave only on card in, and one stick of ram. To make absolutely sure that its not RAM related you might run that one stick on 800mhz and 2.2V -2.4V and piont a big fan towards the GFX card with the side panel removed. It sounds radical, but it wouldbe dissapointing if you throw in a new Nvidia Card and then noticeing the problem is still there!
  10. Not really becouse i had some bad expirience with them in the past, they must comeup with some proper engine before i buy them products again. I stated that BS is running alot better now, unfotunately some intresting stuf is going on in the Sim World so ED might consider to hurry a bit becouse if they plan a release with the same difference between LOMAC and BS within 3-4 years i am pretty certain by that time someting is released that blows our mind away. BS didn't. And some people now what i mean by something else. I am a member over there:) BTW i dont think many people post in different forums under the same name. I do becouse its fair and objective, its like driving trough a red sign with stolen licence plate's if you dont. I'am also proude btw to drive my 4.5L V8 Infiniti FX
  11. I reinstalled BS after getting a new serial from ED ( thanks for that BTW). I decided to install it in a seperate folder where normally Pictures and My documents are, created a Folder there and named it Games and installed. After install was finished i removed the lua-direct_output.dll, mentioned in other Thread causing problems with X52 and X52pro, from the bin\stable folder and started the game, previous i had huge Lag and stutter, but for some reason all stutter and lag is gone, its like playing a different game:D Also had Launcher.exe problems with previous install, it didn't showed up yet! Oh i did some ram timing adjustment btw, i let the BIOS decide the timing, exept for 2T. I dont know what caused it to let the game run so perfect but all i can remember is listed above, i didn't change drivers. It migh be a stange post but people with lag and stutter might look at some of the change's i made and maybe get rid of it also. Happy!!:pilotfly:
  12. I had serious problems lately with my OS and had to format several times, i followed the activation/deactivation guide lines:book: but i cant activate or deactivate DCS: Black Shark anymore. So i contacted ED and explained in short what was going on, they got back to me with an E-mail after a few days that i could find my new serial in the E-shop on the DCS website but the serialnumber listed in the E-shop is still the old one that doesn't work anymore. I send an e-mail allready but they didn't reply jet. Hopefully techsupport can :helpsmilie:me. Edit : Ola!! its there now, activated strait away!!!
  13. Thats very good news, hopefully it's solved. Edit: You might check you BIOS version becouse there was an issue with the ICH9R RAID, wich is solved in the F7 release. If you have F5 wich is the release version you might Flash it to F7, you are running RAID. But first test ofcourse.
  14. Only about 25% of PC-8500 sticks I checked were at 2.2V, most were at 2 and 2.1. Of course the recommendations can be erroneous but if you are saying that DDR2 at 1066MHz per definition requires 2.2v then I am really sceptical. My 6400 sticks run nicely at 1092MHz with "only" 2v of juice. It is entirely dependant on the sticks themselves what they need. I agree, Unfortunately many mobo's undervolts the ram, in other words when you set 2.1V in Bios its in windows 2.0 or even less! Keep in mind Poko has high speed ram modules that are volt hungry. I mean i dont recommend something abnormal or stupid so lets try to help him instead of confuseing him, altough i see you point. By testing the modules each seperate you can trace down a faulty stick, if the situation doesn't change he knows that its not the ram but something else. Also 2x2GB increases the load on the sytem bus. thats why i recommended to test with 1X2GB. Memory modules are easy to test, easyer than replacing a CPU or complete mobo. Post back with you finding Poko and we try to sort it out together with you! I sugest you remove one card while testing and put it back in when its solved. The problem doesn't look very serious its something small i think, do you face any problems when not playing games?
  15. I can tell you that DDR2 ram on 1066mhz needs at least 2.2V. You should test each module seperately and go beyond 2.2V. Also set the timings and speed (1066mhz) manualy, even when they show the recommended setting in BIOS. Running Orthos seems a bit radical btw but you can try and see if you trace the problem. I see you dont have any overclocks applyed to your system so hours of testing with stress tools is not neccesary. Keep CF disabled while testing with one stick of ram and report back, we must find the problem
  16. This is the original e-mail i send, becouse i dont know the exact problem what caused it i have little to explain. I dont want to suckup theyr time so i tought i keep it short. Hello team DCS, I recently had major problems reinstalling and activating/deactivating my DCS Black shark module and apperently lost all activations. I tried to deactivate but nothing seems to work any more. I have the Englisch download version with serialnr: ................... Any help or eventually new serial is welkom becouse i cant play the game anymore! Best regards .........
  17. Keep CF disabled and remove 2GB of ram and test agian, its definatly not your GFX cards becouse you have no screen corruption, and CF or non CF doesn't change anything. It might be you ram so try 2gb AND SET the ram to 2.2V
  18. You mean make the game free to pirate just as the disks hit the shelves ? __________________ Cheers. No acually i payed for it already and having major problems with my system and OS, so i had to install BS several times. I followed the deactivation proces and guide lines wich worked. After a few deact and activations the SF window tells me my productkey has expired and i have to buy a new one or contact product developer and expain the problem, so i did but no reply! I also tryed to activate online but no joy. BTW many games have serial revoke utillity's.
  19. The clouds flickering is multi GPU related only, so CF and SLI will give you flickering clouds. There are some drivers that give you clouds flicker all the time but some drivers show you the problem random. I think it has something to do with the rendering mode. Some drivers pick a rendering mode when you start a 3D application and this picking can alter. You will see no benefit from enabeling CF so the solution is running one GPU in BS. Hit Ctrl/Backspace to display the FPS counter in the left upper corner while in game and see for you self. You can delete the Temp folder content manually, dont delete the folder only content ofcourse
  20. Disable CF and install the latest DirectX end user runtime.
  21. I vote for a Activation key revoke utillity for the download version, released or build in this new patch maybe? So we can keep the piece of software we payed for and use it the rest of our live without thinking how much activations are left. Its very handy becouse when you run out by accident Tech support doesn't reply to your E-mail with the request for a solution!
  22. BS doesn't support multi GPU, it also doesn't support dual or QuadCore CPU . We are in the year 2009:music_whistling: And becouse its a not so long ago released game there are several bugs in it that ED is going to solve. Hopefully they sort it out soon becouse i know alot people that already refuse to play this sim any longer and throwed it of theyr machine! Sorry for being off Topic abit
  23. Yep same here, i also turned of the dust effects that showup when hovering close to the ground. The water can also be set to low wich gives an FPS boost also and still having some candy. Now i can play this sim flawless, minimum frame rate of 50 even over big city's, except the water low and dust turned of the rest ist maxed out. Cheers
  24. Thanks S77th-RYKE, so know it has not something to do with my configuration and thats what i wanted to know before making change's to any settings @EtherealN ,my monitor has a refresch rate of 60 and there for it wil when vsync is on not go beyond 60FPS, at 50-60 fps i see a fluid motion everything below that is crap for any game. But in the end i wasn't aiming on a certian amount of frames, i was only wondering why the TV is eating instantly so many frames wich seems to me that a few would be normal becous anoyher 3D cam must render, but not 20%!!!! Therefore i think the TV is rendering behind the dashboard also. I noticed that my CPU is the limited factor for BS so i turned on supersample with 16XAA, 16XAF and Vsync, at least the picture quality is very good:). psychosomatic ? Here's link wich explains whats playble and whats less playble: http://www.guru3d.com/article/hawx-pc-vga-graphics-card-performance-review/5 look at the bottom page.
  25. I was wondering why the frame drop so dramaticly when approaching a combat area, first i tought it was the vehircles and explosions smoke etc. Recently i was doing a startup and takeoff from a heli pad and switched on the SHKVAL TV, my eyes popped out almost when i noticed the frames dropped from 60 to 48. Can someone confirm this please becouse a bit frame decrease is normal but this is 10- to 15-. The cockpit resolution is at 512 but i get the same decrease when rendering 256! The only possibility that course such frame drop is when the SHKVAL TV image is rendering behind the dash, if so ED should consider if its fixeble in a patch so we gain a few FP to make it for some people more playble. I mean 40 FPS is the minimum for me in a game. When i fly over city's with the SHKVAL TV on, frames are low 30ish.
