  1. My concern is the splash and main gui screen are highly pixelated. Is this a result of eyefinity? I think it started to happen after I turned it on. It still only takes up the middle screen but all images are just pixelated.
  2. And everything seems to point to that contract they must have gotten a year ago for the F-15 :)
  3. Based on the highly detailed model of the F-15 pointed out several months ago when the A10 beta was released, I think it will be that one. I agree though that the F-18 might be more exciting. However, not everyone will be able to carrier land, so it could really frustrate some people.
  4. 6280? What's the native resolution on your monitors? Shouldnt it be 5760?
  5. The cannon sound from Wag's video does sound different and intense. It sounds like the entire air frame rattling from inside the pit, which is probably not far from the truth.
  6. Since it's Friday, I doubt NP is working over the weekend so everyone will to wait several more days for ED to hear from them and to apply a fix...
  7. That's some serious money your dropping there. Especially on the MD230X3...Way overpriced IMO
  8. I saw that monitor at Sams today. IMO, the bezel is too wide. That is a big monitor though. Three of them will take a lot of desk space. I also didnt like the lack of height adjustments. I need mine to be raised so i can fit underneath two 8" monitors as the MFDs. Unless your playing FPS though, I wouldnt get caught up on the 1MS rating. That wont make much of a difference in flight sims. I've been shopping for monitors for weeks now for a three monitor setup and its getting on my nerves. I can't pull the trigger on anything.
  9. Anyone care to comment on what I'm doing wrong? After several attempts I got attached but lost it in less than 10 second and I could never reattach Its my first time but it was frustrating as hell. I think my joystick overcompensates by the slightest movement. I'm all over the place with the slightest push one way or the other. I'm using a TM WH And I was never able to keep a constant speed. The tanker seems to be travelling at 186-187 Thank you for the mission. It certainly tests ones patience. cantrefuel.trk
  10. sign up for the newsletter and get 20% off. Unfortunately I had to pay TAX in Texas. I dont understand why. Only three states are effected by this.
  11. http://store.gameshark.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=4994&idCategory=173 Just ordered mine...finally I can get my rudder with my TM WH!
  12. where did you get it? I dont thnk its hits market for a few more days.
  13. I'm getting a new rig too very soon . I'm looking at getting two AMD 6950s or waiting for the 6990. My plan is to use 3 monitors (5960x1200) with 2 additional 8" screen for the MFD.
  14. I've played that mission a lot for traning purposes and the behavior being described now is the complete opposite from my experience. I havent tried in Beta 4 yet, but in Beta 3, the wingman will attack air defences after he calls contact. He would attack them with any weapon I instruct him to use. If however I get shot out of the sky, he would fly home. So it would seem the logic has been reversed maybe in Beta 4, or has the behavior previously described been your problem since before Beta 4?
  15. question, anyone getting crossfire to work with three monitors or is everyone in the thread using single monitors?
  16. Kuky, Funny you should say that. I'm seriously considering a 3 monitor setup (not including MFDs) with two video cards. Meaning four ports avaialble out of a needed 5. Two DVI ports per video card though would make that a big difficult. That would be my actual scenario, I was just simplifying the problem for a single card. :) I have an older 8800GT I can choose not to sell and maybe use that but I wasnt planning on inserting 3 cards into a new rig.
  17. So to hook those up, I take it I would need to use one of my video ports on a typical present day video card. A typical video card would come with two DVI ports. That would mean one for the main monitor but then you would need two more for each MFD. So would I be forced to but a TH2G adapter or is there something else avaialble?
  18. Does anyone figure 2 GTX570s would be good for a 3 monitor setup? What about the new ATI 6970s with the same setup i mind?
  19. Welcome to the DCS series of flight sims... :D BTW, you really should DL the beta if you want to learn. You need to sit in the cockpit and understand the buttons and procedures it takes to fly this thing. If you wait for the final release, it going to take you several more weeks or more before you might be ready to jump into the campaigns. The flight manual really means nothing until you fly. Ive had the beta from the beginning and I'm still learning, trying to squeeze in time between family obligations. I'm avoiding all of the campaigns and other Ed missions until its complete. Plus the A10 community is making some great training missions while we wait. Just my .02 cents.
  20. Played the mission. I enjoyed it. I'm still learning the sim so it was good for me. I'm sure it will be a bit easy for the veterans. The only problem I had was trying to lock my TGP laser on the JTAC laser. Don't I type in the number on the CDU and click LSS on the MFD? I had to spot the bunker instead to take it out. This isnt a bug, rather my failure to find their spot. I actually saved my track, first one since its my first mission to complete from takeoff to landing. I dont think the F-15 took out all of their targets. I couldnt be sure but nothing happened as a result. I enjoyed watching the other action outside of my pit. Thank you +1
  21. I seem to have a similar problem with using the trim button. However, I'm using the TM warthog so this problem I believe is game related, not controller related.
  22. I think for the most part, if I'm going after a static target, it's not really an issue. The flight plan knows where the steerpoint is and findingthe target on the TGP is actually not too hard. Its keeping it visually on the TGP that is the hard part. I think it's moving targets I'm having the hardest time with. I'm trying to make a distinction here between finding a target and just keeping it on the TGP. When targets are moving though and your TGP gets masked, its a chore of having to deal with both issues. For instance, the two first missions on the instant action selection. The last part of the mission has you going after a column of 8 targets moving Southwest through town. If I'm lucky enough to find them, I want to keep tracking them as I have to circle around for another pass. However, the TGP doesnt continue to lock a moving target when I'm not facing it and I completely lose my target when it gets masked. I'm trying to prevent this from happening. This is the primary source of concern for my question.
  23. I'm having a hell of a time trying to track targets on the TGP while preventing it from getting masked. Clearly there is an issue with my distance to target, mixed in with altitude and bank roll that I'm using. I've tried mixing it up. It seems when I approach a target and overfly it or need to pick up a new target, that while doing so, I'm constantly having to fight masking of my aircraft. Even when circling high above close to 8-10K I'm suffering the same problems. So what's the best strategy for distance, altitude and bank. Should I circle clockwise or counter? Anything else I should know?
  24. I know this isnt exactly a hi-tech forum but I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I'm looking to build a new computer and use 3 monitors. I already own DCS BS and A-10 and I was wondering if anyone out there is playing these games on three monitors and if so what video cards you were using. I'm debating on getting x2 GTX580 or x3GTX470. I would be running resolutions of either 1920x1200 or 1920x1080, depending on what i do about the monitor situation. Does anyone at ED have an opinion? surely someone there is testing a 3 monitor setup. What hardware are the running?
