Did you install the latest TIR software python? Even when I take off my headset for a while, so the camera can't see the diodes at all, the alignment is still remembered after putting it back on. oh btw TrackIR > HOTAS.

What info is lacking? Do you need help with actually using the SST or don't know how to map the buttons? If it's the former you need to be more specific and if it's the latter keep in mind that a well thought out profile will take time and you won't get anywhere if you would use e.g. my profile since it's tailored to my personal preference.

@636_Castle It's not about FC 2 here, since FC does not claim to have the same fidelity as DCS does. Hence your post is kinda moot. So real world ka-50 ejection seat parameters would be far more helpful.

By utilizing the radar/rwr you'll roughly know where the enemy is and may see some smoke in the distance. But once the missile goes ballistic, i.e. is not burning anymore, it'll be next to impossible to see the missile.

I don't think that TrackIR is of any help when you're trying to spot something which is BEYOND visual range (BVR) :P Just watch your RWR.

I concur. Check your steamapps\common folder to check this. Apart from some special cases (napoleon total war) games not developed by steam are installed there and are pretty much the same as any retail version. I can even launch CoH, which I bought over steam, directly without the need to login to steam first.

FC 2.0 or FC 1.1? In FC 2.0 the missile seeker now needs a valid lock to get LA. So aspect obviously/bandit using A/B will effect this. But turning your engines on idle will certainly won't help you in anyway: You'll deliberately lose speed and gain nothing in return, because when you get LA, the bandit can obviously launch as well.

Any source for that? Since as far as I remember it wasn't due to the cannon but their ability to launch TOW's. I kinda doubt that a T-72 could be penetrated by a 25mm/30mm cannon on any but very close range.

They are virtually identical. The 965 was released months after the 955, which was designed to be the fastest CPU, so they have the same cache etc.

Where did you get those FPS readings from? There's only 2 ways to explain this, if I understood you correctly: You either get different minimum FPS or you're just imagining things. What do you mean by "can't control the plane", because I doubt that it's got anything to do with something beyond graphics.

Nope, a 955 at 965 speed is as fast as an original 965 (there are benchmarks on this). It only depends on budget, both CPUs are pretty much the same. The 965 has a default vcore of 1.4, while the 955's vcore is 1.35, which means that the 965 doesn't automatically OC higher. But in the end it only depends on if you can get your hands on a good chip and if you do, 3.7-3.9GhZ is pretty much the max anyway.

955 because it's a BE. 965 is in most cases not worth the extra $, but that depends on how much it is more than a 955, which differs a lot.

Isn't drag a very important factor? Especially a high speeds, because I vaguely remember the drag equation to include the square of speed. May be wrong though.

@Fish you mixed the 2 keys up ^^ 1 is for nav mode and leftctrl+~ (changed in FC 2.0) for changing waypoints. But as far as I remember, the A-10 only has 2 nav submodes. Route and return(ILS).
