  1. What's the trick to getting radar altimeter data? I change the switch below the UFC from barometric to radar but, regardless of altitude or even if I'm sitting on the ground, it will always flash "B" to the right of my displayed altitude when I'm in radar mode. I'm sure I'm doing something stupid but I can't figure out what!
  2. Thank you very much! So if I understand, the Calibrated Air Speed is not the actual velocity of the plane through the sky but it does give a good indication of the energy state of the aircraft, i.e. the ability to maneuver without stalling or becoming easy meat for an adversary. The speed on the HSI is the actual velocity which is used for navigation. Do I have that right?
  3. I notice in the F-18 that the airspeed in the HUD is significantly different than the mach number would suggest or the air and ground speed shown in the HSI. For example, I was doing a free flight and the HUD airspeed was in the 380ish range, the mach number was around 1.05, and the airspeed and ground speed in the HSI was, as I would expect, in the upper 600's. I'm sure there's an obvious answer to the differences but as I'm a bit of a noob, I don't understand what is going on and would appreciate some info. Thanks! :helpsmilie:
  4. I just ran this today and noticed the same thing....and applied the same correction, i.e. I just set the fusing without a prompt. :P
  5. See my edited comment above. Thanks for pointing out my mistake!
  6. OMG you're correct...which means I'm a moron! I accidentally made it a switch instead of a button. Thanks!
  7. I have this issue also using my T16000M. As soon as I disengage NWS the plane is easily controllable but my typical mode of accelerating up to ~50kts with NWS on then disengaging is almost impossible to control with the F16.
  8. So this is a weird thing I'm seeing only with the F-16. I use Button 2 on the throttle as a modifier button. For the F-16, after I press the modifier button and then use another button to select a function, it will continue to activate modified functions, even though I'm no longer pushing the button, until I press and release the modifier button without pressing any other key. I can make this happen in the control setup pages, i.e. I don't need to be flying a plane, and it is consistent and only happens with the F-16. I'm able to get normal function, using the exact same key commands, with a M-2000C or an F/A-18. This is an odd "bug" and hopefully I've been able to successfully communicate what I'm observing :)
  9. For me it's the F-18. I've basically given up on it as I don't think I'll ever complete a carrier landing successfully. I find it impossible to find a throttle setting that will maintain a steady rate of decline and it seems hyper-sensitive to throttle changes so I end up zooming up and down like a possessed roller coaster.
  10. Personally I love the Mirage both as a pretty straightforward plane to fly, it's definitely simpler than the F-18/16 or A-10, and it's campaign(s) which are absolutely fabulous.
  11. I have no problem with INS alignment. Double check the tutorial/manual and see if you are missing a step. I do the long alignment each time I fly (2000C is basically only plane I use) and it seems ok.
  12. I'm having the same issues. I've tried varying PRF, vertical scan, narrow horizontal scan, boresight, all the other CMD modes, nothing seems to work. I literally can't see anything on the radar over about 5-6nm away. It didn't use to be like this. It's too bad as I really enjoyed the Mirage but until, or if, something changes I'll move on to other modules.
  13. Here you go, hopefully this works :) https://www.dropbox.com/s/kbdx2rwihratykh/mirage%20campaign%20mission%205.trk?dl=0
  14. Hmm, is there a way to trim .trk files. My file is ~18MB and I am not allowed to load anything >5MB.
  15. I was flying mission 5 of the Caucasus campaign (although I don't think the event had anything to do with that) when my HUD started acting very strangely. I couldn't move it out of NAV mode, although I lost the indicator which showed active waypoint number and distance to reach the waypoint. I could still see that information on both the PCN and the HSI but not on the HUD. Also, when switching to special mode forward or aft the HUD would not change although I could eventually get a radar lock it was only evident through the target being boxed. I could never get target information to show up on the HUD, i.e. range, weapon max/no escape/min etc. I tried pushing every button I could think of to reset things but I was unable to do so. Does anyone have an idea as to what I must have pushed to get in this state? Thanks much!
