  1. What Combined Arms features sounds great already, but how much cooler would it even be, if you could additionally control (give orders) to AI aircraft and helicopters! For example, in their announcement ED stated that reconnaissance planes will now finally get their true meaning - but as long as you can't direct them to a specific location, I wonder how that will work actually... Maybe I just lack imagination though.
  2. Those models are awesome! I just hope they will be included as a standard in DCS: World some day... Like the vehicle upgrade pack that Beczl made. Afaik that one's still "only a mod" which needs to be installed separately, right?
  3. I think it would be a great idea if Flaming Cliffs and DCSBS were multiplayer compatible. The missions with all the flyable planes would be much more exciting and it would be a good solution until jets for DCS appear. As a hardcore simmer you could say that the Lock On planes shouldnt be "mixed" with the ultra realistic DCS planes - but hey, the player-controlled Lock On aircrafts are still much more realistic than dump A.I. controlled aircrafts! It would certainly mean a lot of work for ED thoug...
  4. Hopefully until Wednesday when my holidays begin :)
  5. Thanks for the answer (dankeschön!). Let's hope it's released soon...
  6. Glad to see the patch! Does anybody know if there are any problems if I install the English patch over the german game version?
  7. There's definitely a difference - and the old terrain was already amazing! I just hope that it will be completed in time for the A10C module now that you start from scratch
  8. Thanks for implementing this, ED !
  9. Wow, I just came to see this model today - it's amazing! And even the blast shield to protect the cabin and the stabilizing jacks seem to be animated
  10. I'm not sure about that. In the other post you refered to it was mentioned that the AP can disengage if you run out of parameters. So one thing I can imagine is that your descent rate was too high when you thought you were in a proper hover mode. (At least this happens to me sometimes). For further clarification I recommend you to post a track as there are many possiblilities.
  11. Ok, just had a look into the manual. Literally it says “ББ/ТЗ” selector. Outside temperature setting for anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) flight control system pre-launch adjustments. No function. I guess amalahama is right with the calculations but it seems that it's not simulated. Hopefully it will be one day :)
  12. So, if I get it right the switch is selectable but it doesn't have any influence on anything, right?
  13. Thanks for you replies. It seems like good old "HOTAS" is the secret of succes for a good landing :). One last question: do you use the trim-function when landing or not?
  14. The ATGM temperature switch is selectable, so I guess it does influence something. However, I have no idea what it does. It would be nice if a developer, tester or someone else who knows could tell us.
  15. Thanks for your quick answers joey, ericinexile and slug. I understand that it's not a good idea to enable the autohover mode during the "final" of the landing. But don't you use it during the whole landing procedure at all? And what about the "auto descent" function (D) - so far I dindn't find it very useful when landing. Do you use it at some point?
  16. After a playing a multiplayer map called "king of the hill" (or something like that) I recognized that it might be a good idea to exercice landing a bit :music_whistling: However, always when I try to land on a FARP something very strange happens and I couldn't find out whats the cause - so here is what I'm doing: As soon as I think I'm directly over the FARP, I engage "autohover". Then I disengage the "autohold" button and begin to sink very slowly. But now it comes: short before my wheels touch the ground, the chopper goes crazy: all the other autopilot buttons disengage and normally I end up in the field... I added a short track file that might better explain what I mean. Any help on this would be highly appreciated! fail2land.trk
  17. Thanks alot for the reply britgliderpilot, I'll give it a try
  18. Hi all I've been flying the Black Shark for a while and want to learn a bit more details now. One thing I was wondering is the following: In the manual it is written that you can use the R-800 for ADF by setting the corresponding frequency of an NDB and then move the ADF-knob to the up position. Using the ABRIS information search I can find out the frequency of an NDB which is e.g. 746.0 KHz. Now here is my question: using the Radio frequency thumb wheels there is no possibility to enter the desired 0.746 MHz as the lowest number in the first field can be 11 (if I remember correctly). So how can it be done - except using the predefined channels of the ARK-22? Another thing I came across concerns the Shkval: Sometimes it is just impossible to me to decrease the gate size again (after increasing it). I couldn't find a description of this problem in the manual aswell. Any help would be appreciated :)
