Thank you all for the suggestions. The more I think about it, I probably will pick up the Tomcat. I was in the USN from 77-85 including 3 1/2 years on the JFK so it'll be a throwback to my youth

I really like the feel of the Harrier and the Mirage. They are both pretty capable while taking a bit more effort than AMRAAM spamming while being not quite as complex as a Hornet or Viper. I'm looking for some recommendations for aircraft with the same kind of feel as it seems pretty obvious that with Razbam bailing that the two modules will eventually have glaring bugs in their operation (beyond what Razbam never fixed in the first place.) I own Hornet, Viper, and A-10 II along with the Harrier and M-2000 but have no issue buying another module if it's something I'd like.

Thanks for all your helpful suggestions. As it turns out I did what I should have done first, which is run the repair utility. That ended up installing both maps for me. Thanks again!

That's a good thought but I have just under 1TB free on my drive so that's not it. When you deleted yours did you also delete it through windows or just from module manager?
-
They don't appear in that window nor do they appear in the list of available DLC to download when you first open the module manager. I deleted them through module manager then deleted the files in windows. First image shows homescreen with 8 items flagged as available for DL. Second image shows that only the aircraft can be DL'd. Third image shows what terrain is currently installed. null

I had deleted two of my installed terrain packs, specifically South Atlantic and Normandy, and now that I want to reinstall the SA map it does not show up in the available list in the module manager. The icon showing the number of available DLC's is correct on the game home page, it shows 8, but only the 6 available planes show up when I open the module manager. Any thoughts on how to get the terrain DL'd again? I would have used windows snip ability to capture the screenshot but it doesn't work in DCS.

Ships like the Tarawa carry long range 3D air search radars. Is there a way for them to give bogey calls, like an AWACS? I'm thinking of situations like an AV-8B off the Tarawa where there is not, realistically, an AWACS available but the ships radars should be able to give direction to a Harrier as to directions to intercept.

After turning off mirrors, per others suggestions, the black flashes were completely eliminated for me. Even the overall fps bumped up a frame or two during low flying. I'm going to try some flights with adversaries and I'm hopeful that it will maintain playable levels of fps.

No issues on my side over using screens. I only switched to VR because I kept failing at carrier landings with an F-18 and it helped!
-
I'm assuming from your specs that you're not in VR which would make sense. When I play on just a flat screen my fps is pegged no matter where I fly.
-
Yes I have this also when I am below 800ft AGL. It only has occurred on this map and happens irrespective of what the local terrain is. It was suggested to me to turn off mirrors to help this but I have not tried that yet. My system is pretty new and of reasonable specs (RTX3080, i7 11700, Quest 2 with cable, 32GB, SSD load.)

Are listed assets like the Invincible flyable off of or are they just AI units?
-
My performance below 800 feet was quite poor, down to low 20's fps, even out in the boonies with nary a building in sight. I even get blackouts where the view goes 20-80% black for a second or two. (It's suggested to turn off mirrors to eliminate this although I've never had this problem on other maps and I own them all) I love how the map looks but at low level it has worse performance for me than ever Marianas or Syria over towns. Specs are RTX3080, Quest 2 using cable, i7 11700, 32GB, SSD storage.

I'll give that a shot. I find it curious though that I've flown literally every map that DCS has, at low level, and have never experienced this artifact before. I'm also surprised that it only occurs at low level. Question for those who are experiencing good performance; are you seeing this at low level, i.e. <800 feet? At anything above that my performance is rock solid also.
