  1. A quote from the link provided by the OP: "3) Any hints on what aircraft you guys are planning to simulate next? A) The next DCS aircraft will be a fixed wing US fighter." I was hoping for the Apache, but a sim along the lines of the F18, F15E, or F16 would be a welcome addition.
  2. Pots=potentiometer or variable resistor. This video should give you an idea what needs to be done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZGEmbJ7JuI
  3. Well color me jealous but there's no way I would pay $100+ for a manual. Damn, it sure looks really nice though.
  4. What are you guys talking about? Is there a key to toggle 2d/3d or what? All I've seen is the 3D cockpit when you start BS. In the training videos, they seem to be able to slide the view directly in front of some of the panels like the Abris or Shkval, are there keys to do this?
  5. Yeah, I really miss that myself and it was even more fun during coop play :)
  6. Heya, I am posting this for people who might be having trouble with certain BS keyboard mapping(s) not working on their notebook computer. My system is an HP HDX Dragon with the 20.1" display. It is a full blown luggable Vista 64 Media Center complete with all the trimmings including an infrared remote control and therein lies the problem. The infrared receiver on the HDX uses the ITECIR driver which is common on a lot of notebooks these days. It has been known to cause problems in other games like Fallout 3 where the tilde key won't bring up the console. In DCS: BS the backslash key won't bring up the communication menu. There might be other key issues, but I am still learning BS and have really only scratched the surface. So, if you are experiencing these kinds of problem with DCS or or other games on your notebook, this might work for you as well: Open up Device Manger, expand the Human Interfaces section, and disable the ITECIR driver (if you can). On my system, disable is grayed out so I have to uninstall the ITECIR driver (without checking delete drivers) and let the system re-detect it on the next re-start or manual hardware scan. Yup, it's a pain the arse, but the HDX Dragon is a rocking notebook and I wouldn't trade it for even fastest i7 system--at least not yet. I hope this helps somebody.
  7. That's a weird problem. I have a Belkin N52, Saitek x45, and a Saitek Cyborg Command Unit all working on my system, and my mouse doesn't do that. But the game still doesn't respond to mouse button mappings so maybe that's the reason why.
  8. I not only want a printed English manual, I NEED a printed manual because I still can't fly this thing.
  9. Umm, tileproxy is on Sourceforge. I bet if enough of us BS fans plead with the developers and send them a pint now and then they might be willing to add support.
  10. Ditto, I am running Vista 64 on my gaming rig and am pretty happy with it. The latest build of Windows 7 is already leaps and bounds beyond Vista and XP in terms of performance. I haven't gamed with it yet, but it is quite snappy. If MS maintains focus and continues to listen to their customers the final product will be exceptional.
  11. Herguy, I was having problems flying the Black Shark just like you but I am getting better with practice. It is not easy! Between these forums and SimHQ, as well as the training videos found on digitalcombatsimulator.com (see the link below), things are slowly starting to click. BS is one heck of a flight simulator, the most complex I've ever seen, but there is a lot of satisfaction to be gained by mastering it. As with any daunting task, sometimes the best approach is to divide and conquer--learn each system one at a time and practice...practice...practice. Hang in there! 12. I am having trouble mapping mouse buttons to actions in the game (KA-50 Real). I want to map mouse button 3 (middle mouse button) on a Logitech MX-518 to toggle the clickable mouse cockpit mode on/off. It accepts the setting under the mouse column for the action, but it is not recognized in the game. To program this setting, I am clicking on the clickable mouse cockpit/mouse field, and using the add assignment panel to add mouse button 3. Am I doing something wrong here?
  13. Longbow 2 was an incredible game for its time and the co-op multiplayer really made it stand out. It's too bad that Jane's stopped developing the series, I heard that the DoD came down on them for too much realism. DCS: Black Shark is a lot more in-depth than LB2, I can barely keep it in a straight line let alone lock on to any targets. But I just bought it and from what I've read it's going to take some serious practice.
