  3. The Black Aces of VFA-41 have completed their deployment in support of Operation Caspian Clash and returned to home port for some well-deserved R&R. Training work-ups for the next deployment are already underway. www.vfa-41.com
  4. The Black Aces of VFA-41 have completed their deployment in support of Operation Caspian Clash and returned to home port for some well-earned R&R. www.vfa-41.com
  5. The Black Aces of VFA-41 were tasked with providing close air support for a convoy carrying a delegation of government representatives to peace talks in eastern Georgia. Suffice it to say that all did not go as planned. The mission was part of the squadron's continued support of NATO's 'Operation Caspian Clash.' Catch up on the action HERE.
  6. Although still embroiled in Operation Caspian Clash, the Black Aces of VFA-41 reached the end of the line period on the Greenie Board and have crowned a new King! Witness the coronation and follow the action here: VFA-41 Black Aces
  7. Having recently departed the Persian Gulf region, The Black Aces of VFA-41 are with the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier battle group which has been directed to station in the Black Sea off the coast of Georgia at the request of NATO to provide support for allies against aggression from neighboring states. Follow the action as it happens here: http://www.vfa-41.com
  8. Mine's the same, but I don't have the 2nd stage mapped to anything, so I never noticed.
  9. I use two MFDs for my Hornet 'pit, but they are not mapped to the actual DDI buttons. I just bound whatever functions I wanted to each button, like A/A and A/G master mode buttons, or open/close canopy, for example. I also created a PowerPoint template to print out card inserts to label the buttons. I've attached the file. Just overtype the button labels and print out on cardstock. Cougar Template 02.zip
  10. Late to the discussion, but similar experience with TM Hornet Grip. First one: trim hat defective. Stuck in 'left down' position when not touching it. Returned to Amazon retailer for replacement. Second one: thumb switch sticks in fwd position when not touching it. Returned to TM support. Still waiting.
  11. GAIN and SYM rockers now both work on AMPCD. Give those a shot.
  12. Disassembled mine and had the same nightmare. Cannot explain how I get it back together... fiddled with the spring for at least an hour with tweezers and jeweler's tools and just got lucky. Good luck.
  13. I'm not a real Hornet pilot, but this doesn't seem like proper behavior. Tested and repeatable: MASTER ARM must be ON for AIM-9X to uncage (no radar lock).
  14. TM MFDs each have two indicator LED lights on the top. I can turn them on and off in the TARGET software. How can I program them to turn on and off in response to DCS cockpit conditions? For example, in the Hornet, there is no indication that your fuel dump is open apart from the switch position. I would like: Dump open -> LED on Dump closed -> LED off Anybody got any detailed guidance on this beyond "Use TARGET" or "Write a LUA script?"
  15. What's going on with the Black Aces in the Persian Gulf these days, you might be wondering? A whole lot of this. http://www.vfa-41.com
  16. Current version? I have SimShaker for Aviators v1.3.11.0 installed. I got a pop-up today asking if I wanted to update. I said 'Skip,' but now can't find an update button, nor a place to check/download any new version. Current version and download link, please?
  17. Had to chuckle when the update utility said, "Deleting obsolete files." In other words, "Breaking things that were working before."
  18. Searched for related post but did not see any. Launch HARMs until they are all gone, but the HARM page stays active on the DDI, just blank. Used to automatically switch to Stores page or alternate A-G weapon, I think, which makes more sense. I wouldn't think that the HARM page should remain displayed when HARMs are all gone. When you switch to another page, you cannot get back to the HARM page if no HARMs aboard. This behavior seems correct.
  19. I got the Respawn 110 gaming chair. Don't. Here's what I learned. Gaming chairs typically have a back that leans back, but the sitting part (where your butt sits) does not tilt. While the chair LOOKS cool, it is very unnatural when you lean it back at all, and ultimately rather uncomfortable after a few minutes. An office chair tilts. The whole thing tilts, which is way more natural and comfortable. I had this one (Serta Big & Tall), only replaced it because it wore out and make-believe leather was disintegrating. Most comfortable chair ever, though, even for hours at a stretch.
  20. Subsequent to the squadron's recent transfer to the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), the Black Aces of VFA-41 conducted squadron-wide training exercises to familiarize pilots with the ship's launch and recovery procedures. Exercises were carried out in accordance with the squadron's newly promulgated Carrier Operations manual. LT Raid, the squadron's Training Officer, managed development of the manual and oversaw the training exercises, reporting that launch & recovery operations were accomplished smoothly and that the squadron is ready to continue with missions in support of Operation Tomb Fist. http://www.vfa-41.com
  21. Very few servers (aside from VFA-41) operating on this version right now. The 'stable' version is NOT the same as the most recent Open Beta version.
  22. Multi-player carrier ops is broken in the latest update. VFA-41 servers are rolled back to v2.5.6.45915 http://www.vfa-41.com
  23. Just gonna leave this here. (All footage taken from Black Aces squadron missions!) If there is an open slot on the Pilot Roster, we are recruiting. http://www.vfa-41.com
  24. US Navy carrier squadron VFA-41, the "Black Aces," remain fully engaged in a military operation dubbed "Tomb Fist" in the Persian Gulf region. Factions of the "Red" Iranian military had invaded Oman and the UAE, both US allies. US Navy air power has been flying missions, day and night, to drive back this aggression. Follow the progress of Operation Tomb Fist here: http://www.vfa-41.com
