  1. This certainly fixed a mystery problem for me. My cyclic seemed to occasionally have a mind of its own. All sorted now!
  2. I can hardly wait for the patch. If the AP fix works as I think it will we should hear a lot fewer complaints and confusion over using trim. Of course the people that insist the AP works correctly now may complain about having to relearn trimming the KA50.
  3. I sure hope the soon to be released patch does not ruin all the fine user built missions that have been made for BS.
  4. Don't know how I missed this poll earlier, but anyway my rig runs BS no sweat and I get about 40-60 FPS. Intel Q6600 @ 3.1 GHz 4 GB Corsair Dominator 8800GTX Vista Ultimate 32 GA-P35-DQ6 (etc.)
  5. In the Saitek profile editor scroll down to the throttle setup area. Hold the mouse pointer over the throttle setup box and you will notice a small right arrow in the upper right of the throttle box. If you left click on that arrow a list will drop down. By default, there will be a check mark on 'Fallback' or 'Unprogrammed' ( don't remember which ). You will want to change that to 'directional axis' by clicking on that selection. New command boxes will now appear in the throttle area for 'Throttle +' and 'Throttle -'. Now you can enter the key command (F in this case) in each of new command boxes. You will need to adjust the throttle sensitivity more or less depending on how noisy youre throttle quadrant is.
  6. This is very easy to do in the profile editor for my Saitek X-52 Pro and works very well.
  7. I see no difference in visual mods for BS and all the aftermarket visual enhancements for Microsoft Flight Simulator. If we had every thing we could possibly want in box at initial purchase BS might cost more like $149 instead of $49 and people would still want to mod it guaranteed.
  8. I think a lot of continued confusion remains because of the descrepancy between the way producer video notes #10 ( Understanding aircraft trim ) explains the use of trim in the BS with a non-ff stick and the way it is most often described on this forum. In the video, near the end, he says "by no means do you need to be holding down the trimmer button when you do any kind of maneuver", yet in this forum most advice says the correct way to trim is to hold the trim during maneuvers. As most of you know, unless you hold down the trimmer button while maneuvering, the KA-50 will fight you the whole way.
  9. I agree with PoleCat. Trackir is a solid product with scads of happy customers (me included) that are happy to put in a good word for a good product.
  10. I think it is because without FF the controls can out of sync and totally foobar. You can have the cyclic or rudder at full lock yet your joystick or pedals are perfectly centered. This can be very confusing for many people.
  11. This discussion seems so weird to me. Although I can see how some might get it confused, I always intuitively got it right from the first time I flew so many years ago. Right foot, right rudder, right turn. Left foot, left rudder, left turn. One way I might suggest to get accustomed to proper usage would be to load up Microsoft Flight Simulator and just taxi around an airport in a fixed wing of your choice.
  12. What I would like to know before I potentially foobar my setup by installing beta software, is there any real advantage to using ver 5 software with ver 4 hardware? My TrackIR works pretty flawless right now.
  13. X52 profiles are so quick, easy and fun to create I'll never understand why so many people ask others to do it for them. Besides what is intuitive for one person may look all wack to another. But, if you insist, here is mine. http://tinyurl.com/c4h43n
  14. That is a very good question. Also, will my old profiles and curves be directly transferable from the ver 4 software to ver 5?
