  1. Hi Owl, The problem has to do with the laser overheating. Do a search on this forum about "laser burn out" or laser overheat and you will get a better explanation. The only thing you can (sometimes) do is go back to your original FARP and shut down the engines, after 5 minutes or so, you get a new bird, and everything is working again. Cheers,
  2. you could say "FFARs" for folding fin aerial rockets if you were westerner you might say "hydras"
  3. Is there a fix in there that will decrease the framerate hit for flares as well? They really bring my system to its knees.
  4. I'm with 9.2 on Vista 64 with a 4870 x2, seems smooth until I fire off a few flares...
  5. My instructor always had me focus on an object (not just the horizon) in the middle distance (a taller tree or building is good) becasue it helps with drift as well. We unfortunately lose a key assistant when hovering to land on on most PCs...peripheral vision. :-(
  6. Sorry, CSD, been away on a mission. You are every close, good eye! Its actually a 1983 Cat30 regular rig and keel.
  7....OTOH, I have been using Visat64's notepad without any problems editing these files. Just have to be careful about managing the extension labels.
  8. And that happened even with your "parking" brakes on?
  9. Cobras with TOWs had been hurting me quite often. Now I just stay in the weeds or put a hill between me and their likely approaches to avoid them. In addition to the AA button, there is the early detonation button for the Viikhr missle (forget the name but it is on the same panel as AA) which I usually turn on to ensure lots of fragments flying to the target, especially in zero aspect angle engagement.
  10. To take it a step further, I can't even think about a single "seat" helicopter in the military. There are some single pilot, but they usually have an observer on board with them (eg Gazelle, OH-58. But I am hard pressed to find any single seat helos out there. Columbia was using some KMAX helos, not sure if they are still in service. Of course the Navy (USMC) made an attempt to turn the K-1200 into a "no-seat" transport military helo...not sure how that worked out for them.
  11. Thanks for the help, Viper. I am out this week, so am virtually grounded. Will pick it up again in a few weeks - wah! BTW, shoot does not seem to work with vista64, another reason I was interested in this system.
  12. Hey I tried this but keep getting an error: Heard Command: Flight engage my targetProcessing: sendkeyAI \ delay 5 sendkeyAI F1 delay 5 sendkeyAI F1 delay 5 sendkeyAI f1PROCESSING: [COMMAND]=sendkeyAI [ACTION]=\ERROR IN FUNCTIONS/ACTIONS: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {1A671297-FA74-4422-80FA-6C5D8CE4DE04} failed due to the following error: 80040154. Any ideas?
  13. Sorry guys, as much as I love flying the 'Shark, I love my boat more, and my eight year old can handle the controls well enough... :pirate: Land ho, matys AVAST!
  14. if you are close enough, you can call tower and ask for a vector - there is a radio command for this, forget exactly what its called. Other option would be if your wingman is still alive, tell him to RTB and follow him. Sadly, I have had to use both of these techniques and they do work. HTH
