  1. Sorry...;):) >>> Easy-peasy - no need for a dedicated application...
  2. Easy-peasy - no need for a dedicated application - it is already possible: there is an app for almost every tablet , android/apple , that let you hook it up as Virtual-monitor to your PC. Than simply expand the DCS Render to this Virtual-monitor, and place your Kneeboard in it. Than use a key-script app to define page-up/down to certain spaces of this tablet. Finished!
  3. have you still "central trim method" checked?... -whatever- Force trim is a one way mechanism, means: it doesn't translate forces of the swash-plate back to your hand, otherwise you wouldn't be able to hold the cyclic on a heavy craft. ( more detailed explanation from me: Damper and friction effects in force feedback for Black Shark) Engineers try to make it as easy as possible for the operator - and not hard. - yes the stick becomes loose (almost) in the real chopper - well, the mechanics of your Stick doesn't produce so much friction. Whatever - it needs some acclimatisation after years you have done it 'wrong' - you will get used to it . Fling 'Hands free' is easy-peasy for me , and yes, pressing while moving is quite normal - it really depends on you flightpath - in a hover/pin-point-landing I press it very often without holding... - while I make a 'funnel' I hold it constantly - there is no Right/Wrong - each flight state needs a different approach on the usage. - you have to get used to it. This helps maybe too : Collective Brake - aka Collective Trim ... and why you should use it.
  4. Thank you too for your feedback - so we can mark it as a a 'ID-10-T ERROR' . ;):D DCS is absolute top-notch when it comes down to hydraulics and linkage simulation. Have a look: Well , not in every aspect: So - This might be interesting for you: How to unchain the rudder from trim - solution
  5. Yes it is! - but sometime even I get tricked by it - and the 'grog-factor' doesn't plays the first role. :D It's a absulute normal "ID-10-T ERROR"
  6. ..maybe... But the real cause is much simpler: before I make a mod-package for upload I run a dcs-repair and use the files that I find in my latest backup to zip/rar the package. Than I copy only the new package on a 'repaired' DCS installation to check again that the mod works for a last test. Well this works very good as long you don't add new contend/files to DCS , because DCS only exchanges and backups files that it 'knows' - so: when I add a new font it will be not saved in the backup folder... - And I got fooled that it works when I tested because in DCS the needed font was still there - even after the repair. I only realised it on a second test run on my absulute never modded DCS backup installation that contents only the original files.... That's the cause why it wasn't included in my first 'hasty' upload. Cheers!
  7. Errata! Whoever downloaded this mod - do it again ! ( I count 6 ) sorry ! I forgot to add a Font in the first file - so it does work somehow - but it doesn't look as intended (the white outline is missing) - but it is fixed now. Please download again. BTW I'm open to colour changes (as long this mod isn't up the user-files-section of ED) like the way-point circles and/or path. - Just use it a little before you make suggestions out of the blue ;) . I use this colour combination (green/white/red) since almost 6 month's and I have no issues so far. But I have to admit that this can be problematic for some green/red blind users - . - Make yourself heard!

About the grog : Too Late! We started celebrating yesterday night and I 'gave up' at 6 in the morning... ...now that I'm nearly 40 I can't do the same that I did with 30 any more... - so this night will be much calmer and less grog ;):) - whatever - What is a birthday without a "thank-you gift" ... - like a candy bag ?! Grab it here before you leave my party ! >>>> KNEEBOARD Export for 'multimonitorsetup.lua' in all modules - DCS 1.2.4
  9. Small WIP status: Well, to be honest : not much . (But I made a lot of tests and also wrote a lot of code - and almost everything what I had/have in mind is possible - like a dynamical created chart that shows all relevant info of the current mission - so I have a solid basis to put everything together when the time comes) But: I'm too busy with other things and RL that I have almost no time to concentrate on a huge mod like this - well I'm also a little disappointed how little feedback I got on the questions I posted ... -never mind - I hope this 'offspring' of the work for this mod is sufficient for most of you while I dig deeper in the files: >>>> KNEEBOARD Export for 'multimonitorsetup.lua' in all modules - DCS 1.2.4
  10. KNEEBOARD_Tablet_Mod_PP_1.02_for DCSWORLD_1.2.5 READ_ME First.txt: I changed the colour pattern again ;): ACHTUNG! : The UH-1H , P-51D and FC3 uses the Knee-board without problem.... But The A-10C and Ka-50 module knows nothing about a Kneeboard in DCS 1.2.4 by default! So we have to 'teach' this module that it can use a Kneeboard : Read the READ_ME Ka-50.txt/READ_ME A-10C.txt for how to. File: KNEEBOARD_Tablet_Mod_PP_1.02_for DCSWORLD_1.2.5.rar Size: 19.73 Mb [download] This mod is incompatible with DCS World 1.2.6 - Please don't use it any more. A premature Beta for DCS 1.2.6 can be downloaded >here< (Don't upload it to another place!! I will maybe make improvements and updates in the future! - only link this post when re-posting it somewhere else!) FAQ: Q: A:Is this zoom close enough?! Q: Can I use the buttons and click on it? A: No - maybe in the future. Have a look: Is there any way to add custom connectors ? I gave the Kneeboard this generic tablet design in the first instance to make it plausible why the charts are always bright and shiny and not influenced by any light conditions. Q: I'm using only the Viewport Kneeboards - and the border annoys me ! - How I can remove the Tablet border ? A: Navigate to DCS WorldKNEEBOARD_MOD_PeterPdata and rename or delete the "kneeboard_mask.dds" than rename "kneeboard_mask-EMPTY.dds" to "kneeboard_mask.dds". Q: What kinda navigation does it have for pages? Are you limited to the right and left arrow keys or can you go through a directory type view to find what you want faster? A: Only next/previous page - sorry, no 'bookmarks'. Info about the 'why' >>> #94 Q: I'm concerned if I can use this Mod together with other Mods - which files does it change? A: This mod uses the files of the default Kneeboard as it is used by the P-51D/UH1H and FC3 since 1.2.4 But without touching them (in a way) And each module has a modified DCS WorldModsaircrafts>module<CockpitScriptsdevice_init.lua to 'reroute' the calls for the Kneeboard to my new folder "KNEEBOARD_MOD_PeterP". (The ka-50 and A10-C have also a modified devices.lua and a new input files in e.g. DCS WorldModsaircraftsA-10CInputA-10C.) I have chosen this way to leave only a small 'footprint' in each module , and that I have to edit only one file to make a new module compatible with it. Be assured:This 'core-files' of a module are normally not touched by any other commonly used Mod I know of. And you can use it save with any other mod. But this Mod needs a closer look from me every time a new update from ED is out if it doesn't brake something. If you unsure if you can use it after a new update - please revisit this thread and observe the responses. Almost forgot: It changes also the 'default-level' of the LeftMFCD of the A-10C - so the new Kneeboard and the L-MFCD are not 'fighting' each other if rendered as a viewport. Q: is it possible to read a *.pdf with this Mod A: No. Supported image files are: *.bmp , *.jpg *.png , *.tga ,*.dds Q: I do usually long ferry flights and I'm very bored... - Can I take my Playboy collection with me?! A: Yes! - Scan them and put the images in the "Custom_Charts" folder of your used aircraft/module. Have a look also at this: Here is some stuff for you to fill up your personal Kneeboard with even more charts: DCS World Keyboard Charts >>> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=111745 BTW: I highly recommend using following Mod together with the In-cockpit rendered Kneeboard - you will enjoy it much more! >>> Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck Known bugs: 'Kneeboard glance view' function is reversed when in 'in-cockpit' mode - you have to use the show/hide key/button press. You have 'wishes' about expanding the current functionality ?! Please post them here: ED Forums » English » Digital Combat Simulator » DCS World » DCS Wishlist » Functional Kneeboard for all Modules! Throwing in two examples for a alternative placement of the Kneeboard inside the cockpit: Use the numbers out of the notepad++ window to get the same results. Ka-50 right panel position: UH-1H Wind-shield Center , you must lean and zoom a little more to get a optimal view, but this position let you see and use the Kneeboard also from the Co-Pilot seat : A tip for a more streamlined editing the position without the need to reload the mission each time you made a change: Use the included "All planes-modules Kneeboard test.miz" and edit the numbers while DCS is running. Than save the edited device_init.lua. Switch to DCS - go to Briefing > Back and re-enter the newly edited module again to see instantly your changes - redo this until you are satisfied with your position.

  12. If you followed the sticky and you wasn't able to fix it with the given info/advises - sure , go on and post it - no need to ask beforehand.
  13. Now it is - I added a note about the MSSFFB2: >>> ED Forums » English » Sim Topics » Input and Output » Sticky: corrupt calibration? crazy joystick response? Use this tools Fix it:

    All the best !
  15. Last Call ! If you have any issues - name them now. I'm putting the files for the ED-user-files-section together. And yes, it will have a "Strapped pilot with no compromise" alternative version with reduced movement limit depending on aircraft-seat/restraint system.
  16. When you add the support for graphical exports of devices: Add for each export a black background from the beginning. see here for reference: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1750390#post1750390 Also give each export a absulute unique name , so it doesn't conflicts with any other export from another module. I used this syntax for Icemaker's EMC: Developer_Vehicle_Device = ED_A10C_UHF_FREQUENCY_STATUS So yours should be BST_UH1H_UHF_FREQUENCY_STATUS Please do the same with the knee-board and pilot-sight. see here for reference: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1541311#post1541311
  17. Following this link Change Position of yellow Text (Weap.stat, AP)??? you will find a modified Hints_page.lua that let you control X/Y and Size . And it gives enough info how to change the colour.
  18. No one said that you shouldn't - but luaforwindows might a little oversized when you just want to edit dcs scripts and have besides of this no intention to write you own independent scripts. When I need a screwdriver - I take a screwdriver with me - and not a complete tool-shed. ;):) Notepad++ is this screwdriver. ...well, and MS Notepad is just a penny - you can try to move a crew - but it doesn't work really satiating. (espacialy for the Lua syntax).
  19. not possible (AFAIK) with the end-user available options/files. This needs to place a second view-port (btw: each View-port shares the same point) that has not only a independent rotation , it needs also a independent FOV - but DCS allows this not for end-user customisation - each camera you place in the 'multimonitorsetup.lua' has always the same FOV and it can't be controlled independently - when you change the FOV in one view-port you will change it for all others. Conclusion : Its very difficult to achieve one static, zoomed in, view-port while the other is freely movable with given options.
  20. No easy way to solve this- mid point is always determined by overall Render-space by the pinhole camera of the Graphic-engine. As the focal center of a view-port is always in the absulute middle of a render. You have to start the render of the center view-port in a negative Y value , but DCS doesn't allows this. So you have add phantom space of a virtual monitor at the top (softth can do this ) to shift the whole view up while keeping the lower part filled. ... But this will bring a lot of problems with menu items and so on. It's similar like doing something like this but without a existing top monitor:
  21. First : Check your controls assignment and if you are in the right 'game' mode. If you are confident that everything works as it should (you can always check the right function of a axis in the Su-25T) -. make a double check that you have no double assignment of one axis that fight each other. >>> Sticky: corrupt calibration? crazy joystick response? Use this tools Fix it: General Notes about FFB: DCS only simulates FFB 'shaking' effects if they are really present on your stick in the real craft - and not just because the surrounding cockpit and fusalage does this. But you will always have a realistic presentation how the hydraulics and mechanic behind the stick works : And to give you a better idea what is happening with the real cyclic in the Huey when you use Force-Trim. Please have a look: another force trim mechanism http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=83814
  22. Difficult to see. ...Always in motion is the future. @ Devrim Are you unaffected by this "Huey-Broken-HDR-Bug" ? - if yes: Please post your settings and GPU/Driver. ... or did you just were lucky when you took above screenshot and/or fixed it temporally by alt-tabbing ?
  23. Beware! This mod is not compatible any more with current DCS 1.2.4, as the file-structure has changed! You will have to look out for the right files to swap your own. General: Always make a backup ! And be very careful what you do as long there is no info that it works with your current version! If you are not sure: Check the file structure beforehand. - following these simple rules will have the nice side-effect that there will be much less "ID-10-T ERROR" reported in this forum.
  24. Sorry that I didn't thought of the "easy way" in the first instance... : There is really no need to make file edits when you don't want to see it at all. Just rename the ...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Scripts\UI\StatusBarDialog.lua to StatusBarDialog.luaBak (or similar) or delete it completely out of its folder. DCS just makes a call that goes to nowhere and just writes a error in the logs - besides this (I hope) there is no 'bad' side-effect or bug.
  25. Use the following info to move the Info-bar completely out of of your DCS screen render by using numbers that are greater than your total DCS render: (keep in mind that I havent tested it in 1.2.4 - so the line numbers have might changed - but the overall info is still valid. And use Notepad++ when you edit the scripts! And: before you edit: Make a Backup, make a Backup and make a Backup! - OK ?! Line 29 change from: to: And set in line 33 your screenWidth to have the time show up correctly. from this To this: Example on a 1024x768 camera-view-port and a 800x600 "main-screen size"
