I've just got hold of a touchscreen and have a few questions regarding getting it set up for Blackshark. I have Googled and watched a few videos on YouTube regarding 'TouchBuddy' and think I prefer this program to some of the others on the market, and it's free! I have a Vista 32 bit OS and a NVidia graphics card that supports multiple monitors, but am thinking of upgrading to W7 64 Bit. 1. Can I use the instrument panel graphics from the game to make backgrounds and buttons? Are they easily found and can they be manipulated with Paint or PhotoShop 4? 2. I'd like to be able to get the Abris and Shkval as seperate 'tabs' on the touchscreen. Can the 'live' images be exported to the touchscreen from the PC (and how is it done)? 3. I've seen some very good profiles both here and on other sites that I'd be happy to use and possibly amend. I have however changed all the keystrokes in my BS profile to allow for easier use along with my X52. Will this cause problems or can profiles be easily changed to allow for different keystrokes? 4. I've read that TouchBuddy will only run if using 'windowed' mode in Vista, is this still the case? (A reason I'm thinking of upgrading to W7). Thanks in advance for any help offered. ... but have heard a few horror stories of people losing there whole BS profiles and settings. Anyone here got any experience of this? I've also been advised that I can only upgrade to Windows 7 32 bit, as I'm currently running Windows Vista 32 bit... any thoughts? Whilst I'm asking questions, does anyone have any experience of using touchscreens with BS? I've managed to pick up a second hand 7 Inch screen and was hoping to get it to display some of the buttons and displays. I've seen a few Utube videos of how simple it is to make buttons but am a bit concerned about how I'd go about getting the Abris and Shkval onto the screen? Helios/touch buddy - Any thoughts or advice? Thanks for any help offered...

Very Immersive Feel that I have to thank and congratulate the dev of this excellent campaign. I'm only half way through but am thoroughly enjoying the very immersive atmosphere and story line. I've just rescued the downed pilot but got taken out by an AA gun on the way back - managed to task my wingman to take the AA gun out before I ejected and took the long walk home. Don't know if it's a bug or not but I couldn't get the ground crew to fit NVG's before this mission so done it in the dark! Looking forward to tonight so I can retry!:thumbup:

Try pluging into a different USB port. My X52 throttle doesn't work in the 'front' ports or if using a USB extender or hub. Check that the interlinking cable is fitted correctly. I bent the metal plug surround slightly to ensure a firm fit. This cable and its plugs are a weak point of the system. Check that your drivers are up to date. Wipe the old ones completely from your system. I don't use the Saitek profiler as I found it was causing crashes. To get more options and fuctionality open the Windows joystick properties tab and check everything's working ok. Keep it open and open the game. In the joystick profiler you'll now find you can use a few more of the buttons the game profiler didn't recognise before. A problem with this is that I lose the functionality of the mini-stick.

I'm after a 7 or 8 inch touchscreen to use with DCS BS and touch buddy. I'm in the UK so please include postage in any offers. Anyone out there with one they're not using?

From an old thread I found out that having the Control panel/hardware/controllers/X52 Pro/properties open allowed you to use a lot more of the functions of the X52 within the BS options/joystick profile set up (scroll wheel and scroll button being 2 of them). I have however found a problem. With the afore mentioned window open I am no longer able to use my mouse 'mini-stick'. With the window closed it works fine but I lose the functionality of the srcoll wheel (mapped to the Shkval gate) and the scroll press (mapped to the Shkval lock). Any ideas to overcome this? I don't like using the Saitek SST software as I find I get a lot of crashes within the game when it's running in the background.

A Brief Explanation of Why... ...the original question was asked. When slaving the SHKVAL to get it to slew on to a datalink point you have to 'cage' the SHKVAL. As I'm usually in the vicinity of the bad guys I find it a pain to have to close down part of my targetting system. I guess I'll just have to live with it. Thanks guys for the answers.

When I cage the SHKVAL I use 'Target Mode Reset' (mapped onto my joystick), but this also turns off the Ground Moving Traget (GMT) and Auto Turn to Target (ATT) buttons. Is there any way to cage the SHKVAL without disabling these buttons? (PS, I've reset all my keystrokes so please give 'directions' to the button..!)

Not willing to sell mine but it is 8x11. It's a very good reference but all of the pictures show the Russian cockpit with Russian labels, and the text refers to the Russian labels. To this end you have to keep refering to the screen to see exactly what it's talking about.

Started game today after not playing for two days. Pilot log has dissapeared and all the campaigns have reset. No changes made to my computer (I've been away for two days) so I'm unsure what's happened. Any idea where my pilot log/profile has gone?:helpsmilie: My control settings have not been lost.

If your missile is exploding before hitting the target are you sure you don't have aircraft targeting or head on aspect mode engaged? This makes the missile expolde early to 'pepper' the aircraft...

Are all of these missions playable in single player? I haven't downloaded yet but I'm assuming it just depends on where I put them?

I'm a bit of a coward. I usually hover at the ingress point and send a wingman ahead. When he starts to report 'enemy seen' etc I task him to attack air defences. He doesn't usually last long but it gets rid of a few Manpads and SAMs and highlights where they are...

Love it! I've printed this off in A5 and placed it in a cheap photo album with easy flip tabs attached.

I think you have to destroy the house completely and then a car drives away through the town. I think you're supposed to destroy it. The FAC lets you know what to do...

The Courier mission is one of the 'in game' missions. Open your mission folder and have a look!

I am also getting the lock up at the same WP as DSOBBE. Totally locks up and have to Ctrl Alt Del to get out.

Dragony - yes found it there but it contains no info apart from the default pilot info and I can't seem to amend it.

My computer crashed after I'd finished one of the campaign missions. When I loaded BS back up again I had no pilot log (only the default one showing no hours etc.) and all the campaigns I had completed are shown as inactive - i.e. not started. Any ideas where my log book has gone? There's no logbook info in the scripts/logbook folder...:helpsmilie:

I use the quick start all the time, although did learn the long way. If pushed I'd probably be able to get it started the long way again.
