  1. I'm trying to create some night training missions for myself, and I'm having trouble getting the mission to actually start. I'm getting a, sorry forgot the exact message, it's like, your start time is delayed. I've set the mission to start at 2100 and it is not starting at all. I'm sure I'm missing a simple step, but I'm not for sure what it is. I'm cold starting the F-16 on the ramp. Thanks Pmedic548
  2. I'd like to see a variety of inert bombs to carry, both dumb LGB and JDAM when it becomes available It would a great way to do a load out when doing training missions so you can continue to restrike the same target. Also a strafing pit and a bomb range target would be nice to evaluate where the bombs are striking during training scenarios.
  3. No I didn't do that, I'm using a profile I found on the User Files, and then tweaked it for my needs. I'll check that....
  4. So I'm sure I'm missing a very simple step, but I'm trying to learn how to use the TGP and I'm unable to slew the pod. When I select the FCR as SOI I can slew the RADAR cursor around, yet when I change the SOI to the TGP I can't slew it around. I'm using a Thrustmaster 16000M stick and throttle. Any suggestions and advice will be greatly appreciated.
  5. So I'm using the first skin I've ever downloaded and installed, (ILANG Skins) and I want 87-296 to be my default skin now when I do an Instant Action mission, Quick Mission, etc. I know how to select the skin in Mission Editor, but how do I use the skin for everything else? Thanks in Advance, Pmedic
  6. 183 FW ILANG Skin I have some F-4 pics and some F-16 shots from the 183D that you might enjoy. Espically some of the F-4s. I took a screen shot of 296 and showed it to the sheetmetal/corrosion troop who helped put the 60th tail flash on it. He thought it was really cool. FYI, 390 is a D model not a C (hence it was always referred to as "The Bus". The original "Flyn Illini that was in color was referred to as the "Flaming Monkey Head" There was a period before the final tail flash, Illinois was in yellow on a purple background (the Barney days)
  7. Ok how the heck do I install the skins. I have them in C\users\pmedi\saved games\dcs open beta\liveries\F-16 (per another users post from the past.) I have the game loaded on my D drive, but the saved games folder is on my c Drive. any suggestions? Thanks:helpsmilie:
  8. this is to m0j0NL. A great big THANK you for the ILANG skins. I've been with the unit since 1994 as a NDI technician. My co-worker was the crew chief for 362, and one of my best friends was the crew chief for 244. It's exciting to see the tail flashes and numbers of the vipers I spent many hours inspecting. I don't know how else to tell m0j0NL thanks for his awesome work and skins. Pmedic548, NDI 183FW The Boyz from Illinoiz
  9. True, as altitude increases fuel flow decreases and vice versa. However he didn't go much over 18K and the numbers were spinning, I think he was noting that they were changing way to fast. Looks like for the Wing Thanksgiving party I'm bringing my laptop back and there are a few more that want to try it out. Plus a couple of engine shop Hush House want to try it out, and since they run motors almost daily I'm interested as to what they think about the fuel flows.
  10. So yesterday my ANG wing had a Tactical Resiliency Pause, and part of the pause was several hours of gaming. Seeing that up until 2010 we were a Block 30 F-16 unit and are now are repair and overhaul center for the F110-110C, F110-129, QF110-100B, TF34 and F118, and there are several ex-viper pilots, crewchiefs and maintainers, I of course brought my gaming laptop with the F-16 for people to fly and enjoy. My Wing Commander, who has oodles of hours from the F4 thru F16A, and F16C Block 30 was impressed with the flight model. However he noted that when in burner the fuel flow rates would drop as he was going uphill and increase as he was going downhill, his comment was burner is burner there shouldn't be such a dramatic difference in fuel flow rates. Also he was getting the "Altitude" warning with gear down and he commented that that shouldn't be happening. I think since he is retiring next month DCS World will be seeing a new member, along with some of the other Viper Drivers and a couple of Hog Drivers that tried out the sim yesterday. Scott, NDI Technician, F15, F-111, F4, T-33, A-10, E-3,C-141, C-130, etc, if the AF flew it, I worked it!!
  11. I've been using the mission editor to create a simple training mission as I learn the aircraft. So I select the crew chief-refuel rearm and select the loadout. My weapons, TGP and fuel are loaded up, but there are no rounds being loaded for the gun. What do I need to have the selected ammo loaded? Thanks
  12. I'd add a way to get the throttle out of the way when going form pri to sec mode on the engine
  13. I'd like to see the JFS doors open when the JFS is started and then close when it shut downs after engine start.
  14. IL ANG skin wish I spent 18 years working the Block 30 Vipers of the 183d FW ILANG. I'd love to see some IL skins. The Boyz from Illinoiz
  15. I'm new to DCS and slowly learning the different aspects and aircraft. I'm now selecting the SU-33 Mission, "Instant Action-Cold and Dark" Persian Gulf map, cold start on an aircraft carrier. I receive permission from ATC to start the aircraft, and after I start I don't get permission to takeoff. Nor do I see the AI aircraft positioned in front of the ski ramp, unfold their wings or take off. I've accelerated time (thinking that it might take a few min for the AI aircraft to take off) but nothing happens. What steps, if any do I need to take to start the mission? Thanks

  17. I'm new to DCS, (though not to flight sims, X-Pane, Flight Sim, Falcon BMS) and I'm really enjoying the challenges and realism of DCS. There is a learning curve that I'm working through, and I'm trying to fly the night ILS training mission, and I find the cockpit lighting is very dim, I'm having a hard time reading the instruments, especially the HSI. Is there a way to "turn up" the instrument lights? Thanks
